“Jacob!” Odin called out with a smile on his face. “Did you have a nice nap?” He attempted to wave to him but found his arms restricted by Lilly’s grip around him. He pouted and rested his head on her shoulder instead. Lilly glared at the newcomer but forced the expression to a happier one. She had to think of a way to get rid of them without drawing suspicion to herself, and fast. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, dear,” she said to Jacob with an innocent smile on her face. “You must be confused. I’ve always wanted him back. Wouldn’t any good mother?” She turned to Widow. Now to deal with her. “And my goodness, why do you call me selfish? Odin is my son, after all, and is therefore rightfully mine. Wouldn’t you be the selfish one for not allowing this heartbroken mother to have her child back? But fine, since you’re so eager to stay, then stay. I’m sure you’ll see in time how wrong your baseless assumptions are.” Odin gasped and clapped his hands (again, finding it hard to do).
“You’re gonna let them stay with us? Yay! I’ll show you the garden and my room and my toys and you guys can sleep with me!”
“Our guests can stay in the guest rooms,” Lilly said, a warning note in her tone. Odin’s head drooped a little, but he knew better than to push the matter when she used that tone with him. Lilly snapped her fingers and her guards were immediately brought to attention. “Show them to their rooms.” The three Dekus nodded and quickly got into position, approaching their unexpected guests.
“She’s way too soft on you guys,” Siegward grumbled, shaking his head. “Follow us to your rooms, then.”

Jacob (barely) lifted Siegward and put his head in the water for a few seconds before pulling him out. "I'm way too soft on you. You won't be so lucky next time." Jacob whispered, kicking Siegward once before turning around. "Sorry miss, I was just showing your guard to respect guests." Jacob said fake smiling.

widow chuckled at Jacobs actions "good job Jacob" she said "shows those rude little deku some manors" her grin softened as she turned to face lilly, if she wanted to play the innocent act widow would to "those horrible deku attacked me, I thought they were robbers or trying to kidnap Odin, I had no choice but to fight back" widow made a few tears fall down her face "I had to defend myself and my family, thinking they were going to hurt my poor sons" she gestured to Jacob and Odin "ask Jacob, he was there, near the end of the battle he came outside, I had no choice but to tell him to run inside" she turned, acting as if it was too hard to talk about, and winked at Jacob, trying to tell him to play along.

Jacob nodded, his fake smile going to a fake sad face. "Yeah..." Jacob said, pretending it was a sad memory. "I wanted to help because I thought it was up to me to protect the family since Dad was at Clock Town, but I knew Widow had her reasons for sending me inside." Jacob was susprised at himself when he referred to Alec as Dad, but he'd have to deal with it later, seeing as he couldn't afford to react now while he still had Lily convinced this actually happened.

“My Lady, you don’t honestly believe these two liars, do you?” Siegward sputtered, exasperated. He was dripping wet from Jacob’s little stunt and was doing all he could to not smack him across the face and show him a thing or two about respect. Honestly, kids these days had absolutely zero respect for their elders. “We may have attacked, yes, but we were only following your o—“ He caught himself just in time as he realized that what he was going to say would’ve put his mistress in a bad light. “We just got a little carried away is all,” he mumbled. He winced under Lilly’s glare, shrinking back among his comrades a little.
“Now why would you go and attack them like that?” she said. “Is that any way to treat the people who’s been kindly taking care of our little Odin?”
“My apologies…” Siegward turned to their new guests and bowed slightly. “Please, follow me. During your stay, we shall take care of any accommodations you should need.” Lilly nodded once at him and left inside the palace with Odin while Siegward waited for Jacob and Widow to follow him inside.

"Jacob one, tree zero." Jacob muttered as he walked up to Siegward. In reality, it was the other way around. Jacob knew Maxwell planned to invade Clocktown the next day, and Jacob wanted to fight against him. However, Jacob had to get Odin out of here first.
This is going to be fun....

"proof" widow mumbled under her breath to Jacob as they followed Lilly and Odin "the idiotic deku was about to say they were just going to follow her orders, we have to get Odin out of here" she looked at Jacob clearly worried "how come when one person I care about gets in trouble, another one follows soon after" she shook her head, and looked down on the ground trying to work out how she was going to get Odin out of here.

Jacob looked at Widow. He had already known what Siegward was going to say. "Mom....or Widow, whichever you prefer, there's something I need to tell you." Jacob said at a volume nobody but Widow could hear.

"When I ran away, I didn't go to Ikana. I went here. I entered the Deku Palace and asked Odin's mom and dad to take him back so he could be happy. They said no. When I aksed why, they said he was a troublemaker, a disgrace, and that they hated children." Jacob grabbed Widow's hand. "Mom, she doesn't want Odin for the reason she claims. She wants him back for another reason."

"I trust me gut, my intuition, Jacob" widow said honestly "I knew from the moment they showed up" she gestured to whever the three deku were "that they didnt want to take odin back for the reason they claimed" her expersion softend as she turned to face Jacob "call me whatever you want, but i would prefer mum, if thats how you really see me, and thank you, for telling me the truth" she wanted to hug jacob there and then but she sensed it wasnt the time, they had work to do.

Jacob almost hugged Widow too, but he also knew now wasn't the time. They had work to do, and on Jacob's schedule, not much time to do it. "Hey, twig!" Jacob shouted to Siegward, who was actually a bit behind Jacob and Widow now. "Hurry it up before we run off into some trouble!"

"So, you were looking for a friend," Donovan asked Kaida. His walk had hurried up to a jog. He was sure he knew where this was going. "Do you have any idea where he might have gone in here?"

Kaida lengthened her stride to match pace with the man. "No clue. He had just escaped from someone, but beyond that, I don't know." Zarola cast about, searching for scents, remembering this place. She had grown up here, although Kaida didn't know that.

Alec walked behind the two, trying hard not to pay them attention. Instead he was trying to remember everything he had learned living in the wild. Ground fresh stomped not quick healing. He searched the ground for any signs of Jacob recently passing through it. There was nothing. He knew his small light feet wouldn't leave marks but he had hoped for at least a broken branch or a squashed bug that told them he had passed through here. There was nothing. He tried another thing. When a breeze runs free, a smell is captured. He smelled the air and immediately knew that wasn't going to help. It stung of waste and death and rotting wood, like a swamp. The only thing left was trusting the animals. When skin and blood cross their home, an animal will know their bone. He looked around. He couldn't see any living creature apart from them, but he did hear something. Bugs. They sounded far away, but he could hear their distinct noises they always made. Better yet, the sound was coming from directly in front of them. Knowing they were on their way, he continued walking.

(I havent been in this area in MM for a while so bear with me)

While they ran Donovan took a left and they had reached the gently tilting dock above the great pool of water Donovan always hung out at. Many days a week he would just sit around here and listen to the calm croak of the frogs, the birds peeping in the distance. Alone, like always.
"Who's up for some swimming?" Donovan snapped out of his thinking but looked up at the Tourist Center, resisting the urge to go up there and hop off the deck, plummeting into the swampy water below like he does so often. But he could tell that this bunch was in a hurry. Instead, he dove into the water to the left of the dock and swam across, along the green lily pads until he reached the squishy ground on the other side. He looked behind him, watching the rest of the group.
"I think we might find your friend somewhere if we stick on this path for a while." Donovan said. "People get lost in here, a lot."

Kaida looked at the murky water. "Ugh, this is going to be a pain to get out of my breastplate," she grumbled. Zarola, however, didn't share her squirmish. The panther leaped into the water and paddled down it, following after Donovan. Kaida muttered under her breathe as she followed, trying as hard as she could to keep her chest over the water. "You'd think a cat wouldn't want to go swimming, wouldn't you. You'd think being a bounty hunter, I wouldn't care. This is totally backwards of what it should be."
