HBC woke up from her nap to find three guns pointed at her face. Sitting up, she saw it was Batpool, J, and SW who held her at gun point.
"You can't be serious!" HBC exclaimed. "J, you know I'm not one of them!"
"You told me it was Deku." J said, his hand beginning to shake and a solitary tear coming out of his eye. "The real HBC wouldn't do that."
Becoming impatient with the chatter, SW shot HBC twice through the heart. An orange-ish color began to surround HBC's body, which provoked Batpool to put a third bullet through her heart. She took one last breath, then died.
"You idiot!" SW said, pistol whipping Batpool. "Didn't you see she was regenerating? Shifters don't do that! She was the Doctor, our only Bulletproof!"
Again, the group went to sleep on a sour note, knowing that the shifters were getting close to victory.
