    • "Ha!" Odin boasted indignantly at Jacob. "I can do it both ways! I'm gonna get lots and lots of aminals for lunch, enough for everyone! Annnd," he added in a sing-song voice, "I'm gonna get more than youuu!" He pointed at Jacob and laughed, then continued to twirl around and dance.

      • Kaida laughed at Odin, though inwardly she muttered to herself. She had gotten herself into a pickle now. There wasn't anywhere they could go to fight food, but if she didn't find one, Odin would probably have a fit. She glanced at Justin. "Help," she mouthed as she carried the Deku towards one of the stands selling food.

        • Justin smirked back at Kaida and mouthed back to her, "You're on your own." It would definitely be amusing to see how she'd get out of this one. He wasn't too worried though. She was the resourceful type, after all, and would be able to come up with a safe alternative like always. That, or she'd get lucky and get away with disappointing the Deku boy.

Odin allowed himself to be picked up by Kaida and brought over to the market stalls where lots of delicious things were on display for people to buy. "Wow, there sure is a lot of food here," Odin remarked, eying the food. "They got apples and cakes and icky healthy foods and pies and--" He stopped and gasped. Then he wiggled down from Kaida's arms and ran closer to the stall. He placed his hands on the counter and stood on his tip toes to get a better look. Then he gasped again and turned his head around to look at the others behind him with a wide grin on his face. "Look! Look!" he shouted, hopping up and down and pointing to the thing he was talking about. "They got carrots here! Lots and lots of nummy nummy carrots!" He helped himself to a handful and happily started munching away at them. The sharp shopkeeper who had been watching him did not, apparently, share the same enthusiasm that Odin did.
"Little boy, I hope you are going to pay for that," he said in a stern tone. Odin looked up quizzically at him, still chomping at the carrot.
"Do you know what happens to children who steal?" He pulled out a small knife from his pocket and showed it to Odin. "They get their little hands cut off." Odin stopped chewing, stared at the knife with his growing, fearful eyes. His little body began to shake as his eyes started to fill up with tears. Then he dropped the carrots and ran back to Alec's side, clutching his pants and smearing his tears on them as he started bawling his eyes out and hiccuping.

          • Alec stared in wonder as Odin's bewilderment on how many things were on sale turned to excitement as he rushed to the carrots. Then, to Alec's dismay, the little Deku took a bunch and began chomping happily on them, which of course instigated an more or less aggressive behavior on the situation. Alec let go of Widow and took the little Deku in arms as he walked up to the shopkeeper. "It's all good, we'll pay for them, don't worry," he said as he took some rupees from his pocket. "No need to traumatize the kid," he added with a mumble under his breath. He held the rupees out for the man to take, "I guess that will be enough?" The man eyed the 30 rupees suspiciously and huffed at Alec, "Is that some kind of joke? These carrots are freshly brought here straight from my fields near Ikana. Do you have any idea how much work I go through to grow them? Nothing grows on that forsaken place! But let me tell you, I managed, and these are the best carrots you will find in all of Termina! The Gorman brothers themselves come here on a monthly basis and leave me sold out, feed 'em horses with these babies they do!" Alec held back from rolling his eyes at the salesman, who obviously had a grandeur sense for his carrots than most people would.
"Fine then, how much?" Alec asked with distaste. The man huffed some more before replying with what clearly was an overprice exaggeration.
"50 rupees no less is what is right for something as good as these babies." Alec sighed as he pulled more rupees from his pocket and handed them to the man. He was about to turn and walk away when he remembered the look of glorious finding on Odin's face when he had seen the carrots. Shaking his head in denial that he was actually going to do this, he beckoned the man again. "Gimme another bundle will ya?" he said as he pulled out another purple rupee from his pocket. The total amount was all he had been planning on spending on Odin's weapon, but seeing as Justin had given them it for free, the weight of the amount of money seemed reduced. The shopkeeper eyed him suspiciously as he took another bundle, gave it to them, and then took the money. Alec nodded firmly before turning and beginning to walk back to Odin. Before giving him the carrots however, he decided to add a little something to the trauma he had probably already suffered from the man's firm threat. "Now, Odin, you must remember that one doesn't take what one pleases whenever he pleases. So, no more taking other things before making sure it's yours, or you can afford getting it, 'kay? The man did tell you what happened to thieves," he added with a smile, as he wiped the remaining tears from the Deku's face and handed him the bundle of carrots.

            • Kaida glared at Justin. She wasn't that good with kids, but she knew that she couldn't really make Odin fight anything for his food. She continued to wander around, trying to come up with something.
It turned out she didn't have to, as Odin stole some carrots from one of the merchants. She started to step in, but Alec beat her to it. She shrugged, and allowed the man to pay for the carrots while she bought an apple and a pint of strawberries. She ate the apple as she wandered around the market a little longer, then returned to the others and offered them strawberries. "Best fruit in the country, and the best are grown by the Deku in the swamp," she told them. She grinned down at Odin. "But you knew that already, didn't you."

              • Odin nodded his head at Alec and took the bundle of carrots, sniffling his nose a little. The whole thing was so confusing and frightening to his young brain. After all, he'd figured that since Widow was there with them, he'd be allowed to take anything since she was a pirate. That's what pirates did, right? And he wanted to be just like them when he grew up. So what was the problem? He figured it was just something that grown-ups naturally knew and sighed. Perhaps he'd figure it out someday. For now, he cheered himself up by munching on a carrot. He saw Kaida arrive with a bunch of strawberries and briefly wondered when she'd gone.
"Best fruit in the country, and the best are grown by the Deku in the swamp," she told them. She grinned down at Odin. "But you knew that already, didn't you." Odin looked up at her and smiled.
"Yeah. My other mommy and daddy had people making strawberries for them. Sometimes I would sneak into the field and eat some!" He giggled at the memory. "Oh! But don't tell them I said that!" He pulled out another carrot and started swinging it around, pretending like it was a sword. "Hyah! Hyah!" he shouted while laughing. Then he poked Jacob in the leg with it. "Hyyyah!"

Justin was happy to see Kaida return with an armload of fruits for them to eat. After she'd glared at him and left, he'd been worried that she was mad at him, though for what, he didn't quite understand. He stood back and watched Odin play around, smiling to himself. Looking at him now, you never would've guessed that he'd been crying earlier. He glared at the merchant who'd threatened to chop off his hands. What was he thinking, anyway, telling a kid something like that? He debated on whether or not he should go over there and teach the guy a thing or two.

                • Widow grinned at Odin, he was the most adorable thing in the world "you know I've never had fruit from the swamp" she said "actually I never very much care for fruit, most of it's to sweet for my taste and I'm far from sweet" she laughed,

                  • "Well of course you're not," Odin said, giggling even harder. "People don't taste sweet! And also you're not s'possed to eat people, silly." He batted her on the leg with his carrot. Then he took out the knife that Kaida had given him earlier and carefully examined it. Come to think of it, the knife was pretty small and thin. Hmmm...
He looked from the thick carrot in his one hand, to the knife in his other, back and forth. Then a smile broke out on his face. He took the knife and jabbed it into the carrot. A small portion of the knife stuck out from the tip of the carrot, but now the weapon was mostly concealed. He lifted the carrot into the air and smiled triumphantly. "Look what I made!"

                    • Kaida saw the look in Justin's eye and quickly moved over to him. She touched his elbow. "Not worth it," she whispered. She then turned to Widow. "Is there really such a thing as a sweet pirate?" she asked innocently. Before the girl could reply, she turned to Odin. She grinned at him. "What a clever little Deku you are!" she said and ruffled his hair.

                        • Odin's face beamed with pride at the compliments. "Now I can be sneaky, too!" he said happily. "'Cause no one will ever think that a carrot can hurt people. That would be weeeird!"
                          ~
Justin sighed and nodded at Kaida, knowing that she was right. No matter how much the guy deserved a good punch, he would ignore him. For Kaida, at least. He looked back at Odin and saw that he'd stuck the knife he'd given him early into a carrot as a sort of make-shift weapon. It was actually a pretty neat idea, even if it did look a little ridiculous. He watched as Kaida filled the little Deku with praise and thought he saw a spark of resentment flare up in the pirate's eyes. Why, though, he couldn't imagine. He chalked it up to being a "girl thing" and decided he'd have no part in it, unless his Kaida was directly harmed.

                              • Kaida rolled her eyes at the pirate. She would say what she meant, family or not. She glanced at Justin and was pleased to see he had decided to heed her and leave the man alone. Otherwise she would have had to interfere, and that wouldn't have been pretty.
She glanced up as she heard thumping of bodies and was a little surprised to see a girl had crashed into Widow. She chuckled under her breathe at the scared look the girl had, and the reply to it Widow had given. "Yeah, mean like me," she said with a grin. She then glanced up at the sun to check the time and swore. If she didn't hurry now, she'd be so late for her match, she'd be disqualified. She ran off towards the stage, quickly pulling off her breastplate and spare knives and tossing them over her shoulder. She knew Justin would be able to get them before anyone else would. If he didn't, she scold him, then hunt down the person who grabbed them.
