After examining the shop's junk for a few minutes, Kairu walked out of the store. Wasting no time, he goes to leave Kakariko. He kept thinking something was out of place, he just didn't know what.

Zeb raised one of his eyebrows. "Useful? In what sense is he useful to you, Sephira? There is a ton of things you could use him for." Zeb stated. Now Zeb was feeling happy all around. He had decided there was nothing he could do about the Sephira conflict now, so he let go of it.

Sephira glanced up sharply. "If you are suggesting what I think you are, I will cut out your balls and feed them to the first animals who would dare eat them. It would take some finding, though, for they must be too rotten for even the flies to touch." She glared at him for a little longer, then returned her attention to Star. "And he is more useful than you anyways, always arguing with me, telling me I'm going the wrong way. You can't imagine how nice it is to have a man who doesn't see my Stari training as foolishness."Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Athair had enough of sitting around. He decided it was time to join the conversation, so Athair walked up to Zeb and asked what was going on. Zeb proceeded to translate the conversation in the most accurate way he could, and the result of that was Athair getting angry.
"Tell her that only people lower than the maggots on the ground result to violence after someone has told a joke that may offend them." Athair said, looking Sephira in the eyes after he finished his setence.
"The old man basically said you need to learn how to take a joke." Zeb said, hoping Sephira would calm down instead of taking action.Comment

Sephira was surprised when the older man spoke and that it was a different language. She bristled when Zeb translated what he said. It might have been a joke, but she was sensitive to that sort of thing. Her phoenix powers would vanish if she concieved. She had come close to that once a year ago, when HE had pretended to love her. And her powers were too precious to her to lose yet.
Star growled a warning as Sephira started to heat with her building anger. The Stari caught herself and took a deep breathe. Star murmered sympatheticly to her, as the cheetah understood why she had reacted as she had.Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

James did little but glare at the guy when he said the rude "joke" like he had called it. He got closer to Sephira and gently (maybe a little bit cautiously) grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly without taking his eyes away from Zeb, trying to tell her to relax, that it was OK. "Joke or not, you should keep your tongue from slithering that type of comment, Zebulon. You never know who you might cross with them." He said this as coldly as he could.Comment

Zeb began to reply but Athair pushed him aside and walked up to James and punched him in the stomach. "Lets leave, whippersnapper." Athair said, turning around and walking away. "Uh....see you guys later....have a good life together....please don't kill us..." Zeb said, fast walking away so he could get very far away from Sephira and James before they came after him and Athair in a rage.

Sephira tensed faintly when she felt a hand on her shoulder, but relaxed as she felt the gentle, albiet cautious, squeeze. Luckily, she had cooled down enough not to burn James' hand, although she was still fairly warm. She was exceptionally pleased when he defended her.
She was surprised, however, at the speed with which the old man moved. Otherwise, she would have stopped him from hitting James. The man walked away while she was still shaking off the surprise. Zeb followed him, leaving with a mixed blessing and prayer for them not to take vengence. Lucky for them, Sephira had already walked down that path and decided it was not worth the trouble.
She did, however, spit after them and utter a Stari curse. She knew it was pointless, but it made her feel better. She stood and looked at James. "You alright?"Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

James didn't have time ti react before the old man hit him. He closed his eyes as he absorbed the pain and clutched his stomach. When he opened them he swallowed a curse and stared angrily at the place where the old man and Zeb had walked off to. Finally he heard Sephira's question and after swallowing again said, "Yeah, I'm fine." After thinking a bit he decided to add, "How do you know that guy anyways?"Comment

"He ran into me while I was in Castle Town. Said it was my fault and challenged me to a fight. Of course, his angery attacks did not stand very well to my calmer ones. He accepted the defeat rather graciously, and has often sought me out for help in his various jobs afterwards." Sephira shrugged. "We never got along very well, always bickering. Thankfully, he knows how to swallow his pride when he is in the wrong during a job, and I know how to walk away." She laid a hand on James. "Come on, let's get back to the house. I can cook you dinner." Star made a noise that sounded to Sephira's ear like a snicker. She rolled her eyes at the cheetah. "I know enough to not poison him. James processed her story and smiled, that definitely sounded like Sephira. He gave a little laugh when she said she'd cook for him and Star smirked. "Don't worry, I'm sure you're food's great," he smiled, then added, "but I'm only letting you cook if I get to do something so you don't have all the work." He winked, then gently and slowly put his arm around her waist, not too tight. He could tell she was very timid about that kind of affection, so he hoped with time she would stop stiffening whenever he touched her. He then began to walk in the direction of the house, gently pulling her along.Comment

Sephira smiled. "I think I can come up with something for you to do. It'll depend on what sort of food we have back at the house and what I have in my pack." She felt his arm go around her and stiffened. Then she ignored the contact and started to mentally run through her list of supplies in her pack. It wasn't much, but she was certain she could make a meal of it.
Star followed behind them. She had noticed James put his arm around Sephira, and how the girl stiffened. However, she noticed it was less so than previous times. The cheetah gave a purr. James smiled, "I'm sure we'll think of something...or maybe you will, I'm blank." He kept walking with her, not minding where he was walking. The way to the graveyard had seemed so long, but for some reason the way back to the house had ended shorter than expected. He removed his arm from her waist and opened the door, which gave off a little creak. He smiled and said, "After you."Comment

Sephira smiled and stepped inside. The house was starting to get dark as evening fell, so she called a small flame to light the room as she picked her way to where her pack lay. She opened it and started to rifle through, seeing what all she had. She glanced back at James. "I don't have anything to cook with. Do you know if there are any pots anywhere? Otherwise I'll just have to fry something."
Star snorted from where she sat by the door. That's what you would have done anyways. Sephira rolled her eyes and continued to search her bag, pulling out ingrediants she'd use.Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
