    Kaida was quick to get in the ring and ready to fight. Her opponet was a large man, burly with muscles, but as she thought, he used his strength. He had little speed, and he was creative enough to do the 'fancy' stuff. She could dodge his strikes with ease, and was constantly landed blows on him, though she was careful not to inflict any that could be fatal. The stage was soon so slick with his blood that he slipped on it. She jumped right in and twisted his sword from him while he was off-balanced. And with that, she won the tournament.

    (sorry for the sucky fight scene)

      Destinie nodded weakly. "Thank you...." She wiped her eyes on her sleeve, her hands shaking. "There are some things.... I wish I could forget....."

        Alec stifled a yawn as he looked around. He had slipped away from the conversation a while back and hadn't even noticed Kaida had already won her fight. One thing he did notice, however, was the fact that Odin was acting rather awkwardly. Suspicious, he decided to inquire the little guy later, for now, he turned to the others and quickly said, "Be right back," before running off to somewhere.

          Odin wasn't exactly sure what just happened or why the new girl was crying, but he knew enough about when to keep his mouth shut and he figured this was one of those moments. "I'm sorry," he sincerely said. "Don't be sad, 'kay?" He patted her hand and smiled all the way up at her. Suddenly he heard the loud roar of a crowd and he quickly spun around in time to see Kaida disarm her opponent and win the final battle. He jumped up and down and cheered, then raced over to the stage and climbed over it so he could make his way to Kaida.

          Justin followed the match closely, watching every move that Kaida and her opponent made. He knew she had won the battle when the man had started to slow down, unable to keep up with her speed and prowess. He heard the crowd erupt in a loud mixture of cheers and protests, but he paid them no mind as he made his way towards her to congratulate her. He saw Odin already racing up the stage, eager to get to Kaida, and he scooped the little guy into his arms to make his trip much faster.

            Kaida waved at her friends, then turned and helped her opponet up. He gave her a sheepish grin. "Never lost to a woman afore now. What's ya name?"
            Kaida grinned. "Kaida. The Dragon." The man blanched faintly, and Kaida's grin widened. Finally, someone who knew her! The man started to utter apologies, but she waved him off and went to collect her hundred Rupee prize before going to meet Justin and Odin.

              Destinie wiped her eyes on her sleeve, slowly managing to calm herself down. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to start crying like that...." She watched Odin as he ran off to Kaida. "He's a sweet kid..."

                  Destinie sighed, pulling herself to her feet. "I need to get to work soon..." She looked at Widow. "I work at the inn. It was nice meeting you, miss Widow." She bowed slightly out of habit.

                      Destinie smiled. "It's strange. I'm not afraid of you at all, even though you're a pirate. I'm usually so afraid of people, but with you and your family, I feel... safe..." She bit the inside of her lip, looking down at her feet. "The only other person I ever feel this safe around is the innkeeper who took me in...." She looked back up at Widow, hopeful. "May.... may I have the honor of calling you my friend?"

                          Destinie timidly reached out and took Widow's hand, smiling happily. "I'd like that... Thank you." She hugged her suddenly, happier than she had been in a long time.
