Name: Bal Ficher
Gender: Male
Race: Hylian
Age: 26
Occupation: Monster Exterminator/Treasure Hunter
Appearance:
Bal is 5'10", with dark floofy Dark Brown hair that looks a bit gold in
the light. His hair sits at his shoulders, unless he pulls it back into a
ponytail. He has sideburns, stubble, and two dark brows with a large
scar cutting through the right eyebrow(His right, your left) that he got
from a monster in his youth. He is told that his dark brown eyes are
just like his mothers.
He wears old and worn clothes that are good quality despite the wear
and tear. He leans against things whenever he stops to talk or look
around due to his life on boats, trying to keep balance. His boating
experience also lends to his jaunty walk that exudes a confident
demeanor he doesn't possess.

Bal is a very likable and charismatic person on the outside. He learned
to speak to people because of his upbringing on the sea. This
understanding helps him to get past tense situations and get better
deals, both giving and taking.
On the inside he is very kindhearted with a strong sense of justice,
however this is almost always at battle with his single goal in life which
causes his real thoughts and deeds to be more sharp and uncaring
than his words. He has moments where he's happy and lets loose, but
he always pulls back to seriousness quickly. Because of this he rarely
smiles unless he needs to.
He in all actuality has very deep and biting anxiety that his road is
dark, dangerous and will lead to his own and possibly others deaths if
he isn't careful. Despite this he knows what he knows and is confident
that he can at the very least fend for himself and get the job done.

-Map Making and Reading
-Tomb Raiding
-Monster Hunting and Extermination
-A number of tricks he learned while at sea, including: Ropes, Boats,
trading and bartering, fishing, and pricing valuable objects.
-Stealth learned during "artifact acquisition"
-Balance
Backstory:
Bal Ficher was born in 64 ATR. He was born under odd circumstances
and was given to a Sheikah fisherman named Zoru, who lived near
Lurelin. Bal never knew of his real parents or what happened to them.
He was raised to be a strong kid, and at the age of six he could be
trusted to help with his surrogate father and his fishing business.
At this age his father took him to a celebration being held at Karakara
Bazaar celebrating 70 years since the calamity. In the revelry he made
several friends who would introduce him to his later profession,
"Artifact Retrieval" (Treasure Hunting(Tomb raiding (Basically Theft with
more steps))). In the years Bal knew him, Zoru made many more trips
to the Gerudo region. Later visits to Gerudo lands, though his father
was more than welcome, became next to impossible. The king had
made several threats, several accusations, and taking an entire
Gerudo crew captive, causing Gerudo to be very Anti-Hylian. Fearing
Bal's safety he made no mention of the Gerudo or of his travels.
While he was still young he and his father spotted a couple on the
shore being pursued by monsters. They rushed back to help and stood
between 3 Bokoblin's and their victims. While Zoru held off two of the
monsters Bal did his best to fend off the third, armed with an oar. The
battle lasted only a minute in which Zoru killed his two and Bal
miraculously stabbed the third with a now broken oar. This only after
the Bokoblin destroyed his oar, sending his blade across his brow and
leaving a massive scar. The couple were rushed to the village where
the man died from his injuries. The woman waited a week and left
back to Clock Town.
He and his father focused on their trade and as he grew he began
picking up tricks from passing salesmen from all across the land. Some
of these merchants were Gerudo who he had met at the 70th
celebration, and they would teach him about valuable items. Gem
stones and artifacts that were very valuable and could be sold at high
prices to people who didn't know better. These merchants also talked
about the state of the land and the injustice that was imposed by the
King. Living up the coast from Lurelin had the benefit of not being
hassled by the Hylian army as much as the mainland did, so these
stories were very disturbing and hard to believe when Bal, and many
villagers heard them.
As the years passed news came that the King was stepping down and
many expressed fear that the prince would be just as bad as his father.
Time proved that to be false and many were hopeful. Bal however had
his whole world torn from underneath him when his father was killed.
He had left to town to sell the days catch to a merchant and spent the
rest of the afternoon on the shore, catching up with the regular faces
around the town. When night had begun to set in he returned home to
find the hut destroyed and his father missing, only blood and the
unmistakable signs of a monster raid. The ruins and tracks matched no
monster he had ever heard of. Regardless the sand covered their
retreat and Bal never knew what who or what had killed Zoru. This
string of events led to him to sell his families possessions and boat in
order to travel Hyrule and find the person or thing responsible for his
fathers demise.
From the age of 16 to 20 he followed merchants and helped them
"Recover" lost artifacts to sell at absurd prices to nobles. Always
listening for any tell of the thing that killed Zoru. He made a living
killing monsters across the country and collecting the money. This
money was always spent to get better resources and information.
Once he spent his gains to buy a proper weapon which he had gilded
with a gold vein by a Goron jeweler. Another time buying a gem from
a Gerudo merchant so he could more easily cross the hot desert. It
was during a quiet night by the fire he heard tell of a man who had
knowledge of obscure creatures. From that day on he trained in
secret and hunted any mention of this person. After many years he
heard from someone that a person matching the man's description
might be at the World Fair. And so he heads toward Hyrule Field.
