(I put this in Great Bay cuz I figured we wouldn't be in the field for long)

    *From Rebellion Base*

As much as Donovan would miss the group he and Kaida were leaving behind, he felt relief for being back in their home nation on their own. It’s a good thing they didn’t get caught up in the war, too. He found it ironic how the only two Terminans in the group were the only two to not fight for Termina. He was confused about why the Hylians would want to take part in it. Maybe once he was in better health he would help fight if the war situation got worse. That wouldn’t be for a while though. He would need to heal in Great Bay, or at least rest a lot. What he wanted most was to spend time with just Kaida and take a break from the action of the last few days, which he was finally going to get. He worried a bit about what was going on with Clocktown, but tried not to think about it for a while.
As the duo rode across the field avoiding any more people, Donovan’s arms remained around Kaida and he didn’t bother speaking. He was looking forward to a restful night at the coast.

(Sorry, didn't really leave anything to reply to. You could just skip on to the Bay, I guess)

Kaida patted Donovan's leg as they rode towards Great Bay. "Are you upset that we left? That I don't want to fight for those 'rebels'?" She was mildly curious, since he was certainly more honorable than her. She would only fight for someone for money or as a favor, either that she could call on later or as pay-back for one she had previously called upon. Fighting with that hoard would be a favor so large no one could really pay it off, and they had already said they wouldn't really be able to pay her. So the best thing for her to do would be to stay out of the way for now, and just let the dust settle.
She scowled slightly as they trotted into Great Bay, as she spotted one of the Gerudo Pirates' small ships out to sea. She had forgotten about them in her desire to get away from the world for a while. At least the fortress was further to the north and she and Donovan would be unlikely to run into the pirates themselves for a while. And if the greedy dark-skinned women did come around, Kaida would just have to introduce them to Flame.

"Nah," Donovan told Kaida. He was sure he didn't regret leaving the group in any way. "I don't want anything to do with that mess for now. I can't fight anyways." When he stopped speaking, a yawn escaped Donovan. "I can't wait to get to Great Bay, though."

Kaida smiled, happy he didn't hold her lack of interest against her. "Well, we're here," she said as the horse's hoofs beat against soft sand. She brought him to a stop, then dismounted, groaning at the effort. She glanced out to the ocean, smiling as she saw the water tinged red from the setting sun. "We should be safe here for now," she said, helping Donovan dismount.

"Thank the Giants," Donovan sighed when they finally arrived at Great Bay. It was quiet besides the gentle wash of the waves on the sand, and it looked like the night would be very peaceful. He let Kaida help him off the saddle he had been sitting on for so long, and stared at the ocean for a while. With the sun setting behind it, the view was beautiful, especially since he hadn't seen the bay for so long. "Beautiful..." he said quietly before taking his eyes off the water. He looked around for a place to sleep for the night. Normally just laying down in the sand would be fine, but with his new injuries he thought it may not be the same. It didn't look like he had any better options, and besides his injuries, he liked sleeping on the beach, so he decided to give it a try. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, and just Kaida's presence helped too. Donovan walked away from the horse towards the water a little and sat down with his arms around his knees. He watched as the sun dipped further down, and his eyes were already beginning to feel heavy. It had been a tiring few days, especially the past one. "Wanna just sleep here?" he asked Kaida to make sure she was okay with sleeping in the sand. It was still quite different from the bed he had sunk into the night before.

Kaida sat beside Donovan, her eyes watching the water suspiciously. While she wasn't exactly terrified of the liquid, she had a distrust of it after her time with the Pirates. Plus, they were near the fortress, and she wanted to make sure they didn't sneak up on her, as they had before, with her brother Alex. "Sure, this is fine," she said distractedly. It was unlikely she'd be able to sleep, especially when night meant the Like-likes would come out. But she knew how to keep them away well enough. They would come around, but once she killed one, or even two, they'd leave the pair alone. The real problem, though, would be the pirates. If they spotted a fire, they'd come investigate, and Kaida thought she remembered that the Great Bay area got pretty chilly after the sun, with the wind blowing cool air off the water. This is going to be a long night.

Donovan laid down in the light sand beside Kaida. It was a much different scene than the night before, and he thought a much better, more beautiful one. He preferred a ceiling of stars way more than a ceiling of wood. The calm sound of waves washing the shore seemed to wash all his troubles from the past day away as well, and as the moon rose in the sky he found himself struggling to keep his eyes open. He couldn't think too much but established that he liked Termina much more than Hyrule--too many bad things had happened to him in one day in Hyrule. Termina on the other hand, symbolized freedom. He didn't have to wonder about his family anymore and really didn't want to know any more anyways, and in Termina he didn't have to deal with giant birds and devil-men with green skin. As Donovan rested, the fiery pain from before had died down a bit. He turned on his side and gently laid an arm on Kaida. Just her presence made him feel safe from anything.
"Night, K...," was all he could manage before dozing off like a baby, his mind free of any worries.

(I was thinking of just ignoring monsters and stuff for the night. But we could do something interesting for the morning, like pirates or just traveling somewhere else.)

Kaida gave a half-smile as Donovan fell asleep beside her. He obviously had no trouble sleeping here. She could understand why, it was fairly peaceful. And as the moon rose, turning the sea silver, she wished she could have the same ease as her companion. Like-likes didn't approach, for which she was thankful, but they were the least of her concerns.
"Great Bay," she muttered. "You've stolen from me before. You stole my brother Alex. You stole ten years of my life. You've taken away my childhood, my innocence, and made me so much older than I really am. You and those cursed Pirates who call you home." And even now, after all these years, she still hated the smell of salt water, the sound of water beating the shore, the feel of sand underneath her. They all brought back to mind the years she was a slave to the Pirates. Her old scars twinged as she remembered how she earned each and every one of them. Her lips slowly pulled back in a snarl as she glared at the water.
The night passed quickly, but she barely noticed as her mind was still focused on her past when the sun rose.

The sun had been glaring down on the Great Bay coast for a while before it woke Donovan from his slumber in the sand. Blinding light seized his vision as he opened his eyes. He couldn't see anything but whiteness, and Donovan didn't realize he was on a beach until he noticed the sound of waves crashing in the distance. He shifted his body a bit in the sand to be reminded of his burning muscles. Once he regained his sight, he remembered why he was there, and why the aches were all somewhat worth it--for the sake of a true adventure, and new friendships. The pain had eased enough that it wasn't considered torture anymore, and he finally managed to sit up and look around for Kaida. "Good morning, Kaida," he mumbled drowsily when he found her already awake. He felt like he'd gotten more sleep than usual. He paused for a bit as his eyes almost drifted shut again. "We better work on some breakfast..." He looked around, trying to think of what he had eaten before by the Great Bay. Usually he could find some coconuts that were safe to drink from. There were also plenty of fish in the water, but he didn't have any proper fishing equipment.

Morning," Kaida ground out. She was stiff from sitting still so long, and the chilly night air hadn't put her in a good mood. She was also tired from not having slept, and tense from being in Great Bay. No, the huntress was not in a very good mood. She was more than ready to get moving and find somewhere else to be. The only reason they had come here in the first place was because Donovan hadn't been his best. Personally, she preferred hiding out in Snowhead, when she had to hide away from the town, but she didn't trust those blistering cold crags with a hurting man, despite having proven himself strong. Now that he seemed to have recovered, maybe they could leave this cursed beach and go to a better hiding place.

When Kaida spoke, Donovan thought he heard a tone of voice different from before. He looked over at her from where he lounged in the sand, and quickly noticed a sleepy shade of purple below her catlike eyes. He could tell that she wasn't having too great a time. "Everything alright?" he asked, though there was clearly something fishy going on. He just couldn't figure out what that might be.

She scowled. "Great Bay and I don't get along real well, and that's all you need to know. The sooner we get away from here the better. But we can't go into Termina Field as long as that war is going on, and I doubt you'd survive in my preferred area anyways." She stood and stretched. "I'll be better if we are moving. Let's go."

Donovan struggled to his feet with a quiet grunt, his rested muscles not wanting to move. He walked towards Kaida and stumbled a bit, getting a dizzy, lightheaded feeling. For a moment, the beach's sands brightened to a piercing white that blinded him. His vision soon adjusted, but the slight dizziness lingered on. He reached Kaida and they began walking down the coast with no particular destination in mind. He couldn't piece together her problem with Great Bay, but figured it would be best not to ask. He gently grabbed her hand in an attempt to comfort her, hoping she wouldn't reject it. "Then where might we go?" he asked. "I feel better today, I'll go anywhere you want." Donovan didn't feel great, but it was true that he was doing better.
