Kaida nodded. "I have to. Either I'm in the middle of the field hunting someone, or I'm at my home and feeling lonely. The easiest way to deal with loneliness is to light a fire and then just sit there watching the flames." She shifted her gaze to the dancing flames now and smiled. Fire was something she had always admired. It was always free, and it had to be treated carefully and with respect. Otherwise it would go rampid. Fire was like a cat, tamed but not owned. It was dependant on its producer for food, like any child its mother, but it was so independant. Kaida smiled, and though once again of the reason she had taken Kaida, Little Dragon, when she had escaped the pirates. "Because a dragon is free and depends on nothing," she whispered to the flickering fire.

"Yeah?" Donovan gazed into the dancing flames. Some of the best dancers out there... dancers. Donovan hadn't seen dancing for a while. He hadn't been back to Clocktown for ages, and that's where all the entertainment took place. "I gotta do it a few times a week. Catch a nice bird, roast it, and it usually lasts me a couple days. Thats all I eat..." He tried to remember the last time he ate something different. Probably sometime back when he was in Clocktown right after the Sheikah left him. He only lived in Clocktown for a few years, then he realized how different he was, and went on his own. All fire-cooked birds after that. "Yeah, I just hang out here. In the swamp, in the field. I go to the beach from time to time, but the Swamp is definitely my favorite spot. All my... friends live here." When he thought of friends, he usually thought of back when he lived in Clocktown, and the boys and girls who played with him back there. Some became traveling merchants and travelled the whole continent. Some got killed in the army. There were some still living in the town, but Donovan doubted they would remember him. He was proud of them, growing through successful lives, making actual change. Donovan was just the Lone Wolf in the swamp, wasting all his time. His friends had changed here. Now they were two witches. And animals. A few adventurers here and there, also roaming Termina. Donovan never realized how much he loved Kaida's company, and how thankful he was for it. She seemed kind of like him. Maybe not as much of a loner, but certainly in search of adventure. "So, hunting people. You got a job?" He asked her.

Whatever fear they’d previously had for the Terminian diminished when they saw him limping towards them, and although his courage was admired, they had a job to do. Since he was getting nearer, they abandoned their bows and picked up their spears. They began to form a circle around him, keeping their sharp weapons pointed at him.

Odin buried his face in Widow’s chest and bursted into a flood of tears. It was all just so much for him. He struggled to speak but his words came out as broken, jumbled sobs. Frustrated at his inability to speak, he buried himself closer to Widow and cried even harder, wanting to block out everything.

Odin's chest heaved and shuddered as he made an effort to stop his tears. He felt like he couldn't breathe. Like there wasn't enough air in the room. He shook his head back and forth, tears still streaming from his eyes. He started to become light-headed and he slumped to his hands and knees on the floor, shaking. He felt weak.
            He just couldn't.
He couldn't tell her how he'd just witnessed his own mother stab his best friend.

as if she could see the greif and pain in his eyes, her expression softened "it must be hard" she said "odin, i want you to do something for me, but you have to promise me you will do it before I tell you what it is i want you to do, promise me Odin, please" her anger boilded under the surface, she knew who would have made him cry like that, and she was going to make them pay for hurting her little deku.

Alec bowed his head when they surrounded him so that his hair hid his face. He was silent for a moment but suddenly he began laughing. He slowly raised his head and he was grinning. "You know, Deku are so...gullible," he said. Then he raised a stick he had picked up outside before limping in. The top of the stick seemed to be wet, but they didn't know it was oil lantern. Swiftly he sheathed his knife and using his free hand whipped a match from his pocket. He scratched it against the lower part of the stick, lighting the match. "Let's have some fun, shall we?" With that he touched the flame to the oil and the stick caught flames. Alec's hand was safely protected under a wet cloth as he held up the burning torch of sorts. His eyes glinted with pride.

The man on the rock sighed, straightening his suit as he stood up. He walked further into the Deku Palace, watching the Dekus surrounding the boy with the fire.
He called at the Dekus. "It would seem he has you at a disadvantage."

Kaida made a face. "While we're travelling together, you are not going to be the one cooking. I might not be much of a chef, but a roast bird every few nights? Blech. I'd get bored after three times." She could very easily find herbs she could use to cook with, and she could probably find other food to help aguement the meal. She glanced at Donovan. "Right now, I'm not hired. I'm a mercenary, and take whatever jobs I can, when the boss is respectful. I absolutely will not hire myself out to a person who sees my breasts and curves, instead of my sword and armor." She gave an irritated motion, indicating how often that had happened. It was more than a little annoying when people were ***ist morons.

                    • Odin could barely hear Widow speaking over his own loud swirl of thoughts and the terrible images repeating over and over in his head. He continued to shake his head while gripping his sides, hugging himself. He heard something about a promise and managed to raise his dimly lit eyes to hers. But he said nothing.

They raised an eyebrow when they saw him brandish a puny stick. What was he planning on doing, beating them to death? With a stick?
Then he lit it, and all **** broke lose.
If there was one thing Dekus hated the most (and with good reason), it was fire. All of them pushed and shoved each other out of the way as they scrambled to get as far away from the boy as they possibly could. None of them wanted to stick around any longer, orders or not.

                      • "odin, your a strong deku" she said, placing both hands on his shoulders "this is why i want you to do this, you have to leave, I want you to go and meet me at the entrace of the swamp, ill be there as soon as possible, i promise. there is something i need to take care of here and I cant do it while your with me, i would be too scared of hurting you" widow wasnt sure if he knew what she was planing, if he could see the dark glint of anger in her eyes. all she knew was that she had to get odin out of here, and quickly.

                        • Upon hearing her tell him to leave, he felt all those years of being rejected by his parents slap him right in the face. The promises they had made to him, only to break them. That coupled with his already growing panic brought him into hysterics. He threw himself at Widow's leg and latched on tightly. "N-n-n-n-" He tried to shout but felt an invisible force clamping down on his throat and snatching his words right up. All he could manage were the tears.

                          • Alec smiled, his plan had worked. He turned an eye to see who had talked, but when he saw it was an old man he decided it wasn't worth it. He began advancing through the palace, brandishing the lit stick at any Dekus who got close. He was no longer in a mood to waste his time with them. He had to find Widow, get her out, and never return to the Palace again. "Widow?" he began calling out. When his voice attracted other guards, he just brandished the stick to them as well. "Widow!" Where was that pirate?

                            • "alec?" widow said, hearing a familer voice "ALEC, IM OVER HERE, HELP A DEKU HAS GOT ME CAPTURED SO I CANT MOVE!!" she screamed out, trying not to laugh. she felt like freaking him out, and knowing she was in trouble would do that. she bent down to stroke odin's head "odin, alec is coming, would you go with him, I promise ill be back, if i don't come back you have my permission to hit me over my head" she chuckled, as she stroked her little deku's head.

                              • The man watched and followed Alec, keeping out of the action as he could. Hearing all this 'help me' this and 'where are you' that, he could only think he was watching some kind of drama, only he didn't know what was going on anywhere else.

He chuckled at the sight of Dekus tripping over each other at the sight of fire. "Life..."
