  • Happy Birthday Age of War!

Well guys, it's finally here: the site is turning 1! For some, there are still some hours left, and for some, it's been it for a few hours already, but no matter, what matters is that on DECEMBER 20, 2010, Zeke created Age of War on ProBoards. From there, Kairu moved it to ZetaBoards, and finally, to vBulletin which is where we are now. It's been some journey, and to celebrate it, I heard some people were making different things! Here everyone can congratulate the site or everyone for surviving a year, and they can post their "presents" for the site. I've had some great experiences with you guys on the site, and I hope to have many more, so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGE OF WAR!

Well, my "gift" for the site was in two parts, as some of you may know. The first part was the Trailer which can be found in a News Post from a while ago, and the second part, the memories of our year together. This video, I'm warning you, is 14 minutes long. It takes you through various moments of our time together and it was made so we could remember the good times. Some of the slides, as you will see, go on too fast and they may be hard to read before they disappear, so if you want to read a specific one, feel free to pause the video. Also feel free to skip around to the images you want, and don't worry if you don't see all of it, though you may want to hear the ending for a little surprise. All in all, this video may not be professional or anything, but the point was for all of us to enjoy. Please note that I had a lot of problems with this video, so issues are to be expected, please try to overlook them. Now without further ado, here it is!

    Happy birthday everyone!

Yes, Happy Birthday, Age of War! Man, this has been one crazy year for all of us, new and old. I want to recollect on all of our favorite personal moments, in addition to J's video. If no one complains about wanting to :P For me, the biggest favorite is, and as lame as it sounds, is when Ryli returned to Age of War. I had a fun time working on the character arc for Kairu in the Hyrule forum and now I'm thoroughly enjoying the Clone Wars RPG and Logata. Speaking of, Logata is my second favorite moment. Everything about it makes me happy. To me, it's a symbol of how close of a community we truly are. Some of us helped create it, while others have become instrumental in keeping it alive. For the upcoming year, I hope we prosper further. I can think of a few things to expand on, or attempt to, for the site, but for now, I'll keep the sight fairly static at the moment.

Edit: After watching the fastest 14 minutes of my life, I must now reveal one fact. I hope you realize I do have rules for the chat and I lost count on how many of the screens broke the rules :P I'm just saying, showing the admin of the site thing you do that breaks the rules is like showing your parents your porn collection. It's just really not the smartest move :P I'm just saying :P Haha. But whatever, today is gonna be a good day.

Thank you all for letting this site last this long and for making it this successful! You guys are seriously my best friends, and I love you all! Happy 1st birthday AoW!

And my favorite memory is when I returned to AoW and was welcomed back by all of you. That made me feel soooooooo happy and it really meant a lot to me! I can't wait to see what new memories we all make in the years to come

yay, you managed to keep it alive for a whole year.
So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.
My 3DS Friend Code is 3437-3052-8998. I'm usually playing the MH4U demo or MH4U(When it comes out), but I'd also be down for 3DS Smash Bros.
(Note to self: The hex code is #d98fef, so don't forget it)

CRAP J I beg you to fix that so my picture isn't in it because technically my mom doesn't even know that I showed you guys and I don't want her to find out. You don't know how much trouble I will be in.

Well, what can I say other then we have finally made it to one year of awesomeness, epicness, amazingness, Age of War-ness!!! For my "gift" I wanted to make a little speech of sorts and explain how Age of War first came into being.

                The Beginning

More then a year ago I had a dream to make a Zelda Roleplay but without any idea where to start I knew that at that time it couldn't happen. Within time ideas finally began to come to me and I made a group on Zelda Dungeon for people who wanted to Roleplay in the land of The Legend of Zelda. That wasn't enough for me though, I wanted something bigger and better so I began the early creation of Age of War. It started with a site design, but quickly came to the conclusion that I would need the help of someone else to really make it a success. So I began talking to a friend of mine, many of you know her as Ryli, I, at that time, knew her as navi_the_fairy. She agreed to help me on it and officially became the Co-Admin of the first version of Age of War. I can honestly say that if it was not for her, Age of War would never have really picked up off the ground, she used a lot of her time finding members who would be intrested in joining us and by the end of the first weekend we already had quite a few members.

With many members joining I knew some new ideas would have to go into play to help the community, which really started the creation of the missions that were bittersweet to say the least. Anyway, it was around that time when something I had not expected to happen, happened, Ryli left the site, because of me... At this time I knew the site could not make it with only me running it so I began to look for staff members to help me, that's when I received Kairu's request to be a staff member. Needless to say his application was amazing and he became the first staff member of Age of War since Ryli's leaving. Unfortunately there is not more of the story I can tell you because I left soon after Kairu was hired, for the rest of the story you'd have to ask him.
Anyway, this brings me to my main point, I want to take the time to thank everyone who has helped make Age of War a success...

Ryli - For agreeing the be the Co-Admin of the original site and helping my dream become a reality.

HBC - For being a great friend, an amazing adviser and for helping the new members with their character applications.

Kairu - For carrying out my dream after I left, if it wasn't for you Age of War would have diminished into nothing, so I thank you for keeping it alive.
And to the members who have joined and helped this site grow, you all have my thanks as well.

Well, this took me longer than it should have to upload. Oh well.

Thank you so much to everyone who gave me ideas, and I am really sorry I didn't get to all of them. For a few others of you, I was able to find patterns other had made, so I will post them.
