I've decided, and it was early, that I will take the site down tomorrow. I have gone through today to collect the files I will need and all of that. Today, I'm going to be saving and downloading the content on the mods and uninstalling them to get it ready for tomorrow. Many features, as I'm sure you will see, including chat, will be eventually taken offline. I will, for the sake of the chat, leave it as the last possible thing.
I have been suggested to upgrade the site from vBulletin 3.8.4 to 4.1.X (whatever version I want). With this comes different mods and features. The biggest ones I can mention are the Quick Reply changes will go back to the default, which won't be that terrible. The other is live topic. I believe this has been broken for some time for some of the users, like me, while it possibly works for others. These two will be removed and may very well not be re-installed if upgraded.
Also, I've concluded that what will happen is that I will install the current version first. Should there be enough votes to upgrade, I will then upgrade, to ensure that we do not lose our content. Futhermore, the wordpress side of Age of War will not be touched. It will continue still be up and active, so not all of Age of War will be gone.
Finally, that last thing will be the two themes. Most you probably will not know this, but the theme coding is the biggest difference between the vBulletin versions. With the upgrade, will likely come whole new themes to be worked on from scratch. It's been some time since I've worked on vBulletin 4.X.X's theme editor (or lack of). Should I upgrade, this will be the BIGGEST thing to be worked on. As all of you know, I'm a big fan of visuals, and this will likely be the number one priority. But enough of this. It's now up to you guys.
Should I upgrade the site? Reply and give me some feedback. Thank you.
