    Happy 4th Anniversary AoW!

    Happy Anniversary Age of War! It has now been FOUR YEARS since the site was created. I honestly can't believe it, but it's true. This is the thread where every year we all share our gifts and congratulations and thanks for everyone on the site, and wish each other an amazing new year.

    As has become customary, I am working on the Anniversary Flashback video, but I have been extremely busy the past few weeks and it isn't done yet. I hope you will forgive tardiness, but I promise you it will be out before the new year!

    In the meantime, if you guys have something to share, please do. You guys know I love you and I hope this next year will be incredibly amazing <3

    Well, I know I skimmed my thanks and appreciations in my latest update post, but in case anyone didn't read it or catch it, I just want to show my appreciation to everyone. You're all magnificent and fantastic. And while we may not always get along (still), that's just how most families work. I do want to include that without you all, I wouldn't be having the joy and fun I get from managing Age of War. While we may not be constantly active, I see everyone's names from time to time on the "Who's Online" section and I know you all still come back. In review, as a cliffnotes summary, here's what we've managed over the past year:
    • Numerous new members, especially as of late.
    • Two Minecraft servers, one unmodded the other modded.
    • Roleplaying progression and new innovative ideas to come.
    • Sephira and Co. make landfall (?)
    • A new theme (finally).
    • #Dyle2014



    Looking forward, with the introduction of a Guns of Icarus section and influx of new members, hopefully, we can become something even bigger and better over the next year to reach our fifth! Thank you for our fourth year anniversary, Age of War! Here's to a great 2015!

      Well, you guys wouldn't know it, but I'm a man of few words. When I'm saying a lot of stuff, I'm either forcing it out of myself, or I'm extremely calm. Today, both of those things are impossible. So instead of a long paragraph thanking everybody, I made what is possibly the most awkward video in the history of the Internet just for this occasion. Happy Birthday, Age of War. Here's to Year 5.

        Happy anniversary guys, it's been a great 4 years! Well, a little under 4 for me, as I was 'the newbie' for a while. Of course, it has been great becoming friends with all of you. Especially over the last year, it seems, I have gotten to know you all much better through our skype conversations (as strange as they may get) and I am extremely thankful for that. Like everyone, AoW has become a part of me and this year I have become more attached than ever. I guess there hasn't been as much RP lately as there was two years ago, but that's fine because that's not what I'm here for, and I don't think that's really the main reason anyone sticks around anymore (of course I love me all the RP I can get :P). Everyone's here because we've built strong friendships that clearly aren't going to fall apart anytime soon, thank goodness. I have a feeling that AoW will only grow for this next year, in terms of RP content and population, and I will continue my efforts to understand you mysterious, complex creatures. Can't wait to see what'll go down in 2015, from new members and RP progression to Minecraft shenanigans and CAH games! I hope I'll get to know all these new members as well!

          Happy anniversary everyone. I've been spending the day, when not dealing with a customer on the register or with family at home, thinking about our past celebrations, from the long, extravagant celebration we planned on our first one, to the more simple, yet just as fun one last year. Today has been no different, and while I hold J to his promise of a video, I am satisfied with how the year has turned out. Events that have been years in the making have finally occurred *pointed look at Sephira and co* and new ones have been created and followed through. I can't wait to see what the next year will bring for the site.
          As my gift to the site, I have changed the more active members' avatars back to their original ones, from when they first joined. For those of you who haven't saved your previous one, don't worry. I have and I'll change everyone back by the new year, unless asked to do so before. Peeps, I tried finding yours, but I am saddened to say I could not locate it. If you can send it to me, I will be happy to change it back to your KFC-eating Link. ;) In the meantime, enjoy the nostalgia.

            I know it's a day late, and I know that I'm not nearly as active as I should be, but I've come to this thread just the same. I'm glad to be back after that extremely long hiatus (what was it, three years? Yikes!). I'd like to thank people for letting me back in, and for just being totally amazing. It's been nice to get to know everyone a little better, and if I had to choose one thing to be better, it would be the timing of those stupid Skype conversations ;).
            But oh well. It's been fun just the same. I'll probably stay around this year, and thank you all for being great to hang with!
            I remember our first one too... everyone got on the shoutbox, HBC creamed me at Connect Four (for the twelve millionth time) and we had a big ceremony planned out that didn't quite go as planned. But it was a blast!

              Happy anniversary! I guess I'm still kinda the new guy but I don't really see myself as the new guy cause I was actually partof the old forums and then I quit and I had all these weird dreams and-- Yaknow, in four years I was all over the internet. I went almost everywhere, and sure I met knew friends but this site, you guys in general are the reason I am like I am now. This was the first website I really got to be part of, for better or for worse. I mean sure I meet the occasional guy in a TF2 pub that sticks around as a friend, but I've never been able to bring them all together to be a community. When I first joined I was 10, and not very bright and not a very good RPer, all of which still apply to this day (Cept I got more immature). In four years I've clearly become more deadpool obsessed and less messing with people obsessed (Although @HBC, my sister has a cat and the thing is annoying and stupid and I hope my dog eats it.). I belive a few thank yous are in order. First off, HBC, thank you for inviting me to this site, and on a side note, when you invited me I thought it was a videogame. Thank you Eko, you were my first ever real internet friend. Thank you Kairu, for being an awesome admin. And finally thank you to all mods for getting eye cancer just to review my character. And thank you to this site in general, without you I never would have made Reynold and therefore never would have had a job like the one I have. Happy late birthday AoW, and Happy Honnakristmas to all.

                      Happy birthday to this heckin' site. From changing host websites to changing members, I believe we've seen it all. I'm sorry about my spotty presence in the last... two years? One year? Six months? I've never had an accurate sense of time or memory but I do have an accurate sense of belonging to this website. I love it and I love my friends here and everything just really makes me happy. I told my English class before our midterm about J's first anniversary video and just remembering it made me a little misty-eyed.
                      I love how I've had the opportunity to write here before really starting on big projects, I feel like without you all I wouldn't have ever really found a love for writing or discovered it as a gift. I hope we get an influx of members and we get Elliot back, it makes me a bit sad when I think about him and the messages he's left before going MIA.
                      I don't have anything prepared for the anniversary though I may be able to bring in a few people if I have the courage to make my RP habits public. I'm going to start with Zeb, I think. And then maybe move on to a group of Facebook friends and beyond that. I would make a tumblr post advertising us but for fear of seeing those types of people I've avoided it.
                      Unless you guys would want to spread to tumblr, because I think that would be excellent for site growth. I can make a blog and update it and everything. If, that's what Kairu and the other higher-ups would want.
