James couldn't say he was surprised to have found a giant group of people out in the field. Not because he had been expecting to find one, but because he had had no idea what to expect from Termina. For all he knew it could have been customary of the place for people to congregate in large quantities over the field. No, he wasn't surprised. He was, however, wary of the people. Specially so after hearing Kaida's and Donovan's comments. Looking far behind the improvised settlement he could see the outlines of a large walled town. It did look like it had been under attack recently, supporting Kaida's words about leadership changing hands. The walls were injured, the gates sealed shut, he'd never seen anything like it. However, one thought popped into his mind. If the town is under siege, then could this people be the ones performing it? After all, they do seem very well armed... As soon as he thought this, a group of six broke off from the main assortment. His muscles tensed, his eyes became sharply focused and all his other senses were heightened in the expectance of battle. It didn't take the yelling from the people for him to taste the flavor of bitterness. They weren't welcomed, that seemed obvious.
Elwood couldn't really understand what was going on. Why was everyone so jumpy about a lot of people? To him it all seemed like a game. Sometimes the kids in Kokiri Forest gathered outside to talk and play as well. So why would it be any different with these people?
The person who seemed to be the leader referred to their group, and James listened and watched carefully everything he said. His voice seemed relaxed, welcoming, but it had an edge to it. It seemed like he was not naturally polite, instead he was trying to be when addressing their group. His movements weren't relaxed either. To James this meant two things. One, they were as wary of the others as the others were of them. And two, the guy didn't want to be on the bad side of the group. At least, not yet or he didn't want them to think so. Still, James was ready to take no chances. The guy asked for their leader, and to James it was clear that person was Sephira. He stepped up to her side and took the Bow of Light from his back. He drew back the bowstring, tensing it. Automatically a light arrow endowed with magic shimmered into existence already nocked into place, only kept by James' hand. He had gotten used to it by now, the magical properties of the Bow of Light and Light Arrows. However, he remembered the day he'd found it and how overwhelmed by its power he had been. Not now, he thought, now I could very well take out the entire group, or at least die trying. He didn't, however, aim it at the man talking. Not yet, at least. These people weren't being hostile yet, so he was not going to be the one to start up a fight. But he wanted to be ready, just in case. So held the bow and arrow in his hands, tensed, a moment's notice before firing.
"Who is he that asks for our own. yet presents no proper introduction?" James inquired calmly, standing firmly to the right of his leader and girlfriend. He enunciated every word, making sure to send a clear and assertive message across.

Edward made eye contact with James and smiled. Of course, he forgot to introduce himself. If he had been in James' position, Edward would've asked them same question.

"I'm Edward Lomeli, leader of this camp that you see behind me. I come asking about your leader because I wish to ask them a few questions about your group and how you plan to move through Termina.
      Does anybody have more questions?"
Edward started to feel weird about this group. It was certainly a mixed bunch, so they must've ran into each other and formed one big group, meaning there would be other strong opinions in this group besides the leader's. This might be a problem, seeing as the leader might agree to help the rebellion, but a few others may not want to, which might tip them in the direction of moving on.

      This might take a while....

Meanwhile, Zeb was still in the back, and not able to recognize the group. He thought he remembered the person who questioned Edward, but his name and identity evaded him.

Tenning wandered over, interested to see the new group. They definitley weren't from around here... how he knew that he didn't know, but something just felt... off about them.

Tennor looked at the pair and felt that he couldn't trust this... Edward. He couldn't exactly place his feelings on this group.

Kaida chuckled. "Well, Edward, we were about to split up. I'm Kaida Dragon Songsword, and I plan to head to Clock Town with my friend Donovan here, although we might head to Great Bay instead. I have no interest in getting tangled up in a civil war, thankyouverymuch." She paused and frowned thoughtfully. "Unless I'm paid well enough," she added.

Sephira rolled her eyes at the woman. Greedy to the core, aren't you. I'm surprised you've lived so long. She noticed James move to stand next to her, a bow in his hands. She raised an eyebrow as she noticed the knocked arrow was made of light, and wondered if it was James' power that made it so. After all, she could use fire to make arrows as well, although it was difficult to keep it from damaging the bow.
She took a step closer to Edward. "I'm Princess Sephira Phoenix, and I lead this group. We come from Hyrule and have no quarrel with you or your people." She looked at the other members of the group that had approached her own and frowned as she saw one she thought she recognized. She couldn't make out his features exactly though, so she dismissed the thought as unimportant.

Zeb flinched. He heard that voice before. He pushed his way to the front of his group, and he saw he was correct. It was Sephira. Was he still angry form last time? Well, yes. As unreasonable as it sounds, yes.

Before he could start throwing punches, Edward pulled Zeb back.

"Zeb, can you please tell me why you are showing aggression to this new group?" Edward asked, not making eye contact with Zeb.

For Zeb, this was embarrassing. He was being held back like a child in front of Sephira, her crew, and some from the camp could probably see what was happening. He broke free of Edward's grasp, only to be restricted again.

"If you have any small children, please tell them to close their eyes." Edward gave the group about ten seconds, then...well, put Zeb in line by beating the crap out of him.

"Zeb, you agreed to be under my leadership. That means following my orders. When I said back off, you knew you should've backed off. You also said you could take any extra punishment I wished to add. I still don't understand why you agreed to the last one, but you said it would help you change, even though in pratice it doesn't look like that's happening. Now go back to camp, listen to what I say, or else next time is going to be twice the beating and a demotion."

As Zeb struggled to get back to the camp, Edward sighed and shook his head.

"Well, that was the leader of the raider part of the camp, Zebulon. He and I have always disagreed on our methods while making plans. He always prefers more...aggressive methods, while I come up with the strategy that actually works. The only reason I stand him is because he does his job exceedingly well. His group is the reason that the camp looks like a camp. Otherwise, you'd just see a bunch of people standing there." Edward stopped for a little, trying to remember something, then remembered it.

"Anyways, sorry about the violence there. Normally, you won't see that in the camp unless two or more men get drunk or there's an intense argument. Also, agreeing to extra rules like Zeb did will not guarantee you a higher position. He was just in the right place at the right time, though I'm starting to think otherwise. Now, Princess Sehpira, since you have no quarrel with my group, I have important information about what is happening in Termina right now, and will most certainly help you travel through the land. However, if you so wish, you can rush off, but I cannot guarantee you will not be forced into Clock Town or attacked."

And as for you, Kaida..." Edward said, making eye contact. "If you wish to be paid, you have two chocies. In Clock Town, there's a guy you might like by the name of Maxwell, who would pay you very much for my head on a silver platter. If you prefer good morals but relatively low pay over possibly the most arrogant person in Termina and relatively high pay, then stick with us. I would not suggest heading to Great Bay till this all blows over."

Inga playfully held her hand over Elwood's eyes as a joke when Edward spoke, but she then realized that he was actually being serious when he pummeled the guy he called Zeb. She was a bit surprised at it, and was curious about Zeb's aggressive attitude towards the traveler group. But her mind was taken off of that after Edward finished speaking. It appeared that Inga finally stumbled into Termina at the wrong time. Now where would she go? She had no place in this war--she was Hylian. She would be surprised if the other Hylians joined in, but there was always the possibility. It just didn't seem like this war could affect Hyrule much. As for Donovan and Kaida, being Terminians they would be more likely to fight, but it was clear that they were trying to avoid fighting too. It would be a good option to keep traveling with the two Terminians if they hadn't wanted to be alone so much, and she respected what they wanted. Donovan was safe with Kaida too, as long as she didn't for some reason leave him. Inga would just have to wait and see how things worked out.

Donovan sighed when Edward told them that they shouldn't even head to the Great Bay. It felt like they were trapped in the field only to get caught up in this stupid war that Donovan had no interest in taking part of. Sure, it sounded like it would be nice if these rebels would succeed in getting rid of the Maxwell guy, but Donovan wasn't much of a fighter, especially after being banged up by that dumb desert bird. He was marked with bloody spots scattered from head to toe and his muscles burned like hell. It would be even worse if Kaida ended up going for Edward's money option, but he didn't think she would be that greedy.
"Is there anywhere we can go to just avoid all this?" Donovan sighed from his black horse's saddle, determined to find a way out of the war without leaving the country completely. "I'm sorry, but we just have nothing to do with this war... And I'm in no fighting shape anyways."

Sephira stared at Zeb in surprise. What was he doing here? It had been awhile since she'd seen the man back in Hyrule. Why was he in Termina? How did he even get here? She nearly opened her mouth to protest Edward's treatment of him when she remembered how she and James had parted ways with Zeb. She clenched her jaw firmly and decided to ignore him. "Your offer is appreciated, Edward, and I thank you for keeping Zebulon from doing my people harm. If it really is your opinion that we'd be in danger crossing the field, perhaps it is best if we remain with you, at least for now. I have an injured man and a child with me, so we would be going too slowly to avoid any ambush or other attacks." She gestured to James and Elwood. She was tempted to include Donovan as well, but Kaida had made it clear she was taking him somewhere else.

Kaida raised an eyebrow at Sephira's title. Princess? Of what? And why hadn't she mentioned that before, when she introduced herself to Kaida, Donovan, and Inga? Was it just to impress on this stranger that she needed to be treated with respect? Kaida smiled. It was probably just a ruse. After all, the huntress had played herself off as a countess before. A princess couldn't be that much harder.
"I take it you don't know my reputation, Master Edward," she said. "I am the Dragon. I can go wherever I please. I have broken into places that few could, and escaped again without alerting anyone. If I choose to go to Great Bay, I will go to Great Bay. Your warning is appreciated, though," she added with a smile, "just unnecessary, especially with night approaching." She turned to Donovan and her tone softened. "Do you want to keep Chaldur and Ash, or should we go on foot from here?" Can you go on foot? He looked exhausted, and she wasn't sure if he'd be able to walk. She'd be willing to put up with riding again if it meant he wouldn't have to suffer, but it would be easier to sneak around if they weren't riding the noisy, hoofed creatures.

Donovan found it a bit strange how he really only heard Kaida's softer tone when she was speaking to him or her panther companion, but figured it just came from a natural sense of trust. Thinking back to their first days together, she had used to use a more alert tone when they talked. He was sure that it wasn't anything to worry about, it probably kept them extra safe. He looked down at his foot when she asked about how they would travel. One ankle looked pretty bad, but the added up pain in the rest of his body made it hard to tell how bad. It seemed like putting much weight on it wouldn't be a good idea.
"I think it would be best if I stayed on here," he told Kaida, unsure of how willing she was to ride a horse at the moment. "You can walk or ride behind me or do whatever you want." He guessed that she wasn't too interested in riding Ash. "If you don't want to use Ash, he may be a help to someone." By someone, he meant either the rebels or someone in Sephira's group.

James relaxed just the smallest amount when Edward introduced himself without hesitation. However, the arrow remained at the ready and he could feel its energy flowing through him. One sudden movement against them, and the so-called leader of the camp would be flying through the air in a hundred different pieces. He knew the bow was capable of such feats, if he willed it to be. He couldn't help but smile as Sephira introduced herself. Princess, he could bet Edward wouldn't expect that.
He listened to the talk calmly until Zebulon's interruption. As soon as he pushed his way into view, James tensed. He remembered Zebulon clearly from their last encounter. In a tenth of a second his arms were outstretched, aiming the weapon directly as the spot between Zeb's eyes. He would've liked nothing more but the guy to take one more step in their direction. A single sign of hostility. He wasn't about to let him or hid old man friend get the better of him, wherever he was. Not again. Except, just then Edward restrained Zeb. He didn't know what was happening, but he did understand that he wouldn't be shooting Zebulon just yet. He put down the bow as the guy receded into the camp. He sighed, and kept a heavy stare at Edward, waiting. The arrow was still there, pulsating with anticipation.
Just then he heard Sephira agree to staying at the camp. James couldn't say he was pleased, specially since she referred to him as an injured man, but he had no choice. He followed her, and if she wanted to stay, he'd stay. Elwood didn't really understand anything of what was going on. He just knew it seemed like they were finally going to get some rest. As much as he enjoyed the creature he was riding, his body was beginning to let go for the night. He needed some well deserved sleep.
James took a deep breath, and moved a bit closer to Sephira. He whispered so no one but her could hear, and made sure to keep his mouth as still as possible. He didn't need anyone reading his lips. "Are you sure about this? I'll stay if you stay, but, I don't trust them. Not with that Zebulon guy being the leader of the raids," he mumbled. It was true, and a glint in his eye at the place where Zebulon had disappeared into the group reassured him of his stand on the whole matter. He waited now, either for Edward to welcome their stay at the camp, or for Sephira to change her mind. It seemed he was waiting a lot lately.

Edward smiled, happy that they would stay.

"Well, then. Welcome to the resistance." Edward said. "All of you who wish to stay are going to be called over by my colleagues. You will be asked questions, then you will be assigned to a camp job or field team. After that, you can find a place in the camp to settle down."

Edward looked at Kaida and Donovan. "If you two decide to join us, feel free to just jump into one of the groups....preferably the one with the least amount of people." And with that, Edward went back into the camp, and the remaining four started calling out people. Group A had Inga and Elwood, Group B had Tennor and Ea, Group C had Sephira and James, and Group D...well, the leader waited to see if Donovan and Kaida would join.

When the groups assembled, the leaders asked one question: "So, who wants to go first?"

(You put Kaida in Group B.) :P

Sephira gave James an almost impreceptible nod. "Edward seems to keep him in line, so we shouldn't have much to worry about from him. And if he does decide to attack us..." She trailed off, giving James' arrow a meaningful look. His light arrows combined with her fiery ones would make a deadly combination, and her fire on its own could keep anyone from trying to hurt any of her charges.
However, Edward's decision to split them didn't sit well with her. She knew that the resistance would have to know what their new recruits could do, but she wasn't entirely sure she had said they'd join. Besides, her people were exhausted, having had little to no sleep for the last two days. She, on the other hand, had managed to recuperate some in the netherworld, so she was perfectly capable to stay awake for a while longer. But even Star and Midnight were lagging, both animals barely able to keep their tails up, and she could see Elwood drooping.
She stepped forward. "I insist that my people be allowed to sleep before being questioned. They are tired, and if they don't get rest soon, they will surely collapse from exhaustion. I, on the other hand, will be able to stay awake for a while yet. Question me as much as you need to, about either myself or one of my group. I will answer as best I can, so you can better know what you have at your disposal. And don't argue with me, James," she added in an undertone. "I need you to keep an eye on Elwood and my animal partners. You need your rest too, but I'd feel better if I knew they were safe." She flashed him a smile, hoping that would convince him to do as she asked.

Kaida nodded to Donovan, then turned to Edward. "We'll be heading out then. Good luck with your war." She said it as if he had made a simple gamble on a **** fight, not one with his life. She took Chadur's reins and glanced at Sephira. "Keep Ash. He'll do you some good, and I think you two will work great together. Bye." With that, she turned and led Chadur to the northwest, aiming to get around Clock Town to the north before heading to Great Bay.

(Peeps, if you want to make another thread for us two to RP in. I'll also need to discuss with you the possibility of meeting back up with Sephira and co. but that can wait for now.)

James took a deep breath and accepted Sephira's logic. He turned back to Edward as he welcomed them to the camp. He listened intently, trying to pick out anything that seemed weird in his way of talking. As he told them about the groups, a deep sigh boiled within him. Could they really be up for more work? However, he was glad when Sephira intervened. It was true that she'd never said they'd really join the rebels, and they definitely all needed some rest, so he agreed with her decision of looking over Elwood and the two animal partners. He smiled back and nodded. Feeling that they were finally safe, for now, he turned slowly. A little off in the distance he noticed a boulder. Thinking it a good enough place, he aimed the bow straight at it. He took a deep breath and waited for his pulse to pass so that it wouldn't disrupt the direction the arrow flew in. As soon as it did, he released the light arrow. It flew at the boulder and as soon as it came into contact with it, the rock exploded. When the wheezing noise was over James turned back to Edward, proud of his demonstration. If anything, he hoped it served as a warning. Do anything wrong, and you're gone...just like the boulder.

Donovan scooted back a bit on Chadur to let Kaida get on in front of him and gently held his arms around her to keep stable. He looked over the group they were leaving one last time with a wave goodbye. "Farewell, friends," he said. "Good luck with everything." He had grown to like the group, and hoped to see them again. If the others did end up fighting in the war, he wished that nobody would get killed. He laid his eyes on Inga for a while as Chadur turned away. He hasn't expected to leave her so abruptly and would miss her the most, promising himself to see her again. Sephira would be remembered too, because from what he knew about the whole bird dilemma, he thought that she must have been the one who had saved him from the giants know what.

Inga looked back at Donovan and nodded, mouthing the words "Be safe." She knew she couldn't stay with him too long, although their departure did seem to come a bit early. She would surely see him again.
Once the duo was gone, she set her mind on these groups that had been arranged. The rebels had assumed that she was with Sephira. Well, she was, she just didn't expect to stay with the rebels. At least she was grouped with the person she knew and trusted most, and she decided not to leave them now that she was grouped. She would just have to wait and see what would happen next. As a Sheikah she didn't need much sleep at all, so maybe she would talk to someone then. She was still itching to look at other parts of Termina too, but it would probably have to wait.

Ea sighed. She sort of reinserted herself back into the world at that moment. She had been reminiscing of the days when she lived with her mother. As such, she hadn't been focused at all on current events. She wondered how her mother was doing. She shook her head, focusing on the task at hand. She took stock of the situation. The two 'newcomers' were gone. They were at a camp. Had something happened? She couldn't tell. She walked towards those who she had come here with. "What's going on... what happened?"
So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

(Hate to ruin your fun, J, but Edward went back into camp. Sorry, but James is showing off to a pocket of oxygen.)

The four leaders exchanged looks, then nodded.

"As you wish, Princess Sephira." The leader of Group C said. The other leaders escorted everyone but Sephira into the camp, and then Group C's leader started talking.

"I suppose I should introduce myself. I am John, and I am the representative of East Clock Town. My friends were the representatives of North, West, and South Clock Town. One of our jobs is asking newcomers who join the resistance questions to determine whether they join the army, the raiders, the work force, or....." All the sudden, it seemed like something dawned on John.

"How many years of combat training have you received, Princess Sephira?" John asked. It seemed his mood about this initiation of sorts had drastically changed in a good way.
