***Maxwell and Shade enter from The Betrayal and The End***

Maxwell and Shade entered the tavern, and both looked around. It wasn't a popular one, so not many people were there. This put Maxwell's mind to rest a bit, seeing as he wouldn't have to worry about Shade panicking about a lot of people being nearby. The lighting was dim, and almost made you want to sit down and take a nap. The ceiling was a bit low as well. It was a perfect setting for the mood Maxwell was in.

The pair walked up to the bar, and Maxwell sat down on one of the stools while Shade sat on the floor next to him.

"Hey, is that wolf tame? I don't want a wild wolf going crazy in here." The bartender said, coming over to Maxwell. Maxwell looked into the bartender's eyes, and thought about pulling rank on him. Normally, he would, but he just wasn't in the mood.

"Yeah, Shade's tame. Shouldn't be causing any problems. He's here to watch me while I'm under the influence. Can you get me a drink?"

The bartender looked at Shade, then went to get a drink. Maxwell sighed with relief. He was glad that the bartender didn't fight with him over the fact that the wolf was in the tavern, because he was too tired mentally to deal with something like that. The bartender slid Maxwell's drink to him from down the counter, and Maxwell grabbed it. He looked at the liquid in the cup, wondering what it was, then took a drink. White wine. Maxwell thought it tasted familiar, but couldn't remember the name of the brand. It was good wine.

Shade watched Maxwell as he drank the wine. Shade wasn't completely sure why they had to come here, even after Maxwell had explained it to him. Shade thought the best course of action was to leave right away, but he understood that Maxwell thought differently than he did. He was the one in a dark place, so he would get to decide how he would deal with it. And if getting wasted was how he was going to do it, then Shade wouldn't stop him. The only thing he was going to do was prevent Maxwell doing something he might regret under the influence.

Termina seemed a dark place, the field full of dark green grass and a sinister air. Tyra couldn't place her finger on why that was, but she couldn't shake the sense of danger. Nothing seemed to be the cause of it, though, and when the group entered Clock Town, as she recalled it being named, the feeling faded, replaced by the festive atmosphere that pervaded the town. It was somewhat diminished, easily explained away by the damaged outer wall and buildings, but still present. Tyra frowned as she noticed people celebrating and wondered why. "Beaver, Sparrow, I want you two to check around town. Find any supplies we might need and collect some booty. Make sure it's something good, something you've never seen in Logata. I'm going to put my ear to the ground and see what all this fuss seems to be about."
Her shipmates would recognize this as meaning she was getting a drink, but they knew she would anyways, she suspected. She often toasted the success of a voyage after making landfall, and a voyage like this one deserved two toasts.
She headed off through the town, weaving her way between thongs of people while attempting to listen in on their conversations. It seemed Termina spoke the same as Logata, with maybe a few different words here and there. That would make it easier to blend in, although she noticed her sea garb attracted some attention. From the whispers she heard after her passing, it seemed Termina didn't have much in the way of sailors, thanks to a group of Gerudo pirates that plagued the bay. Pirates, eh? And Gerudo no less. Makes sense, they always were thieves, although it's rather ironic that the desert rats of Logata are sharks here.
After a while, she found what seemed to be a good bar, dark with a low ceiling, the kind of climate she liked aboard her ship, minus White Wolf's rocking. She ordered a tankard of whiskey and surveyed the room, noting that there were few present at this early hour. There was one man in the corner, though, who was deep in his cups, judging from his state and the tankards on his table. A wolf stood guard beside him, a rather unusual sight. Unusual enough to bring Tyra over. "Nice dog ya've got there. What's 'is-

"Go **** yourself." Maxwell said, taking a sip of his drink. "It's a wolf, and his name is Shade. Go bother some other unfortunate soul."

"Master, be kind." Shade said, not pleased with Maxwell's response.

"Quiet, Shade." Maxwell said, not in the mood for Shade's retorts.

Tyra frowned. Deeper than she thought, he was talking to the wolf. Growling too, as if he was actually trying to sound like a wolf. Was he really that drunk that he thought he could talk to a beast? That got her blood boiling. If there was one thing she couldn't stand, besides her father, it was a drunkard. Not just any drunkard, but someone who was trying to drink his life away. And this man clearly fit that category. Slumped over a chair, looking as if he hadn't moved in a day, or more, tankards and mugs piled up from excessive liquor consumption, and believing he could talk to animals.
She glanced at the bartender, who was watching with mild interest. "I'm going to make some noise," she called over. "Anything breaks, I'll pay for it." He adopted a look of weary acceptance and ducked behind the counter, clearly used to such an event. She shrugged. Such a place would usually attract such activity. She'd been in many bar fights before.
She cleared the man's table with a sweep of her arm and spun his chair to face her. "Listen to me, boy, she snarled, although she wondered if she actually was much older than this man. "I don't care what you've been through, or what hell you think you've gone through, but nothing justifies drinking yourself drunk, and continue drinking. I don't care if you have family or not, a job or not, any obligations besides this mutt or not. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can justify what you're doing here."

Maxwell looked at Tyra, and began to laugh. It was more of a chuckle at the beginning, but evolved into loud laughter. After about a minute, Maxwell was done, but you could hear a few quiet chuckles. "W-Well, lissten to me, 'girl', hehe. Do you think I care if anything justifies what I'm doing? I'm no angel. N-No. I'm a devil, or a demon, or whatever the hell is worse." Maxwell took another sip, but this one was bigger. He was drunk, but he was more or less used to it by now. He knew he wanted this person to go away.

"Master, please try to be kind."

"Shade, stay out of this pleassse. I don't need you bothering me too.

Tyra slapped him across the face. Hard. "Don't you dare 'girl' me, boy. I've seen hell before, many times over. I'll wager I've got more experience under my belt before you were walkin'. To a captain at sea, ain't nuttin' worse than the fury of the waves, and trust me, you've got nuttin' on that." She stood back, glaring down at him in his chair. "I'm half-tempted to drag you aboard the White Wolf, matter o' fact, just to lick you into shape. Ya ain't a man until you've got salt in your hair and felt a deck beneath yer feet as you rode through one of the sea's typhoons." She turned her gaze to the wolf and noted a look of concern in its eyes. "You know I'm right, mutt. 'E's been 'ere too long. Sun'll do 'im some good, sea'll do 'im more, and I'd wager 'elping Sparrow and Wolf with the sheets during a fierce barrage will do 'im better still." Not that she expected it to understand her, but if he was hallucinating, she might use it to her advantage. Although perhaps mutt was a little harsh for the creature her ship was named for.

Maxwell's anger started to build when Tyra slapped him. Then told him he was less experienced. That he wasn't a man. He stood up, and his hands began to tremble with anger.

"You b-better take that back, GIRL." Maxwell stated defiantly. "You don't know what the hell I've been through! My mother died when I was a child! I MURDERED MY OWN FATHER BEFORE I KNEW RIGHT FROM WRONG! I was put through hell multiple times by cruel masters, and they forged who you see today, s-standing before you, in this **** TAVERN! I bring death to scum l-like you, who make the f-fatal mistake of underestimating me! I..! I could.."

At this point, everyone in the tavern was looking at Tyra and Maxwell. Maxwell had run out of energy, so he was going to stop yelling. He looked at the bartender, who was clearly upset at the commotion he had caused. Maxwell threw his bag of rupees at the bartender, knowing that whatever was in there would cover the expenses.

              "Both of you, out. Now."

Maxwell walked outside of the tavern with Shade, and sat down next to the entrance. He looked up at Tyra standing in front of him, and growled.

              "Just leave me a-alone."

Tyra frowned thoughtfully at the man before her. She had to admit, that was a pretty deep pit he'd come from. Perhaps not as deep as hers, but there really wasn't room to argue. They had two different experiences and arguing about it wouldn't prove one right or the other. After all, she'd grown up the daughter of a merchant, until her mother died. Then her father withdrew and she was forced to take care of her brother. Doing so started her on the path of piracy that she presently followed. While she wasn't cruel as some she knew, she was still an outlaw, and only the bonus of mismatched eyes and her crew's quick thinking kept White Wolf's crew from landing behind bars.
"I'd wager we could argue to the moon and back before either agrees to whose pit is deeper. We were both shaped by cruel masters, I think, and fate the cruelest of all. But there is one thing that we can agree on: the best way to get out of that pit. Drinking yourself away ain't half as good as time with my crew. Close as family, we are, even if we're outlaws in our home port. Can't ask for a more loyal group. You want to take a try at it? I promise you won't be the same after time spent with my crew, Crow." She came up with the nickname on the spot, already resolving to bring this mishap with her, and her crew always had nicknames, even the new guys. She'd come up with something better suited when she got to know him better. Which reminded her, Zulo needed a new nickname. Perhaps Osprey?

Maxwell glared up at Tyra. "You speak non-sense. Termina has no official ports, nor any well-known p-pirates or saliors, aside from the Gerudo. You don't have a home port, unless you're from... Labrynna or something. They might have a port, I don't know. And my name's not Crow."

"What is she saying?" Shade asked Maxwell, not able to understand what Tyra was saying this time around.

"She wants us to join her crew, or something like that. A-Apparently, it'd be good for me."

                  "Crew?" Shade asked, confused.

"She wantss us to sail the seven seas, hardy-har-har!" Maxwell replied, his drunken state coming back to remind Shade his master was intoxicated.

                  "Sail the seven seas?"

"I-Imagine a huge lake, and a thing called a ship that helps us ride across the water." Maxwell said, doing his best to explain what would happen if they went with Tyra. "Some people are just f-fine with the ship, but others get sick from the m-movement, swish!"

"Uhh...well, it doesn't sound too bad. It could help to get away from Termina. We should go."

"Ugh, fine." Maxwell said reluctantly. "Okay, girl, I'll go with you on your ship, with your crew, or whatever."

Tyra couldn't help a laugh as the man consulted with his wolf. She'd have to put him in Felix's care for a while once they returned to the ship, until he was sober. The wolf, no doubt, would want to come along, which might require him to be trained to stay aboard the ship, not leaping into the water. Felix, no doubt, would want him to stay out of the galley too, although her cook was good at keeping people out of his galley. "Then let's see if we can find my crew mates, Crow." She grinned at him and winked. After all, he didn't like the nickname, but since she didn't know his real name, she'd keep calling him that. She might keep calling him that regardless, or at least until she came up with an actual nickname for him.

"Must you yell?" Shade asked, hoping to not get yelled at.

"I do whatever I want, Shade." Maxwell said, getting up. "Ok, wh-where do we go to find your crew? Should I s-start talking like a pirate? Hardy-har, scallywags!"

"Yer lilly-livered land-lubber, ye ain't no clue how one me scurvy dogs talks," Tyra said, adopting what many townsfolk thought was pirate dialect. She grinned. "Well then, Maxwell well, my crew is looking for supplies right now. Likely they're in your version of a market 'bout now. This place is your town; how about you show me where they likely are... Crow." She couldn't help it, his reaction to the nickname was just so amusing. She knew she had to be careful, as he was drunk and like to explode on her, but she didn't think he'd be able to do her much harm. She just had to worry if his wolf would attack if ordered.

                          "No." Shade replied, laying down.
"Wha-what? What are you doing, Sh-Shade? I told you to attack her, so she stops being...mean..."
"After days of experiencing you in this state, I know your judgement is off." Shade said, still refusing to move. "I also know you are lazy in this state. In the pack, we don't let someone just lay around and do nothing. We keep moving. I couldn't get you to move because you are my leader. Now this woman is trying to get you moving again, so I'm all for whatever she wants. I will not attack her. So you get up, and do what she wants."
Maxwell tried to slap Shade, but Shade dodged easily. He had seen it coming, and it was very slow. Maxwell growled, then began to get up. It took him a little, but he eventually got up. Maxwell rubbed his eyes, then thought about what Tyra asked him.The markets....
"The markets...that would be...the part of Clock Town that isn't west. The one opposite of west. I can't remember what it's called...

*Ralatar arrives from Rebellion Base (near Ikana)*

Just listen for his voice, the bartender had said, it wouldn't be hard to pick it out in the mellow evening. After leaving the bar, Ralatar walked along a stretch of buildings, unsure if he was getting warmer or colder in relation to his target, this... Maxwell. His curiosity about the man grew after asking to the bartender about him. He was given a funny look, and was informed that Maxwell had undergone a bit of a blow up in the bar only minutes before. Ralatar had also noticed a celebration in the tavern, and a generally less gloomy atmosphere in town. Maybe word was out that the rebel leader was dead, and it was something to be happy about. If that was true, then once Ral turned in his sack of apples, he would be a Clocktown hero. And of course, he would be a good thousand rupees richer. Unless, there was possibly something to this that he didn't know about...
Not long into his walk, Ral caught the sound of a man's angry yells, and he followed the voice whenever he could. His suspicion that this was his man was confirmed when the man yelled his name. Finally Ral was looking at the man from across a plaza, and he confidently approached, clutching the sack. The was also a woman with Max, standing in clothes of a fashion he could not say he had ever seen before. It appeared she had been giving the man a hard time. She had to be some type of an outlaw. Looked plenty shady to Ralatar. Yet, there was something about her that was admirable to him, he couldn't say what.
"Good evening, ma'am," Ral said smugly, nodding to the woman. "Maxwell." He faced the man now, greeting him almost as if they were friends already. "This should brighten your mood." With that, he plopped the sack on the ground between them with a smile. A few green apples rolled out, though there was something else in there, obviously not apple-shaped. The head of a wanted man. Everyone would be going to sleep happy tonight. He thought.

Maxwell looked at the apples, and the head that accompanied them. He was so angry that for a while, he refused to talk. Shade began to growl at the newcomer, ready to attack when ordered. Eventually, Maxwell looked up, and glared into Ralatar's eyes.
"You...think you will get payed for bringing his head. You think that I-I'm stupid enough to think you killed him. Well, guess what? I know who killed him...he goes by the name of Maxwell Kal."
As Maxwell talked, Shade moved around Ralatar, getting in a position to stop him from running away if he tried.
"P-Pick up the **** apples and leave, you...whatever you are. I don't want to see you ever again."
