Mysterie took a deep breath to steady herself, on the verge of tears. She stood. "I.... I'm going to go make us all some tea......" She trudged off to the kitchen and set a teakettle to boil, crying. She made a pot of tea and got down teacups for everyone, then set them and the teapot on a tray with a small bowl of sugar. She wiped her eyes, then took the tray back to the conference room, where everyone was gathered.Comment

Well I think it's fair enough to say this game has slowed down to a halt, whether it be us being inactive or our moderator not logging in since a few days ago. I don't know when this day is going to be ending, but I'll just go ahead and say if we continue being quiet like we are, we're never going to find which one is lying. No one moved a muscle. It was as if everyone had turned into stone. With only five of them now, they found it harder to decide. Less people meant a higher chance of hurting one of their own.
“Well…” Mids hesitantly began, breathing some life into the room, “I still think one of them is at least Mysterie. There’s just something about her…”
“You’ve hated me since the day I joined the academy!” Mysterie cried out in exasperation and jumping out of her seat in the process. She ignored the startled looks of her comrades and continued on. “Always accusing me of doing something wrong since day one! Your opinion is biased!” She swept her eyes across the room, desperately trying to meet with eyes that believed her. “You guys don’t seriously believe I could be Faul or Haze, right?”
“Mysterie, stop it!” Z implored her with pleading eyes. “Shouting at us isn’t going to solve anything! We’re all trying as hard as can!”
“We’re going to have to put in our vote for the townspeople anyway,” J exclaimed, getting a little worried at how vocal his friends were suddenly becoming. “And right now, Mysterie does seem the most suspicious, getting incredibly worked up…” Mysterie stared at him in disbelief.
“No…not you too, J…” J hung his head, looking at his hands on his lap, and said nothing more. Mysterie slowly shook her head. She took a step back.
And ran.
“Stop her!” Blendercat shouted before moving to block the exit himself, faster than his chair could topple over in the rush. He stood in front of the door, his arms and legs open wide to his side. “No one can leave until we’ve all come to a decision! Anyone that leaves will become prime suspect for this investigation!” Mysterie spun around and saw that she was surrounded by J, Mids, and Z, who’d all drawn their swords without her realizing.
She looked down at the ground, her fists hanging limply at her sides. A low chuckle sounded in her throat, making the others cast confused glances at one another. “…Heh…so…this is how it’s going to be, huh?” A sudden black void erupted from where she was standing, blocking the others from seeing her. And before anyone could say anything, there in her place stood a young man clothed in a black robe that seemed to billow in the dark smoke clinging to his ghostly pale skin. His head snapped up and in the place of an innocent young girl’s face was a wide grin, filled with no mercy. “Then let’s see you try to kill the powerful Haze.” He drew a long, blood red rapier, seemingly from out of nowhere. The knights shouted explicits, all of them stumbling back from the enemy-turned Mysterie.
“It was you!” Mids shouted, horror clearly etched in her face. Her left hand gripped the chair in front of her while her right hand seemed to quiver under the weight of her drawn knight’s sword. Haze turned his attention to her, the smile still on his face.
“You guessed right,” he said in a sing-song voice. “And I think I’ll take you as my first victim. You’ve been such a terrible nuisance for me these past few days.” He started to leisurely make his way to her, swinging his sword from side to side.
“You get back!” Mids shouted, pointing her sword at him. Her shaken voice only caused Haze to chuckle harder.
“Look at the kitten acting like a lion. Well, little kitten, it’s time for you to say good night and let the sweet darkness take you.” In the blink of an eye, he was over at Mids’ side, who just barely managed to raise her sword in time to deflect a blow from her opponent’s blade. However, the force of the impact caused her to lose her balance and stumble on one leg to her side. Haze took the small moment of distraction to swing his sword at Mids’ neck…and hissed loudly in surprise. He looked down to see metal pierced through his chest and whirled around with an angry snarl, slicing his blade through the air in the procedure. J back flipped in time to dodge the steel, landing nimbly on his hands and feet. He looked up and gave Haze a fierce glare.
“Leave her alone,” he said in a quiet yet deadly voice.
“We’re still three against one, so you better back down now,” Blendercat warned, standing poised to fight next to J’s side. He glanced down at his fellow comrade who got up on his feet, sword ready and extended, and gave him a single nod before turning his attention back to Haze. “If you quit now, we’ll spare you the humiliation of being hanged in front of the entire village and kill you ourselves.” Haze’s snickering started slow, then broke into full out laughter. He pulled out the sword that J had pierced through him, the weapon clean of any blood. J gasped and stared in horror as, by some terrible magic, the wound seemed to weave and stitch its self together. Soon, the only indication that the man had been cut was the torn fabric clothing.
“Oh my dear ‘comrades’,” he started, giving them a lazy grin. “You’re forgetting one, teensy little thing…” Blendercat suddenly gave a stifled yell. J looked back in alarm to see his companion’s back sharply arching forward, a clear crystal sword through his chest the reason for his sudden behavior. Blendercat’s eyes met with J’s before he toppled forward onto the ground. Midmids screamed. J only stared on in shock, his mind trying to disprove what his eyes saw.
Behind Blendercat’s crumpled body stood Z. J scrambled to his feet and over to Mids. The two knights looked at the two villains before them.
“Z…” Mids managed to choke out. The same black void from before appeared again, this time bigger, and the knight suddenly transformed into a different, more sinister-looking man. This man’s eyes were pitch black, making it hard to tell who exactly he was looking at. He cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders before snapping his fingers. The sword in Blender’s back instantly disappeared.
“I suppose there is no point in hiding our appearances anymore,” Faul said in a placid tone as he walked towards the remaining knights. “Now then…” Blue fireballs burst into life hovering over the palms of his upturned hands. “What was that about three against one?”
