Tennor growled and kicked at James's head. He had two goals for this move: hit James hard, and fall to the ground, for other reasons. He wondered what James would do next.

Sephira grinned at the two combatants fought, curious as to how they would procede. Suddenly, she felt her body heat up. She sighed, and quickly as she could, undressed before her phoenix form could rip her clothes. She was just in time, too, she shifted just as she pulled her shirt over her shoulders. She shook it off her head, then carefully put all her clothes in her pack. She then spread her wings and picked up her pack in her claws.
She flapped her wings, eventually gaining hieght. The pack was much too heavy to carry long, but she didn't need to. She flew over to the newly bought house and laid it just in the doorway. She riffled through it, searching for some paper. She found some rather quickly, but then had the problem of writing a message. She normally used a charcoal stick, but her talons wouldn't hold one.
Sighing, she pushed her way into the house and walked over to the table. She knew it was going to be destroyed in one way or another, so she didn't feel guilty about burning her message into it.
A few minutes later, she stepped outside and looked around. Not seeing anyone, she spread her wings and flew off, leaving behind a large red feather for the others.

Star followed Sephira with her gaze, then walked into the house and shook herself dry. She knew Sephira wanted time to herself, even if she didn't think she did, and had shifted into her phoenix form to get it faster. The cheetah wandered over to the table and laid down next to it, glancing at the message burned into.
I am sorry to say that I must depart. I will return as soon as I am able. Do not worry for me, I will be fine. I trust my supplies and partners will be taken care of while I am away. Until then, I wish you luck with your new house, Elliot, Rose, James.

      Sephira

Midnight stood up, upset that he had ruined a perfect moment for the two humans, even if he did not understand why it was important. He butted Rose's leg and licked Elliot's hand, apologizing to them both.
Before they responded, he looked up, his ears cocked. He couldn't see anything, but he scented the sulferic scent of Sephira in her phoenix form, could hear the beat of her wnigs. He sighed low in his chest, knowing that she was in another one of her moods.

James closed his eyes as he felt his face warm up due to the kick. He rolled backwards and took a stand again, staring deep into Tennor's eyes. Suddenly he charged again, this time when he was a few feet away twirled in a circle, so that when he reached Tennor with one hand he slapped him across the face and with the other he slashed at him with his knife. Obviously he didn't aim to deal a fatal blow, but at least to wound Tennor would suffice.

Tennor dodged the knife, only to be slapped an hurling back into the knife, his arm cut open. He grittes his teeth, "What are you, James? Some kind of angry ex?" he laughed at his joke and kicked between his legs.

James jumped backwards to dodge the kick and looked at Tennor. "Nah, I'm cooler than that." He charged again, this time clashing sword Tennor's sword with his knife and holding it there, between their faces. The rain had slowed to a drizzle, but the water still dripped from their hair, into his eyes, but it didn't stop him from seeing everything that was happening. "I am the guy that's about to beat you."

Elliot allowed Rose to drag him along, relieved that she was going back. He did detect an annoyed tone in her voice, though, and he noticed that she was clenching his hand just a little too hard for comfort. He'd have to make it up for her later. He tousled the scruff of Midnight's neck to assure him that all was well when he saw the wolf look up and give a low growl. Well, maybe not all was well. He followed the canine's gaze into the sky just in time to see a fiery red bird duck into the clouds. He looked back down at Midnight. "Sephira?" he asked, already knowing the answer. After all, how many phoenixes in the world were there? Midnight merely nodded. "Hm. I hope she's alright," he muttered.

Tennor laughed, "Good luck with that." He stepped out of the way and saw an orange gleam in the sky. "What the moblin?" he asked himself.

When Tennor looked up James saw his chance. He kicked Tennor's hand, successfully knocking his sword away. Then he put a foot behind Tennor's and pushed him, successfully tripping him and making him fall backwards. He knelt on one knee over him and held the knife to his throat. "I guess I win then," he smiled.

(Since you are taking a break I decided to end the fight DN. If you didn't want it to happen I apologize and tell me and I will edit. If not then...OK )

(I'm not breaking yet, but I was wondering how long it would last... still fine with me)
Tennor smiled and said, "Congratulations, James. You beat me," he raised his hands in compliance. This one had been a close fight. If only he hadn't been distracted by that... that... what was it anyway?

                    • James smiled and stood up, extending his hand to help Tennor up as well. "What was it that distracted you anyways?" he asked, looking back at the sky to see if maybe it was still there, but he saw nothing out of the ordinary. Was there a...red dot in the distance? He was probably imagining it, though it did look like a bird...maybe...nah, he was over thinking this.

                      • Tennor took his hand and stood up, "I saw this... orange light. Over there," he pointed, "You see it?" It reminded Tennor of fire, maybe a bird... but it couldn't be either, "Is that normal around here?" he asked.

                        • James shook his head, the only time he had ever seen something like that before was when... "Sephira," he whispered under his breath. He shook it off and turned back to Tennor, "Well, it doesn't matter, come on let's go back inside, no reason staying outside in the rain after the fight. Also, I don't think Elliot and Rose will be long now." He ran to his shoes and picked them up, then seeing that his shirt had been consumed by mud and rain decided it was better to leave that there. He could get another one later. He began heading for the house.

                            • "Spar," Tennor corrected, "There's a difference," he smiled, "And I nearly won this time." He stepped just inside, not far enough to drip too much water. He shelled his coat and hung it just outside.

                              • James smiled, "Yeah, Rose, don't worry about it. It's nice to see you two are back though." He followed Tennor's lead and stood just at the entrance, waiting for himself to dry off. Of course, it would be better if someone grabbed them a towel, but he would just have to dry off like this. James didn't notice Sephira's message, he was too caught up in his own thoughts. That was when he remembered. "Hey, I got something for you, dad. It's over there on the counter, I hope it helps." He motioned to the counter, were something (the money) was covered by a small cloth.
