    Jacky finished scrubbing out her bowl and frowned when she saw Gerrard on the log. Walking over, she sat softly next to him and put her elbows on her knees, propping up her head with folded hands. "Are you okay, Gerrard?" she asked. She hadn't seen him wash his mouth out, and assumed he was anxious about the upcoming journey. "Nervous?"

      His pounding head and the laughter nearly drowned out the voice of Jacky that burst through like a bubble. His vision swam as he looked at Jacky, her worried face complimented how worried her voice sounded. It's nothing, he grimaced out. If he didn't think about it, it couldn't hurt him. But that didn't help the headache, or the laughter. His vision swam and suddenly the sea air was doing more bad than good. He felt as if he were about to hurl right on the sand and he put his head back in his hands as the laughter refused to stop.

        She scooted a little closer and rubbed his back with one hand. "Do you want some fresh water? You look kind of sick." Jackylin scanned the campsite, trying to find Sephira. When her siblings got sick, she put them in bed and got them what they called "the sick pot". It sat next to the bedframe so they could lean over and throw up instead of getting up and running to the bathroom. Of course, Gerrard was a little old for this, and the sand and the sea really could serve for a "sick pot".

          His head pounded to his heartbeat, like a drum making a painful beat. The laughter was still there, quieter, but it lay in the back of his mind, the vision flashing before his eyes again.
          "Wait", he managed to choke out. His vision pulsated to his head. He raised his eyes slightly, flinching when light hit his sensitive eyes.

          "I", his head pounded, "I got a glimpse of Sephira's scar." Gerrard took several deep breaths, he didn't want to appear crazy, but Jacky was one of the few people he thought he could trust and he could not keep it to himself.

          "I had a vision, a flashback a dagger, the laughter, I can still hear it. Gerrard thrust his head back in his hands and clenched his eyes shut. I've gotta make them believe, I'm not insane, I had a flashback.

            Jackylin wrapped one arm around Gerrard, and then another, snaking it between his chest and his arms, shushing him. "You're okay, this kinda thing happens a lot, her scar just triggered it." This wasn't something that had happened before, but she'd seen it a time or two in her time at the Rebel's Camp. Panic attacks. "Just breathe." she probably shouldn't be hugging him, rather giving him space, but she felt like he needed it.

              James partially smiled when Sephira said she wanted to keep Shane waiting, though he didn't wholly share in her opinion. It'd be in their best interest not to get on Shane's bad side any more. He didn't know anything about the guy, but already he had a bad feeling about him. He walked around the camp, helping pack up their things while the others chatted. He began wondering how it'd feel to be on a boat when Gerrard seemed to start becoming ill. "You alright?" He hadn't heard what Gerrard had told Jacky, but he could see he still looked pale and indisposed.

              Elwood had worked his way through the entire bowl of soup he'd been given. He couldn't say he particularly enjoyed the taste as much as he had enjoyed the smell, but it suited his empty stomach just as well. When Sephira posed a question he was putting a small bag around his shoulders, thinking he might help carry the things this time around. He looked up at her. "I'm not sure if I'm ready. All my life I've lived surrounded by green, and now we are going into the blue. I think I'm nervous, but it really sounds like it'll be a nice adventure!"

                Gerrard stood to his feet, ignoring the laughing and angrily muttering at his head. I'm fine, he grimaced to James. He was dimly aware that he sounded angry, but each word caused his head to hurt even more, so he didn't bother explaining. He finished his packing, slinging his pack onto his back and squinting his eyes at the bright lights. He was ready to go, screw the laughing and the flashbacks, Gerrard was going to let nothing stop his journey to a new life.

                  Inga had been hungry enough to not have much of a problem finishing her bowl of soup, and the fact that she was filled up now would help her go longer without having to stop and eat again. She had been listening to James and Sephira talking nearby, but had nothing to contribute since she wouldn't be joining them. Elwood spoke as she walked over to clean her bowl, and she felt a weak irritation in her stomach. There was something about what he had said that she didn't like. She just felt the sting of worry as she realized that the "blue" might not be a good thing at all. There was a chance that the group's voyage into the ocean could just be a death sentence. But she still didn't know what these people were trying to escape, so she couldn't tell if setting out for the sea would be worth it. However, she had kept herself from getting attached to the group so she didn't care too much about what would happen to them. She just didn't like the thought that the kokiri, and the rest, thought they were embarking on a fun new adventure, when really they were being sailed to nowhere but the end of their days.
                  Inga realized she had been staring off to sea and snapped out of it, bringing her clean bowl back to Sephira. "I'm not sure where you guys plan on going, but whatever you do, keep safe," she told Sephira when she reached her, handing her the bowl. She tried to speak in a tone that wouldn't aggravate Sephira, in case the Stari wouldn't like what she had to say. "Who knows what's waiting for you out there. I just hope this won't be a decision you'll regret."

                    Sephira looked over as Gerrard collapsed on the sand. He recovered rather quickly, though, and quickly assured James and Jacky he was alright. While she was still a little concerned, she decided not to bother him with it and smiled at Elwood. "I've never been on the deep blue either, so I'm nervous too. You want to know something else?" she added, lowering her voice. "Star's scared of water. Would you mind staying with her and Midnight, so they don't get too scared?" Midnight would be fine, she knew, although he might get underfoot. Star would be a bit freaked by the water, but not so much that she'd need comfort, although she would keep it to herself. The real reason Sephira wanted Elwood with them was to keep the young Kokiri out of trouble.
                    She glanced up at Inga's careful words. She recognized the Sheikah was speaking as if to a aggressive animal and couldn't help smiling. She'd mostly recovered from her temper tantrum of the day before, so Inga didn't need to worry about her lashing out. However, the smile faded as she took in Inga's words. "So do I," she murmured. "So do I." She straightened and looked at the others. "We ready to go?"

                    • Elwood's eyes grew as wide as plates. The chance to prove that he was a responsible boy that could take care of others was like none other. "Of course I'd stay with her!" he exclaimed, then quickly realized Star might not be too happy about her secret fear of water being revealed. He lowered his voice to a whisper and spoke up to Sephira. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to keep them safe." He grinned, having been ready to go since he had woken up.

                      James eyed Gerrard curiously. It was quite obvious something was causing him to look haggard, and his mood to be extremely irritable. However, it didn't seem like he was willing to talk about it, at least not at the moment, so he just let the matter go to rest. He turned to Sephira, pack already hanging from his shoulder and all his weapons sheathed in place. "Ready when you are," he smiled, and looked at the others. Most of them were just standing around, waiting to start walking. Ea was just finishing kicking sand over the remains of the fire, hiding their presence on the beach. Tennor and Tenning were whispering about something at the far side of the group, then laughing and giggling about it, but they looked all set and ready to go. Taking a few steps forward, James turned to look at them again, and smiled. "Well, then, lets get going, guys. That guy said the ship shouldn't be hard to find, lets hope it's true."

                      ~~~~
                      The three masts of the ship spread high into the air, sails still bound by rope. Along the wooden side, painted in bright snaking silver were the words Silver Snake, glistening. People were running about aboard, carrying supplies down to the cargo, making sure there were no cracks in the hull, preparing the chambers of those who were soon to come. Everyone was enveloped in a mixture of anxiousness, nervousness, and expectancy. This was the first trek they were embarking on in weeks, not to mention the longest one they were probably ever going to experience. After all, they were being instructed to sail out into the emptiness, with no idea of what they might find. Their captain was barking orders up and down the deck, clearly irritated by the last minute announcement the night before of an impending journey. Meanwhile, Shane sat on a wooden bench by the ramp leading onboard, gently biting away at some freshly picked strawberries. It wasn't the season, nor the right location for strawberries to grow, so they were all the more sweeter in knowing he had his hands on them. He was waiting for the group he knew would eventually come, regardless of what happened. He had known all along, and the show the night before had simply been to get a measure of everyone in the group. And now that he did, he was confident in how the trek would turn out. The ship was the largest docked at the moment, and he had taken extreme care in making sure every inch of its hull was painted black, something not many other ships did. The group would see the ship before he saw them, and he was glad for that. It size would hopefully impress any remaining doubts out of their minds. He took another strawberry into his mouth, and sat back.
                      • Gerrard walked along with the group, trying to focus more on the sand beneath his feet than the laughter that pounded inside his head. He rose over a short incline and gasped as he saw the ship that awaited them. The ship was giant, and its three masts thrust towards the sky as if to touch the clouds itself. The ship was also painted a solid black, the paint looked to be relatively new also, so Gerrard had no idea of the purpose. It did make the vessel look more intimidating. Gerrard, after realizing he had paused, began his trek towards the vessel again. He stopped by the ramp where the cloaked man from last night stood, eating strawberries, which was odd since they should be out of season. It was there that Gerrard stood, putting a hand over his head to try to help alleviate the headache.
                        • Jackylin had gathered up her stuff and started following the group towards the boat, giddy for her new adventure. Then, she thought to herself, would she get back home in one piece, or would she be shipped in a container. It was a morbid thought, but the thought of being unable to see her family again before she died was more morbid to her. She bit her lip and trekked over the hill to take in the vessel. It was huge, with masts tickling the sky and paint as dark as the bottom of the ocean they'd surely sail over. She overcame her sadness and hurried to stand near the ramp with Gerrard. "Aren't you gonna board?" she asked, glancing briefly to Shane and regarding him with less than a nod.
                          • Gerrard looked back up at the ship as the others appeared beside him, it was even bigger close up. The crew bustled around the ship as ants do their nest, preparing this and that whilst Shane still sat there calmly. Gerrard barely heard Jacky over his headache, and the laughter with it, and turned to her.
                            "I don't know how this all works," he said with a nod towards Shane, "it is his ship. Maybe we have to ask permission or something, I would rather not get on his wrong side when we'll be in the same close space with him for the next while."
                            • Sephira couldn't help raising an eyebrow as the ship came into view. It was a large structure, painted black as if to look intimidating. Its three masts stretched tall as trees, while its name, Silver Snake, curled along its side. It seemed rather impressive, and she had to wonder, if Shane was the owner of such a bulky ship, why couldn't he order the crew to sail where he desired? Surely he was powerful enough to command them, and rich enough to make it worth their while regardless of the intended purpose. After all, he wasn't make her group pay passage, so it really wasn't any different, only they were bringing land folk aboard, which she suspected would be treated with as much disdain by the sailors as her people had treated city folk.
                              She glanced at Gerrard and Jacky as they paused by the gangplank and frowned at them. Was he okay? Holding his head like that, he seemed to have a headache. From what, though? She'd admit, the sun was a little overpowering coming off the water, but otherwise she couldn't think of anything. Must not have be a big one then, she decided, and turned her attention to Shane.
                              The cloaked man was sitting on a bench, eating fruit like a nobleman. She snorted as her mind made the comparison. She despised those kind of noblemen, who looked down on lesser people as slaves, or lower. She glanced over her shoulder at the others, wondering if it was really worth dealing with him. Then her gaze fixed on Elwood walking between Star and Midnight, and her expression softened. To keep him safe, it will have to be. Then she turned back, squared her shoulders and strode up the gangplank to meet their benefactor.
                              • Shane smiled widely as the group approached the ship, content with how mesmerized they looked. He stood and spread his arms in welcome. "I see the morning has risen you up with newfound spirit. Welcome, all of you. This beauty behind me is Silver Snake, and try not to drag sand aboard, she hates that." He got closer to Sephira, and in the process noticed the man beside her with a peculiar curiosity which he kept very well hidden from his expressions. He looked Gerrard straight in the eyes, sensing some form of inner turmoil, particularly from the pained complexion and hand on his forehead. He kept staring into his eyes for a few seconds, then smiled pleasantly. "It's good to have you here," he said quietly, then louder for the others, "all of you. Feel free to step aboard now, but don't forget to kiss the ground before you do. Who knows how long it'll be before you step on firm land again. Lets just hope you don't miss it too much when we're in the middle of the unknown, with nothing but blue dangerous water stretching out for leagues on every side." He let the sound of his words sink in, then frowned. "Well, go on then! We've already lost precious minutes of sunlight, lets not lose anymore."
                                He let the group waddle awkwardly up the plank to the ship, while he smiled at Sephira and gave a curteous nod. "My lady." James hurried to stand next to her then, staring at Shane with disdain. Yet, he managed to spit out a few words of thanks in the most comely tone he could muster.
                                Elwood, excited, began rushing up the ramp, tripped, slipped and crashed down face first. His feet began sliding off the side, but he managed to pull himself back up and rushed the rest of the way up without any further impediments. He had never seen such a large ship, or any ship at all, and he was at a loss for words.
