Sup? Well an idea I've been thinking and proposing/discussing on TNO is the hypothetical (yet practical) future for Hyrule.
I would like to think that Hyrule went Industrial. What do I mean? Consider Spirit Tracks, a Zelda game involving the use of locomotives and steam (so we assume). Well wouldn't it make sense that along the path of that thinking that an industrial revolution hit Hyrule? Take the timeline involving post OoT and no WW. Hyrule alone has plenty of resources to make steam. Take the mountains around Death Mountain, I would bet that there is plenty of natural coal in the mountains. Furthermore, you can use the trees to burn for more steam power and make charcoal. With that abundance, it would only be natural that someone puts the pieces together to make a steam engine.
With that invention there is usually two options to choose from. The first being our reality. Steam engines are used in locomotives and factories and for the dawn of electricity. Or the second (my personal favorite), the route of Steampunk. Steampunk, if you don't know is usually described as the use of steam engines for more of a military purpose, such as airships and ironclad tanks and trains. I would love to imagine Hyrule eventually flourishing into the Steampunk era, one involving powerful airships soaring through the sky and take the fight from land to air. I love to imagine the industrial Hyrule being full of Airships suspended over their homebase.
With all that said, if we EVER (and I mean this VERY VERY hypothetically) get to a point where Age of War dulls and has that 'technological' potential, would this be an idea you would like to see? It's not anything that will likely happen soon since naval ships are just starting out, but a technology bomb could happen.
Whatcha think?

Some of it, though, would influence who my characters end up with.
