  • Three Year Anniversary

Alright guys, I know J is cookin' up something rad, and this year I wanted to do something too. I know this isn't the exact date, but here you go, before I forget. I left it unlisted like J's, so you'll need the link to see it. I guess this is also like a starter post and a thread for all the Third Anniversary things too!
I made a video with my phone, threw it into Movie Maker, and flipped it vertically. I wanna give a shout out in advance to J, because I never knew just how difficult doing this whole deal is. I mean everything I say in the video, and I really should stop rambling on here.
    Thanks guys.

And it's not working very well so here's the direct link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCpVC...ature=youtu.be

Three Year Anniversary: Z's Thank You

So, originally, I was going to make a video, but there was a lot of problems with the Game Capture software, so I didn't. But I still want to do the same thing that Ammy did in the video, so I'll just type it out here.

    On the itinerary today...
    1. My experience on Age of War throughout the years, from beginning to end.
    2. Thank yous/Shoutouts
    3. The Future

    1. My Experience
It all started for me with a little roleplay group called Age of War on Zelda Dungeon. It wasn't really interesting, and I think I made one post. However, after a while, Ryli invited to the Age of War site on Proboards. I'll say this in the Shoutouts, but that was the first step to getting me here today. On Proboards, I met Elliot, and kind of just hung out with him. I made Jacob, who is apparently still 9, but I think he is 10 by now.

So after a while, I chose Zelda Dungeon over Age of War, and I left for a while. But then I got bored of Zelda Dungeon, so I came back to Age of War....only to find it deserted. The only clue to where you guys had gone was a thread made by Kairu, saying that he had taken responsibility for Age of War and moved it to Zetaboards.

When I signed onto Zetaboards Age of War for the first time, everyone freaked out, especially Elliot. Nobody had seen me in ages, and I was back. That's when I became friends with basically everybody who I had missed back on Proboards because I left before they came.

You guys know what happened next. I killed off like three or four characters from when I hopped on Zetaboards to right before I made Maxwell. I have to say, Maxwell is my favorite character, and his story arch is really awesome, and the ending is going to be so much fun. And yes, Jacob, Zebulon, and Edward are going to be involved. And if Drake is captured by Maxwell's forces while passing through Termina, he'll have a part too. But he has his good friends Kairu, Malina, Ryli, and that one character whose name I forgot with him, so we'll see.

    2. Shoutouts

Let's start with Elliot. I know he's gone, but he was still a very good friend of mine. I don't know why he left, but he was amazing when he was here. I don't know how I would react if he came back, and I'm not sure if I want him to come back...moving on!

HBC. I still remember those nights where it would just be us two hanging out. You would talk about your stories, and I would talk about Sonic and Assassin's Creed. Good times. The story archs that we make for our characters are so much fun, especially the Maxwell and Sephira one.

I can't do shoutouts without honoring the man who brought us to where we are today. Kairu. The Almighty Admin. You're the best admin out of the four forums I have been a part of. I personally wouldn't have gotten back into Age of War if it weren't for you, making the new site and adding Termina. I remember I used to think that you adding Termina was the best thing ever (it still is). I appreciate all the work you've put into this site, and how you continue to work to keep the site running and great. You're the best.

Ryli, the girl who brought me here. Because of your actions three years ago, I've met all these awesome, rad, amazing people, including you, of course. You don't get on much, but if you read this, just know you have my undying gratitude.

Next, J! J, the cornerstone of our anniversaries. Without you, nobody would know what to do for the anniversaries. But you're definitely not just that. You're an amazing friend, and you're brilliant. Something tells me you'll change the world someday.

Now, Ammy, who inspired me to do this in the first place. I can't even think of how to describe you, and that is awesome, which means you're awesome (but that doesn't mean the other people on this list aren't awesome). Like you said in your video, those nights of Truth or Dare with Jay and (if I remember correctly) Elliot were amazing, back on the old days of Xat. And when I was into Slenderman and those weird videos, you were there to talk about them with me and Elliot. Thank you.

Blender! I remember I used when we used to not get along. For me, it was mostly because you weren't getting along with the others. But we're past that, and you've become a great friend of mine. You have (indirectly) taught me more about things like Skyrim, Infamous, and I think a little bit of Doctor Who, and I thank you for that as well.

Peeps. We've been good friends since you got here, I believe. From what I remember from when we used to talk, you were awesome. Now, we don't talk anymore, so I don't really know what to say. In fact, I almost forgot to put you here. And even though you don't get on as much, thanks for holding on. I appreciate it, even if we're not RPing in the same thread.

Midna, the only Aussie. I understand it's a struggle with timezones, but I wish you would talk to us more. It was great back in the day having you around, so please, do come back.

The "puny" DekuNut. I think that was your thing, right? Anyway, I don't remember much of what we talked about, but I remember you being a good friend. If you read this, then know that whenever you are bored, get on Age of War. One of us might be waiting.

Now, the rest of you. I either don't know you very well or you've been good for so long that I have no idea what to say, like Falcon, KillerRabbit, and GoronLink. Just know that if you were once part of the community, I will try to remember you. And the day I forget about you is the day I want you to come back and remind me. Get it? Got it? Good.

    3. The Future
I predict the weather forecast of this next year is awesome, with a chance of stress. Key word: chance. Hopefully I'll get to posting those stories I promised for the anniversary, even if they aren't on time. Also, I have some sweet stuff planned for you guys, like the rest of the Clock Town Invasion story arch, and other things that I haven't even come up with. There's two hopes I have for this year. One: No one leaves or disappears. It's always really sad when someone announces they're leaving or when they vanish, and since we have a close knit group here, it would really, really, really suck if someone left. Two: I hope the summer is super active. I don't think we've ever had a summer as great as the first really awesome one. Now, I know we all wished for this last year, and we almost got there, but not quite. It might be wishful thinking, but I hope we get to that level this year.

And the summer shouldn't be the only great part. Let's try to have the best. Year. Ever. I don't know how we're going to do it, but we'll do it.

Happy Early Birthday, Age of War.

Okay, so I wanna make one too now. And Ammy, I don’t care about the stains, that cloth is great.

I’ll quickly go through how I got here and try to keep it short. Similar to some of you guys, it all started for me on Zeldadungeon. I actually made my Zeldadungeon account to ask about my Spirit Tracks game glitching, but I ended up being a part of many roleplaying groups with lots of people that really have nothing to do with Age of War. One person from these groups who you guys do know is Goron Link. He told me about the site back when it was new, but I didn’t join right away. I think I actually got a second Zeldadungeon message inviting me to the site from HBC, or elvenknight as I knew her back then. I’m not sure why it took me so long to finally join, but I think it was at least a year after I had first heard about Age of War. Well I’m glad I joined! I don’t even go on Zeldadungeon anymore. I remember what it was like when I first logged on. Plenty of you were on, chatting away in the shoutbox, and you let me come right into your chat. I just think it’s cool that me asking a question about Spirit Tracks on ZD years ago turned into me being a part of Age of War’s awesome community.

I better get on to my own shout-outs. This is mainly what I wanted to do. I’ll attempt to do it in order of the people I met.

Goron Link - You were a cool guy and fun to RP with back in Zeldadungeon. It might be strange that you’re getting your own shout-out because we haven’t seen you for a long time. I actually joined Age of War after you had left, but if it wasn’t for you, I probably wouldn’t be here, so thanks. I really hope I get to meet you again one day.

HBC - I think I know you the best out of all the people on this site. We always have these mind-reading moments when we’re planning out in-character events. I think you were the first person to welcome me the day I joined Age of War. Since then, we have roleplayed together a ton. You’re the person I roleplay with most frequently and I think most of our characters have met. You’re also a fun person to chat with, and we have talked about many things from spiders to the RP to music, etc.

Mids - You were another one of the people who I first talked to when I joined the site. Then, I made my first character, Zulo, and the first character he met was your Jenna. That was my first adventure here. Thanks!

Kairu - I don’t know much about what Age of War was like before I was here, but I know you made it all possible. You’re very important to all of us. You have done great things in and out of the RP. I actually haven’t roleplayed with you that much but we have still talked a lot and I know you’re a cool dude. I haven’t really used much forums but you’re the awesomest admin ever. You have also made some great stickies.

From here, I can’t really remember the order I met people. I just met them at some point and they were also awesome.

Ammy - I have talked to you in the shoutbox quite a bit and you’ve been really energetic and entertaining. It is really fun chatting with you and you’re a funny person. It was pretty funny listening to you playing pokemon in the background of Kairu’s stream the other day. I gotta get in a skype call with you guys sometime.

Shadow Wing - I think I could call you my bro on this site. I mean, we have two sets of sibling characters. When we’re both online, we usually have a good chat. It’s fun roleplaying with you, and I just want our Draco thread to go a bit faster. I am looking forward to future RPing with you.

Z - We have been good friends, and yeah, we should talk more. I just have to play more games like Skyrim so I’m not as oblivious when you’re talking about video games, haha. Aside from that, you have done some cool stuff in the RP. I really like this thing going on in Termina and I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I have to start using Ralatar again so we can do the thing with him and Edward, if you can remember what I’m talking about.

Blendercat - You also. You talk about video games a lot and I have no idea what you’re talking about. That’s not a bad thing though. I don’t see you around nearly as much anymore, but when you did come on the shoutbox a lot, it was fun talking with you. From what I remember, you were another one of those members who made me laugh. I hope you stick around and become more active soon.

J - Another very important member of the community. You tend to say clever things in the shoutbox that make me laugh. You also just seem like a smart person. You’re a nice guy, we’ve roleplayed together a little bit and I’ve seen that you’re great at it. You’re just a great writer. Like Z said, we wouldn’t know what to do on anniversaries without you. These anniversaries are important I think, and it seems like they bring the community together a bit. Good job, J.

People I don’t know very well...

Adfalcon - I talked to you more when I was new to the site, but I don’t know you very well. I haven’t really seen you much anymore. I hope we get to talk again!

Deku Nut - I met you in the summer, and I think you’re a cool guy. I know you’re busy, but I want to see a bit more of you!

Zmanextreme - You just returned to Age of War but we’ve already talked a bit. You’re a nice kid and seem pretty enthusiastic about coming back. Not much people have left for so long and come back like you, so good job. We need more of that.

Ryli - I have really only talked to you once I think, but I hope we will get the chance to talk again. You seem like a cool person!

Killerrabbit - I have never really seen a character from you and I don’t know you too well, but I have seen you in the shoutbox a few times, more when I was new to the site. I know you by your distinctive pink shoutbox text. Please come visit from time to time.

Then there are names of people I remember but I’m pretty sure I never talked to them--Theo Gren, Master Sword, Star, Mysterie, Zeke Wolfe. I want to meet you guys, just a little visit would be cool. But you might never even see this message. Then there’s Elliot. Everyone seems to love you so I really want to meet you. Maybe we talked once right before you left, I dunno. I think I joined the site as you left. Even though we never met, I have read some of your roleplaying. It would be cool if you came back.

I am totally looking forward to the next year with you guys. I can’t wait to see what happens in the roleplay. I am all for Z’s hopes for the future. It would be sad if someone left. I also hope that the site will reach a more active point. It actually hasn’t been too bad lately compared to earlier in the year, but obviously more activity would be awesome. I hope the next year will be more active in general, and I dream for a summer of awesomeness. It would also be really cool just to meet some people I never got the chance to meet. And who knows, maybe we will see some new users in 2014.

Happy Birthday, Age of War! (Year Three)

Hey guys, and happy birthday! It's been a great (yet slow) nother year, which of course means I put together a video with images from the various conversations throughout the year. A few things:
-Remember you read it from down to up.
-There's music for everyone, but some might not be for your taste so feel free to mute and use your own music at any point you want.
-Some of the images might go by a bit fast for you to read, so just pause if you need it.
And of course, it's not perfect, there were a couple mistakes, but hey you get to see me awkwardly in front of a camera for 20 seconds so it's gotta be worth somethin, right?
        Without further ado, enjoy!

I loved reading the chats again guys, and I really do hope it to be a great year 2014. Thanks for everything, and see you around!

Love the video, J., you did great once again.

Well, I guess I'll do the same that Peeps and Z did. If I tried to make a long complicated speech, I'd be trying to come up with it until next year.

When I first joined AoW was while my sister had her little netbook. honestly, I was a bit of a stickler for rules then, and when she said she joined a forum without asking the parents, I freaked out. Really, I don't know what I was so worked up about. Eventually, she managed to convince me join, and I made my first character, Narus. I started working with him, but then the site moved. and before I knew it, it had moved again and again until it finally stopped at the last AoW (I think it was proboards). By that time, I had lost most interest in the site, but I decided to make a character anyway. Well, he sucked. I got in one post with him before I lost inspiration. At that point, I lost interest all together and only used AoW to chat with people (mainly Elliot). Soon, though, I was made inactive, and decided to really work to get back into it, making the Narus I have now (who's waiting for inspiration, go figure). And that leads us to the present. I know I'm not exactly a social butterfly, and I don't really talk that much, but I really wish to change that and really get to know you guys more.

Now I'm sure you don't want to listen to me babbling about stuff, so I'll just get on to my shout-outs. This isn't in any particular order.

Elliot-My little buddy (even though he's older than me). I remember that we would stay up for hours talking about random things. Before that, though, I remember everyone would tease him and make fun of him, but he still was always happy and laughing, even making the cutest character on the site (Odin). I really miss him and I wish he's alright.

Zeke-I figure we ought to give the creator a little credit, even though I think I'm the only one who talks to him on a regular basis. He and I are really close, and we'll also spend hours talking or just sitting and enjoying the other's company. Wow, that sounded gay. I honestly see him as my brother in all but blood. I've helped him through some tough times, and he's helped me through tough times.

J-I remember that you're the first person I met on here. I was using my sister's account and chatting while she was playing OoT. You were all joking about how I must be an imposter sent to spy on the community. I also remember a little... "conversation" that we had that went like this:
J: I need to get changed.
          Mids: can we watch?
Me: *records J changing and posts it on Youtube.

Kairu-I guess I see you as that awesome dad that everyone wishes they had, but think they'll never get. You're one of the coolest guys I know, though I usually find myself bringing up Google/Wikipedia just to figure out what you're talking about. You're also the one who showed me that Doctor Who is not "just another show".

Ammy-You never fail to put a smile on my face. A smile, or a confused look. You are the most random person I have ever met, always talking about whatever's going on in your head at the time. Really, nothing could do you justice.

Blendercat-Wow, it's been awhile since we've talked, hasn't it? I remember we would get into fight about the smallest and stupidest of things, and I always thought you were a jerk. I'm past that now, and really, you're a cool guy, and I hope we can RP together in the future.

Peeps-You took the words right out of my mouth. You're another brother of mine, and really, I don't what else there is to say.

Z-Yes, you're last. Deal with it :P. Honestly, I'm not sure what to say. We're rarely on at the same time, but when we are, we have the best conversations, even if it's usually about games. I don't think you know this, but one of those conversation actually helped me get over the death of one my hamsters, and I'm truly grateful for that.

The rest of the people: Theo, Deku, GoronLink, Ryli, and Master Sword, I don't really know that well, but I hope that I can get to know them.

Everyone's saying that they hope to see a great year in 2014, but I hope to see a great five years, or ten years, or even twenty. I know that may seem a lot, but I genuinely hope that even when we're all grown up and busy with jobs, we can still get together as friends and RP together. I don't know were I would be. A lot lonelier, that's for sure. I really wish we can meet each other in person someday and all hang out as friends. I love you all and wish Age of War a Happy Birthday.
Nobody is perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am perfect.
