Verigan stumbled back, dropping his knife. He reached for the other one on his belt, but his hand met nothing but air. He scrambled for the blade on the floor, praying she wouldn't attack in the second it took for him to find it. He grabbed it by the hilt and ducked under her attack, scrambling away in the same motion. 'I don't do fights! Where the h*** are the others? And who took my knife?'

Avalona backed away from the man, wide-eyed with fear. Please, Goddess, let them be safe.... let my family be safe.... She slowly backed towards the place where she had hidden her bow and arrows, looking for something, anything she could throw to buy herself some time. "Guys! Go warn the others! Please!"
Gwyna slipped along the wall towards the barn door, slipping Verigan's knife from her sleeve.Comment

after trying to find the door was sealed, Rin pulled out his buck-knife, better have his weakest weapon than nothing at all. he cut the ropes through the crack in the door and slowly brushed it open. we're under raid, and I left my equipment in the house, he thought. "they're back. we wont stand a chance without our equipment." he walked through the door and nimbly started to climb the drainage pipe.Comment

Gwyna grabbed Rin's leg and twisted, pulling him down from the pipe. "You die this time." She plunged the knife into his side.Comment

Rin rolled to the side and readied his knife. "No." he said. his original stealth may have been lost, but he could take one. he got up, a few rocks in his palm.Comment

Gwyna circled him warily. "No choice. You will die." She lunged at him, slashing at his arm.Comment

Meldos, who had tuned out slightly, rushed in. He would never forgive himself. He saw a boy locked in combat with Gwyna. He drew his halberd, jumping at him. He smiled, knowing it would be the boy's end.
The blade flew past him, being trailed by a chain. He was caught and landed roughly. He felt it draw back under him, grunting as the hilt scraped across his chest. He looked up, and saw a cloaked figure standing in the door to the barn, his image seeming to shimmer slightly from the cloak.
Could it be? No, it cant... can it?
He held two swords. He raised another and it flew at him. Meldos was quicker to react this time, flicking his halberd and managing to get the chain to wrap around it. He jerked it backwards, and the person stumbled forward. Meldos shook it off and went for an upward stroke, but the figure turned and caught the blade on his cloak. It fell, the hood separated. Grunting, the figure tore it off and threw it at Meldos, who stumbled back, swinging his halberd as he fumbled with the hood. When both looked at each other, they paused for a moment. Meldos was stunned to see his brother, Kainis, smoldering with rage. He had a bandage on his leg and upper chest, but he still seemed ready to fight. Kainis was equally stunned to see Meldos, apparently leading the charge against the bandits. After a few seconds, he was the first to speak. "What in the god's names are you doing here? I thought you were against the bandits! They killed our family!"
"Foolish and hard-headed as always. The bandits were the key to my success. I lead them now! I have unimaginable power! And you, Kainis... you would complete our force."
"Idiot. I'd never join you!" He lunged, his bladeshots gleaming. Meldos wound back with his halberd. The raid had truly begun.So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

Rin blocked it with his brace and threw a stone in return. Missing by a foot, he hoped it was enough of a distraction for him to sprint to the farmhouse. he may have lost his stealth-early, but he didn't have an encounter all the way there. he grabbed his equipment, and with throwing stars in hand, he stepped out to join the fight.Comment

Verigan flipped his knife so it pointed downwards and ran at the girl, holding the arm with the knife up to protect his face. He slashed down with it clumsily, hoping to hit her, then leaped away and grabbed onto one of the loose hanging ropes, swinging back. He landed on his feet, a little clumsy, taking a quick look for some escape before getting back into the fight.Comment

Deana stayed still and silent, watching her twin fighting Rin. If she felt she needed to step in, or if Gwyna called her, Deana would fight. But right now, it was her twin's battle. So she would remain hidden by the shadows, waiting. Her ears registered the sounds of Medlos and Verigan fighting as well, but she remained focused on her twin.Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Avalona cried out in pain as the blade slashed across her chest, leaving a deep gash. She grabbed her bow and an arrow from behind a pile of hay bales and, in one smooth motion, nocked the arrow and let it fly, aiming for the bandit's shoulder in the hopes of pinning him to the wall.
Gwyna sped after Rin, easily catching up to him. She slammed her foot into his wounded leg and knocked it out from under him. She would not let him escape, not when Meldos had put his trust in her to finish the job.Comment

Verigan felt an arrow pierce his cloak and sink into the wound but ignored it, keeping light on his feet as she no led another arrow. The pain would come later, but now he just needed to get out alive and complete the raid. Kill her if he needed to, but that wasn't priority. He leaped to the side as she drew back, throwing himself behind a bale of hay.Comment

Avalona grabbed her quiver from behind the hay bales and slung it over her shoulder, gasping in pain as the strap pressed against the wound across her chest. She quickly notched another arrow and drew. "Why are you doing this? We have done nothing to deserve this! Why can't you just leave us alone?" She slowly moved towards the bandit's hiding place, blinking away tears. She couldn't afford to cry now, not when the only family she had was in danger.Comment

Kainis sighed. They hadn't done anything to deserve this. 'Listen, if it's me you want, it's me you get! You don't have to terrorize all these people!" Meldos chuckled. "Oh brother, don't you understand? It's the principle of the thing." They launched at each other again, their blades like swishes of light.So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.
