  • "Not exactly," James began to explain, "she sent a message with Zarola. You know, the black panther that went with her? She gave the message to Star, who wrote it down for me." Now that he thought about it, that explanation sounded pretty far-fetched to even James, but it was the truth. He just hoped the hard-headed rebel leader would see that.

    • In the conversation, Jackie watched. And waited. And listened. She was learning. She was also looking over everybody. Inga's eyes had shifted color, or maybe it was just her imagination. Yeah, just her imagination. James was still bloodied, but he would heal soon enough, probably. Edward seemed busy, and uninterested by anything other than the Sephira girl, and the message the cats had left.
What caught her eye few times, was James. Trying to be discreet, she leaned towards Inga. "Psst isn't James cute though?"

      • "Pshh," Inga muttered quietly. Jackie was really starting to get on her nerves now, and her voice showed it. "Don't get your hopes up, kid." It was true, Inga had found James quite attractive herself, but if someone was going to make a move on him it wasn't going to be Jackie.

        • "How much older are you than he and I?" Jackylin asked. "Knowing my luck, he'll like shorter girls, and look who's shorter than you." she said with an air of flair, letting herself smile just a little bit. Inga was an interesting person, though with her name she would think of a strong Gerudo woman who waxed others for a living.

          • "Do I sense some sass in your tone?" Inga sneered, smirking at how silly the girl sounded. "You better watch your mouth, it might get you in trouble. Especially when you don't know who you're talking to." Did Jacklyn really think she would get anywhere with James? Inga knew it wouldn't happen.

            • "Mmm, I wouldn't call it sass. More, a knowing sense of you're too old." She looked at Igna out of the corner of her eye, and then glanced back to Edward. "I think the camp leader would be old enough for you, though I'm not too sure. Can't fix age. Or height."

              • "Or maybe it's just your immaturity," Inga snapped back at Jackie. She kept her eyes on the men the whole time, never making eye contact with the girl. "I could sleep with both men if I wanted to. You're just a kid." If they weren't in Edward and James's company, Inga would have slapped Jackie hard by now.

                • Edward raised his eyebrow at James. "Star? Isn't Star the cheetah? Let me see the note." Edward said.

He also noticed Jackylin and Inga talking amongst themselves. Edward guessed that they were speaking about him and James, or some girl thing. He decided to ignore them.

                  • James nodded stiffly and turned to lead Edward to where Star had written the message. He could hear the girls going on and on about something, but it was hard to understand what. As they led Edward, he brushed his dirty blonde hair out of his eyes and wondered when he'd get a chance to go take a bath. The dried blood and dirt on his face was getting quite annoying. They stopped next to the scribbled message. The wind had moved some of the letters, but overall it was fairly readable to a keen eye. "This is it," he said to Edward.

                    • Edward looked at the message and frowned.

"Hmm....not much we can do if he's taken those actions. If I send more, he'll send more. It's pointless. I'll let him win this time. Alright. Well, if you need anything else, I'll be in my tent." Edward turned around and quickly went back to his tent.

Edward had said what he said partly because it was true, and also because he didn't feel like dealing with James and the newcomers with Hyrule. He then remembered he wanted to question Jackylin, but decided to do it later. Ed just wanted to relax in his tent now.

                      • James sighed and rubbed his temples with his fingers. Edward was really becoming a constant headache for him, and at the moment he couldn't deal with his attitude. Instead he turned back to the girls. "Well, so much for that," he began, looking from one to the other. "I guess if there isn't anything else for us to do at the moment, I'll just go find some river where I can get cleaned up. I'll leave you two to, eh, get to know each other I guess," he smiled. "Thank you for your help, again, Jacky. I guess I'll see you around." He nodded at Inga, and turned to go. He held on to the things Star had brought him and carried his pack on his shoulder as he set out to find some river of some sort. Hopefully he wouldn't have to stray too far from the camp, although the idea of exploring this new world seemed tempting.

                        • "See you later, James," Inga said without bothering to acknowledge Jackie. She knew she was slacking off of her assigned job, so she headed back to the cooking tent. When she arrived, she was greeted by the smell of soup the women were preparing for lunch. To her surprise, the two women inside were not too mad that Inga had left for so long.
"Who was that cutie you were walking around with?" one of the women asked out of the blue.
"James?" Inga asked, even though the woman wouldn't know his name. She was wondering why the woman was so interested. "He's just a friend. Got himself in a little fight around breakfast."
"Just a friend?" the woman yakked. "That's all?"
"Yes, that's all," Inga replied. She knew where this was going. "He's like, seventeen for Din's sake."
"I wouldn't be surprised if you told me you were that young. And I doubt he would be able to resist you."
"I'm pretty sure he's got a woman of his own anyways," Inga told the woman. "Don't you have your own business to focus on?" Honestly she wouldn't mind doing something with James, and she probably could, but she didn't need to for now. He was Sephira's after all, then again, Inga didn't really care. Anyways, there was no way of telling how faithful Sephira really was in her travels without him.
Inga began helping out with preparing lunch. Her job wasn't any more exciting than before, but at least she had plenty of time to think. She wondered what she was going to do later on. She knew she wouldn't last staying in that tent for another day. Maybe she would go explore whatever this new land had to offer, perhaps with some company like James. She had beed surprised at Edwards response when they told him about Maxwell's plans. Didn't he care enough about the rebellion to figure out some way to keep his traveling men safe?

                          • Star followed James as he left her message and went to find a river. Zarola had disappeared again, much to the cheetah's relief. Hopefully she returned to Sephira, but as long as she didn't continue to spread her disdain nearby, Star would be happy.
Midnight noticed the pair and trotted over to join them, very clearly a happy wolf. He and Elwood were soaked from playing in the water, having spent the better part of the morning chasing and splashing each other in the cool liquid. Star gave him an amused look, which turned into a hiss as he shook himself, sending droplets everyone. He grinned at her, then butted James with his head in greeting.

                            • James grinned as Midnight shook water from his fur and Star reacted to it. "Hey, guys, having fun?" he said, trying hard to hide his injuries from Elwood. The kid, however, could clearly see the very obvious black eye and dry blood.
                              "Woah, what happened to you?"
"Oh, this is nothing just a little, ehm, trouble back at camp. Nothing to worry about really." The kid didn't seem to sure but simply shrugged.
                              "Well, what now then?"
"Actually, I was about to clean up for a bit in the river and, not that I have anything against you guys, but I'd rather be alone," he shrugged, smiling. Elwood nodded slowly, then imitated his smile.
"That's fine, though! I wanted to get back to playing with Mid, but he wanted to check on you first. And now Star can come play with us as well! It'll be amazing."
"Alright, but stay in or close to the camp, I don't want you getting lost."
"Don't worry bout it," Elwood finished, pulling the two animal partners along as he hurried off. James laughed at the boy's enthusiasm and turned to the river, which had been a bit more separate from the camp but not too much. He could still see the makeshift tents in the distance. The ground under his feet had turned more grassy as he walked, and there were even a few bushes and trees here and there.

Jacky, glad that Inga had gone off on her own, had decided to keep an eye on James. She had stayed far enough that she remained unnoticed, and been glad when the animals left since she had worried they might give away her position. It wasn't that she was spying on James, not at all, but she didn't want to stay alone back in the Rebel Camp.

James, glad to finally get some rest, removed the Light Bow and Arrows, as well as the Mirror shield, from his back and placed them neatly against a rock by the river. He also removed his pack and placed it next to the herbs and bandages Star had brought him, which he would use after he was clean. His knives in their scabbards, as well as the one that was hidden on his leg he placed near the water, in case he had to reach for them in an emergency. As he undressed he was careful not to touch or hit his hand, which made matters more complicated. It took him a few minutes to get his shirt off, but then it went faster. His bare chest, strengthened from many battles and travel, now had some more bruises and cuts added to it from the fight, and he flinched a bit when he touched them. His muscles were also beginning to ache, sore from the battle. He sighed as he finished undressing and entered the coolness of the water. It was a bit too cold for his taste, but after a minute or so his skin got accustomed to it and his muscles relaxed. He fully submerged once to get his dirty-blonde hair soaked, which glistened in the Sun from the drops of water as he emerged. He sat down, resting his head on the edge of the river, completely at peace with his thoughts and the quietness of nature as he relaxed and did nothing but rest there for a few minutes, completely unaware of anyone being nearby. With a lack of fish in the water, or birds in the nearby surroundings, he was "alone".

                              • Jackylin sat in the grass and the dust, sitting by a rock a bit far from the river. She could still see James, and she could easily duck behind the rock if she needed to. Which, she did, sooner rather than later. She watched him set his equipment by a rock not unlike hers, and when James lost his shirt and started to unbutton his pants, she hid. She may have talked big to Inga, but she was far too modest for that. She heard the splash of water, and she dared to peek over the rock. James was in the water, and his hair had been darkened by the water, but glistened in the sunlight. She blushed a little, knowing she shouldn't be looking, but he was just so fine.
