Siegward led Jacob and Widow into the first floor bedrooms hallway, partly so that he would better be able to keep an eye on them, partly because he didn’t feel like going up the stairs, mostly because he was eager to get rid of them as quickly as possible. The boy, especially, was easily getting on his nerves with his display of immaturity. He stopped in front of two rooms and unlocked them with a key. “You will stay in here until the mistress says otherwise. It matters not which of these rooms you pick. I’ll leave that up to the two of you to decide.” Both of the rooms were set up in a similar way; one queen-sized bed with a net covering hanging over it, one desk with a chair, and a red carpeted floor. None of the rooms had windows.
The Deku stepped aside and crossed his arms, waiting for them to hurry on inside already.
    ~
“But how come I can’t play with Jacob and Widow now?” Odin whined, slouching forward as he stood in front of his mom and dad and some other random stranger Deku he’d never seen before.
“Because I said so!” Lilly shouted. She and Kota had taken to discussing matters dealing with Odin in the inner ward, the only open courtyard area in the middle of the castle. However, being outside in the more natural habitat did nothing to soothe her mood. She gave her husband an exasperated look. “I am not putting up with this forever, you know.”
“I’ve already sent word to a jurist that Alder's great grandson has arrived in the palace. He should be here very soon.”
“He’d better! I do not want those other two meddling busybodies ruining my plans! Not when I’ve worked far too hard for this!”
“Speaking of our new guests, what should we do with them?”
“Hmph. For now, let them be. They are insignificant to me. But once they start getting in my way…” She gave him a stern look. “Well, you know what to do with them.”
    “Of course.”
“Mommy, look! I found a bug!” Odin proudly lifted up his hand to show off the rather large green grasshopper that he’d manage to catch while wandering a ways off. Lilly took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and counted to ten.

widow grinned turning to whisper to Jacob "when i give you the signal, we tackle the deku, then we start a riot and find Odin, got it" she hoped he would understand. widow didn't like being away from Odin, especially when she felt like it was dangerous for him to be alone here.

Alec followed after Kaida through the water trying to hold back a laugh at the girl. The only thing he was worried about was the water getting into his shoes, after all they'd be a pain to run in later if it did. He wondered if he should get new ones. He shook off the thought; now was not the time. He tried to see how much further ahead there was land again. He couldn't exactly tell but he saw something far in the distance. Kind of like a palace but at the same time not. He remembered it, having passed through it once in one of his "missions". Remembering made him grunt, after all he remembered that the Dekus didn't take very kindly to humans. "Jacob please tell me you didn't go in there..." he muttered under his breath. Thinking of Dekus made him think of Odin, and of how incredible it was that such horrible creatures had sired such an amazing little boy.

Donovan watched the group as the others joined him on shore. "I gotta go speak with someone, I'll be right back." Donovan ran ahead through the narrower passage and jumped, landing onto the wooden platform in the middle of a second pond of murky water. Just in front of him loomed the grand wooden tower--Kuome and Kotakes potin shop! Donovan had always admired how the structure somehow fitted in with it's surroundings and looked pretty good. It seemed like he had been here a second ago, which was almost true. He had been with the witches stocking up on some potions for the week before he bumped into that Kaida girl. Donovan snapped back to reality and zipped up the ladder, reaching the door to the witches little nook, peeking his head inside.
"Anybody home?" He asked, soon hopping into the small room.
"Don!" Kotake greeted him from behind the counter. She was an old friend of Donovan's, he often stopped in here to chat and grab some potions. "Why are you back so soon?"
"I just gotta grab a few potions for some... tourists." Donovan hurried over to the counter. "No time to talk." And Kotake loved to talk. Besides Kuome (who seemed to always be arguing), Donovan was just about all Kotake had.
"Wow, people are actually taking a tour of the swamp? Never thought I would live to see it happen." Kotake chuckled.
"Hey, did you ever see a little boy coming through here?" Donovan asked, dropping some rupees for 4 red potions on the table.
"Huh. Funny you ask. Kuome actually did see a few people passing by on her way out." Kotake told Donovan. It must have been a big deal, as they rarely get visitors. "She's out making a delivery again. Hope she doesn't die." She finished filling some bottles and handed them over to Donovan.
          "Alright, thanks. Gotta go."
          "Be careful out there!"
Donovan waved as he walked out the door, sliding down the ladder and landing with a thud on the wooden platform below. He walked over to meet the others, picking splinters out of his hands. They were an everyday occurrence nowadays. "I got some potions if ya need any." He said, holding out the bottles of red liquid. "This swamp is pretty... unpredictable."

(lol I think J got a little bit ahead. The palace shouldn't be visible from the Potion Shop)

Kaida raised an eyebrow at the bottles of red liquid, but took one. She had never been one to pass up a free gift, and she was rarely in the area to buy such a prize. Red Potions were almost a necessary requirement for a mercenary. She glanced down the path. "Where do you think he went? This sort of terrain doesn't strike me as the kind to hold tracks, especially with that." She gestured at the murky water. She was tempted to use Zarola, but she had no clue what sort of training the panther had, nor would she have been able to set it on the trail anyways. She blew up at a loose strand of hair. Her braid must have loosened. She would need to stop eventually and retie it.

(He totally didn't, Alec just has amazing eyesight that can see into the future)

Alec mimicked Kaida's actions and inspected the red liquid. It smelled strongly of mushrooms, which reminded him of living in the wild. He smiled his thanks at Donovan and put the bottle away. Alec frowned at Kaida's question, "Well...I think our best bet would be to go over to the Deku Palace and ask the guards if they've seen anything. They don't take too kindly to strangers but it's our best bet." He looked at the sky to find the Sun. It was starting to reach the edge and descend, which gave them at most a couple of hours to find Jacob before sundown. He didn't want to imagine what would if Jacob was lost by himself in the darkness of the swamp. He turned to Donovan. "Did the shopkeeper mention anything about a boy when you went in for the potions?"

"Oh!" Donovan remembered what Kotake had told him. "Apparently my friend spotted some travelers passing by earlier today. Headed towards the Deku Palace. We better head on over there." Donovan turned and ran, hopping onto the potion shop platform. "Shouldn't be too much swimming this time around." He chuckled. He ran and jumped off the opposite end, and only his feet touched the water. A few years ago he had to shed off his old boots and toss them in the woods because of stuff like this.
"Next stop, the Woods of Mystery," Donovan mocked the Southern Swamp's fantasies of a tour as he approached the dense, wet forest. "We gotta be careful in here."

Kaida sighed with relief that they'd only be wading. She could deal with wet boots, and wet feet. She just hated getting water caught in her breastplate. The thing was padded, which was why she didn't mind wearing it all the time, but it was next to impossible to dry the padding if she got it drenched. She splashed forward to catch up with Donovan. "Why are the woods call mystery?" she asked curiously. Zarola waded next to her. The panther seemed more alive here than she had else where, Kaida noticed. She made a note to try finding an animal translator, if one existed, so she could learn about Zarola's past.

Alec sighed with relief, at least they had some clue as to where Jacob had gone. He walked behind them, trying to splash as little as possible. It really seemed like meeting Donovan had been a strike of luck. He'd make sure to get in better terms with him later, but for now his only goal and purpose was to find Jacob. He listened to the other two's conversation as he walked.

Jacob nodded at Widow to signal he understood. He wanted to be with Odin as much as Widow did. "When?" Jacob whispered. "I think the day is almost over, and we really need to be out of here by tommorow."

"now!" widow said, turning around to tackle the tiny deku "Jacob, were getting out of here tonight, and Odin will be with us" she looked determined and she held the deku against the ground "where is Odin"

"I'm not sure exactly why," Donovan told Kaida, studying her face. "But it surely suits the place well." He said, stopping at the entrance to the moist forest. "We can't get lost in here if your friend really did end up in the Deku Palace. We're going to want to get there as soon as possible. Without being seen." Donovan actually had some positive relationships with a few of those dekus, but besides that, dekus were enemies. He wished he could form an alliance with them, but they will never accept Hylians. Probably because the Hylians cause so much harm to the wilderness. But Donovan wasn't one of those people. He walked into the forest and sighed. He didn't come in here as often as he did at a younger age, and was worried about getting lost. He had no use in these woods anymore--no use with the Deku Palace. "I think I still remember how to get through here, we just gotta be careful with the Snappers. And if you see one, don't run." Looking at the others, he could tell they could win any fight against a silly Snapper. "Just keep your guard up. They always seem to pop up from behind and slash you with their shell spikes. Stupid Snappers." He walked forward through the trees. He remembered a large, falled, rotten log, always covered with flies that told him to turn to the left. Before long, he had reached it, and, looking behind to make sure the other still followed, he moved toward the large boulder he had remembered from his younger days. The boulder reminded him to turn diagonally forwards to the right, and that would soon lead them to as opening.

“How should I know!” the Deku shouted, obviously angered at this turn of events. “I don’t follow her around all the time and it’s not as if she announces wherever she’s going!” He tilted his head back from his position laying on the ground and let out a long, piercing whistle. The sound of trampling footsteps filled the hallway from both sides. The Deku smiled smugly back at Widow. “Let’s see if you and your little friend can take care of some of the most well-trained Deku guards in the palace.”

Without thinking, Jacob ran towards the sounds. When he met the guards, he didn't pull out his sword. He jumped on them. So one by one, Jacob jumped on the guards like Mario jumping on Goombas. When he finally landed on something that wasn't a head, he realized two things. One, he just made the guards mad, and two, he had left Widow behind. If the guards were really mad, they would probably come after him, so Jacob would just have to hope all of them would come after him. Before he could do anything else, all the guards came down and tried to stab them with their weapons, but before the first thrust was made, Jacob was already running to where he hoped Odin would be.

"Don't just stand there!" one of the guards shouted out, angrily jabbing his spear into the ground as he spoke. "Get the boy! Make sure he does not escape! And bind him and lock him in the dungeons! I don't care what the Lady has to say about it, no one attacks me and gets away with it!" The guards started to run around in a flurry, unsure of which way to go.
"The girl, sir!" one of them called out. "What about the girl?"
"Throw the girl in with him too!"

The familiar sound of whirring from overhead came as an instant relief to Lilly and Kota who glanced up to see a Deku flying by. Lilly waited with crossed arms, tapping her foot against the soft grass as she waited for the newcomer to land. When he finally stood before their presence, he gave a slight bow.
"Greetings. I am the one you called for?" Lilly, however, had no time for such pleasantries.
"You're the one that takes care of all the legalities, right? Well here he is, the little shrimp," she nudged Odin forward who stared with mild curiosity at the bigger Deku.
"Of course," the Deku said, holding out a piece of paper. "And so, if you'll just sign here..."
