  • Site Update - March 4th, 2012

In short, this is a list of the site changes after the server reset.

vBulletin upgraded version. Age of War used to run on vBulletin 3.8.4. I have updated vBulletin to version 4.1.11. Because of this, we have two new active themes and things look... different. One theme is a mobile theme which needs to be worked on, and the vBulletin default theme which needs the icons replaced. Speaking of icons, the current Zelda icons need to be resized appropriately to look better with the new constraints on the new vB version.

Also, with the upgraded version came new and removed features. The shoutbox has been replaced by a not as mobile friendly shoutbox. I have yet to experience this issue myself on my phone, so my help is limited on this issue. However, I am well aware that several members are suffering from this and the issue needs to be addressed. Also, as of the moment, the wiki and arcade have been removed. The arcade will likely not come back unless popular demand asks so. However, I am planning on getting a wiki in. No worries, the articles were saved before being removed.

Furthermore, the live topic mod has been replaced by live thread. It's essentially the same thing. Also with the new version, personal blogs have returned. As I don't have intentions of using it, I am unfamiliar with how to get to it. When a user finds it, I will set something up to explain how to get to it. Also, as most of you have noticed, while typing, the site now saves drafts of your post. Should there ever be an error, the data should reload automatically. If you have questions or concerns, please get ahold of me or post a topic in the appropriate location. Thank you for reading this.

I just wanted to say that I have tried the shoutbox on my phone, and it isn't really all that much of a pain. The only thing I don't like is having to scroll over to see the chat and then scroll back over to reply. All that aside, it works fine on my phone (HTC Evo 4G).

The problem I have with the shoutbox is everything is the same color and there is a ton of code and somewhere in the code is the message. The message is really hard to find and shouts are not seperated in lines. I was thinking there might be a mobile style that included a shoutbox. But don't feel like you have to do this kairu, I can survive without chatting, the mobile version really has everything but the shoutbox.

Ryli, that's the only issue I have as well. Falcon, you have the same issue with Ammy. There isn't anything I can do to correct this except say use the mobile version for mobile, or log in from a smarter device or even a computer. It's not something I can control.
