    • Kaida led the panther to a quiet ally, then pulled the rope halter off it. She had made certain the ally was clear before doing this, just in case. She sat down in front of the creature and rub its muzzle. "Poor dear, I can't imagine what you must have been through." The panther purred hoarsly. "You'll be fine now, I'll take care of you." She scratched the panther's ear. "You need a name. Maybe Justin will know a good one." She stood and laid a hand on the black leopard's shoulders. "Shall we go?" It stood and followed her back to the market square, where Kaida looked for her friend.

      • "Okay," Odin said, although a little unsure. He still kept his firm grip on her in case she decided to leave again. His other parents already didn't like him anymore. He was afraid that maybe Widow and Alec had changed their minds about him. He'd have to work harder on being good.

Justin had decided on going back to his store and sure enough, there was already a group of people waiting just outside of the door. He gave them all a welcoming smile, thanking them for their patience, and allowed them entrance into the store, after which he began helping them out in finding weapons of their choice.

        • Widow grinned "don't worry, my perfect little deku" she said, as she heard how unsure he was "I won't ever abandon, I love you Odin, don't you ever forget that" she kissed his forehead then ruffled the leaves on his head.v

          • Kaida didn't see Justin anywhere, but she did spot Widow. She walked over to her, the panther following slowly. She smiled at Widow and Odin when she got to them. "Look what I just bought. Poor dear was being sold in the worst slum of the town. Supposedly, it was found in one of the alleys here, though I doubt that very much."
When the panther spotted Widow, it gave a faint growl, remembering how much her former mistress and this girl disliked each other. It was half-hearted, though, as it had been beaten so many times for even whimpering while in captivity.

            • Widow looked down at the panther "it looks familiar" she said sarah the name passed through her head "well, even if it belonged to who I think it did, no one deserves to be locked in a cage, it's wrong, wild animals should be free" widow lashed for a moment "oh great, I've become a big old softy" she sighed.

              • Odin giggled softly at Widow's words, imagining her as a giant pillow. He nudged his head against Widow’s chest. “People would make nice pillows,” he said aloud to no one in particular. “’Cause people are warm and squishy.” He reached out to pet the cute, fluffy panther, wanting to befriend it.
                ~
"Excuse me, young man, but could I ask you to repair the damages done to my sword?" A man held out his weapon for Justin to see, who took it into his hands and carefully accessed its condition.
"I certainly can!" Justin said with a smile. "This'll be no trouble at all! And it'll probably only take a couple of minutes." He asked the man to please wait while he went into the back to get started. He frowned when he saw that there was someone already there. "Excuse me," Justin said, making his way to the person hunched over by his work desk. "I'm sorry but this place is off limits to-" The man quickly spun around and pointed a sword right at his face. He recognized the sword as one of his own and quickly deduced that the man was a thief, and twice his size, too. He entire outfit was a crimson red.
"Where is it?" the thief said, keeping the weapon raised.
"Put that down,” Justin replied, clenching his fists. “Can't you see you're scaring the customers?" Indeed he was, as the remaining customers that hadn't yet run away were now standing huddled against the wall, fearful for their lives. The thief swung his sword at Justin, who just barely missed the blow to his head by inches.
"Don't make me ask you again." Justin began to sweat. This wasn't like any other petty criminal he'd dealt with before in the past. He could tell that this guy meant business and wouldn’t be afraid to draw some blood. He’d have to use force against him. He grabbed the first weapon within his reach—a simply made lance. It’d have to do. He swung it at the man but was swiftly blocked with the sword.
“You’re taking me on?” the man said with a smirk. “Ha. If you had any idea who I was, you’d think twice, little boy.” The thief swung again, this time with such force that Justin was knocked off of his feet and onto the table, its contents spilling onto the ground. He winced but fought back the sharp pain with a tight grimace. He gripped the lance and struggled to his feet.
“I don’t care who you are,” Justin said with an unwavering voice, glaring at the man. “Get out of my store.”
“I think you mean my store.” The man lazily circled around Justin with his side to him, resting the sword against his shoulder. “You see,” he started, “my colleagues and I have been looking for a certain item. And, word on the street is, you’re the best blacksmith around. Top notch, quality weapons. So naturally, I’d figure it was in your possession. But now, here’s the problem.” Justin went crashing into his shelf of books without warning and what remained of the crowd was now frightened off. He coughed and sputtered, trying to crawl his way out of the mountain of books and broken boards that had piled on top of him, but before he could get back on his feet, he was pinned down again by a sword pressing against his neck. “Your weapons are a disgrace to swordsmen everywhere.” The man pressed the sword harder into Justin’s neck, causing his skin to break and drops of blood drip down the metal. Justin gritted his teeth but didn’t allow himself to show any sign of pain or fear. The man smiled and tossed the sword aside. Then he pulled out a sword of his own. Justin’s eyes widened. It was unlike any sword he’d seen in his entire life, and he knew all about every kind of weapon. The man’s sword seemed to glow a dark purple, or maybe that was just the light bouncing off of it, he couldn’t tell right now. It was long, too—a little more than half the man’s size. The handle was black with a dull red and green gem on it. There was another small hole carved next to the gems.
“Now this,” the man said, “this is a weapon. Powerful. Illustrious. Perfect in every single way. Except for one little thing.” His eyes grew dark as he glared down at Justin. “Where is the jewel?”
“If you’re looking for jewelry, there’s a store that sells some just down the street.” The man heaved him by the neck and slammed him against the wall, pressing the tip of his sword at his chest. Justin struggled against his grip, swinging his arms and legs wildly in the air, but to no avail. He clawed at the hand that gripped him tightly, fighting for air, but the man didn’t even seem to notice his struggle.
“None of the wisecracks, please,” he said. “I’m sure you realize just how easily I could rip you apart. Surely even a simpleton like you can feel its power?” The only thing Justin wanted to feel right now was his body, as he felt himself growing numb from lack of oxygen. “Now tell me where it is.”
“I don’t…no idea…you’re…talking…” was all Justin could manage to gasp out.
“Hm. What a pity.” The man released his grip on Justin who fell to the floor on his hands and knees and started gulping in large amounts of air. “Then it’s a shame you’ll have to die.” Justin looked up at him in alarm, just as he felt a sword slam straight through his back with a sickening squish. His mouth and eyes shot wide open as his final breath left him. Then he fell to his side, dead in an instant. The man pressed his foot against Justin’s back and pulled out the sword now completely covered in blood from blade to handle, getting stuck a few times before managing to pry it loose from Justin’s body. The gems on it glowed erratically for only a second before turning dull again. He wiped the sword using Justin’s already stained and soaking shirt, then returned it to its scabbard.
He’d already disappeared from the store in a matter of seconds, leaving as quickly as he’d come.

                • Kaida smiled down at the panther. "It needs a name. I don't know much about animals, so I don't know how to tell which gender this one is. Which makes it all the harder to give it a name." She glanced at the pirate when she called herself a softy. "I didn't think pirates could become softies," she said, barely keeping it casual.
She watched Odin reach to pet the panther and started to step in to stop him. The black leopard reacted quicker, flinching away from the proffered hand. Kaida quickly deduced the poor dear had been hit mutliple times. She knelt down next to Odin. "Best not to force a friendship," she warned. "It's been treated very badly. We'll just have to show it not all beings are as mean as its previous owners."

                  • Widow almost shouted "what is your deal!" but kept it inside, it wasn't her fault she hated pirates, hell, she barely considered herself a pirate anymore "listen to her, even a pirate, knows that when someone has been hurt, weather human of beast, they don't trust people easily, they live in fear of it happening again" is what she actually said, empathizing the word pirate.

                    • Before Alec could even respond, he watched Widow walk away back to Odin as quickly as she'd come. He sighed and shook his head before taking sipping some more of his drink. He wondered if he should go back now, or stay there some more. He decided he would finish his drink first. When he was done he put the glass on the counter, along with a few rupees, then stood up. He didn't have to look a lot before spotting Widow, Odin, and Kaida with some animal besides her, he couldn't see what from where he was standing. He wondered why Justin wasn't with them, and guessed he had probably gone back to his store. He shrugged the thought off, knowing he was most likely alright, then walked over to the small group. As soon as he got there he felt some kind of tension between Widow and Kaida. He quickly pecked a kiss on Widow's cheek then leaned to hug Odin. Yes, he definitely felt some tension between them. He overlooked the fact that there was a black panther there and said, "You know, I just remembered, I wanted to get my knives checked by Justin, so I'm gonna head to his store quickly, you guys stay here." He then looked at Odin and decided it was better if he removed him and Jacob from the tension betwen the girls. He grabbed Odin and pulled him up onto his shoulders. "Mind coming with me guys?" he told both of them, "Maybe it's time we give these ladies some time to...talk." He smiled and began walking in that direction before they could say anything.

                      • Kaida rolled her eyes. She knew pirates could tell when others were in pain. That didn't mean they sympathized. They could just as easily be trying to cause the pain. She looked at the panther and considered what to do with it. It was so beautiful, but so scared. "A little love," she told herself. "That's all it'll need. I'll show it to be strong and proud again."
She glanced up as Alec came over, announced he was going by Justin's shop, then left with Odin. She blinked at the abruptness, but shrugged it off. With them now being alone, maybe now Widow would spit what was on her mind. First, though, the panther. She walked over to a stall, bought a slab of meat, then walked back. She cut it into small pieces with her knife, then started offering them to the black leopard. It took a little while, but the animal started snapping the bits up, quickly, in case Kaida changed her mind.

                          • Jacob's eyes went back and forth between Widow and Kaida. This isn't going well.. Jacob thought as he listened to the women argue. When Alec left with Odin, Jacob decided it would be best to follow them. He didn't want to be around if things got violent between Widow and Kaida.

She poured it over her hands, giving them a light wash. She dried them off on her leggings, then turned to Widow. "What do you know about panthers? I need to find out its gender, so I can name it."
