Midnight's ears pricked up and he raised his snout in the air to sniff. He thought he could detect someone close by, someone familiar, though all this rain kept washing away the scent. He tugged at Elliot's cloak, urging the man to get up and investigate. "You want to go out again?" Elliot asked the wolf in disbelief. "What more could be out there?" He gave Avalona an apologetic look. "I'll be right back. I'm just going to see what's bothering him this time." He got to his feet and started back out of the cave with Midnight already a few feet ahead.

Rose was crumpled up, totally defeated. She shivered violently,she was sure the cold wind and rain was making her temperature drop well below what it should be. "I'm too cold" she said softly "well, a cold death is perfect for someone with a cold heart" with that rose passed out, she was still breathing and her heart was still beating, but unless someone helped her soon she would die.sigpicI want to say a big thank you to zeke for making me the picture for my birthday.

Avalona followed them, hoping she would be able to help. She gasped softly, hearing something. "There's someone out there. It sounds like they're crying!" She ran ahead of them, coming to a stop near Rose. "Excuse me, miss? Are you ok?"Comment

Elliot and Midnight caught up with Avalona in a matter of seconds. And with each step closer, the figure on the ground grew more familiar.
"Rose!" Elliot skidded to a stop and practically fell onto his knees as he swooped her up into his arms. "Hey! Say something!" Her skin felt icy cold and she was completely drenched. Midnight kept moving back and forth around them in circles and would repeatedly attempt to wake her up by licking her in the face. Elliot looked over at Avalona with panicked eyes. "We need to get her back to the cave! Now!"Comment

Avalona nodded. "I'll run ahead and get some hot soup going, and set up a pallet for her." She took off the cloak that had come with the clothes he had leant her and handed it to him. "She needs it more." She ran back to the cave and immediately put the leftover stew over the fire to heat, then began making a pallet near the fire for Rose.Comment

Rose had no idea what was going on, instead her mind was a black screen with her worst memories playing. Ganondorfs kidnapping her and abusing her, putting her new friends in danger, telling Elliot she had just used him, that was her worst memory, the look on his face still hunted her "I did it to protect him" the words weekly escaped her mouth, as the memory replayed over and over in her headsigpicI want to say a big thank you to zeke for making me the picture for my birthday.

Elliot stood up with Rose still in his arms and started for the cave. He thought he heard her mumble something, which set him a little more at ease. If she was talking, she had to be okay, right? Yet her face was still etched with pain. "Just hang in there," he said, holding her tight against his chest. After what felt like an eternity to him, he finally got to the cave. Both of them still dripping wet, he set her down on the make-shift bedding that Avalona had made for her.Comment

Avalona ran over and helped him get her settled, then got a bowl of soup. She carefully propped the girl up and gently spooned some of the broth into her mouth. "Come on, miss. You need to eat something warm, or you'll get sick. You're with friends now, we won't hurt you. We just want to help." She looked up at Elliot. "You need to eat something warm, too."Comment

rose's body responded to the touch, as she swollowed the soap however her mind was still somewhere else. the room was totally black, though it seemed more like the background, and she was facing elliots sad face "why, did you do it" said the dream elliot
"Im sorry" rose cried, "i couldnt stand hurting you anymore, and being around me always endgered you" rose didnt realise that she was speaking allowed, all she knew was the dream.sigpicI want to say a big thank you to zeke for making me the picture for my birthday.

As he watched Avalona feed Rose and do everything to make her feel better, he gave her a grateful look. He didn't know how he'd repay her kindness but he knew he would. "I'll eat some soup later," he said, "right now, I just want to make sure she's okay." He took off his soaked cloak since it was already weighing him down and tossed it aside. A cold chill brushed against him but he ignored it and continued to rub Rose's arms and back in a desperate attempt to keep her warm. Suddenly she cried out, and he wouldn't have realized that she was talking about him if Avalona hadn't said anything. "I've told you time and time again that I don't care how many people I have to fight against to be with you," he said, caressing the side of her face with the back of his hand. "What do I have to do to prove to you that I meant every word I said?"Comment

Avalona smiled kindly at her. "I'm Avalona. You're safe now." She gently placed her hand on Rose's forehead, then looked up at Elliot. "Her fever's going down. Now go get dried off, before you end up sick too! You can't very well take care of your sweetheart if you're as ill as she is, now can you?" She turned back to Rose.
