  • Gerrard's attention was drawn when the man began speaking. Welcoming them to his ship with arms outstretched. He looked down for a moment, trying to stop the light from paining his head, when he felt as if he was being watched. He snapped his head up, only to see Shane staring into his eyes. Gerrard awkwardly looked away after a few moments, and the laughter began again. It bounced through his head at a new and escalated intensity and for a second Gerrard was paralyzed. He shook it off after a few moments and trudged up to the ship along with the rest. His feet felt sturdy on the black wood, and it felt odd knowing he had touched land for possibly the last time.

    • Jacky had listened to Shane's shpiel, and wondered if anybody would actually kiss the sand goodbye. It wasn't really her style, but maybe if she was sassier like a Rito from a faraway land. Then she would literally kiss the sand goodbye. But this was Termina, this was now, and she was boarding a ship to who knew where? She boarded the boat after Gerrard, listening to her boots clunk against the thin wood of the plank, and then heavier against the thick wood of the deck. Over the other side the sun was reflecting on the water, sporting an obnoxious bright light. She shielded her eyes against it.

      • Midnight nudged Elwood as the boy slipped, just to be sure he was alright. Elwood didn't even seem to notice his fall and continued to rush aboard. Midnight barked with laughter and rushed after him, chasing him across the deck, much to the annoyance of the crew. Star rolled her eyes at the both of them and went to sit next to Sephira, her legs unsteady with the rocking boat.
Sephira was more comfortable with the rocking motion. Trees swung more in the wind than the ship did below her feet, and unlike wind, the waves had a predictable pattern, disrupted every now and then by a slightly stronger or weaker wave. It was easy for her to adjust and sway with the ship as she walked across the deck to the front. "Din watch us," she breathed, glancing over her shoulder at the sun. "Nayru protect us, and Farore guide us safely." She patted Star's head, then turned to the others. "Ready at your command, captain," she called. Not that her input was really required, the captain would wait at Shane's leisure, but she still felt it necessary to say so. Let's see where this broken tree takes us, she thought, turning again to face the water.

        • When the time came for Sephira's pack to make their way towards their means of sea travel, Inga gave her final goodbyes and walked over to where she had roped her horse up to a lone palm tree a ways from the shore. On the way she picked up her still half-full sack of clams. She had a feeling horses weren't big fans of clam meat, but this one was hungry enough that it gladly snatched up a few handfuls from Inga, almost taking her hand off as well. Once she was sure the steed was well fed, she untied her and hopped in the saddle.
The time was near that Inga would have to be back home, for she was supposed to be mentoring that boy when she disappeared with Donovan. A good nagging was waiting for her at the village, she knew. However, before she got home she would have to take some detours. There would be no fun in just retracing her path back, and part of the reason she had stuck with Sephira's group was for the sake of curiosity.
Inga glanced back at the empty beach one last time from where she sat atop the horse. It was a less pleasant sight in the plain daylight. And now that the fire pit was no more than a few chunks of charred wood and the logs circling it were no longer inhabited by resting travelers, it just looked like a lonely place. She saw Sephira's group already a good distance down the beach, but besides them there was not a soul in sight. She set her eyes back ahead and set the horse into a calm trot back towards the grassy field, no exact aim for what route she was going to take to get back to Hyrule.
