    Sephira hesitated as she heard James, trying to surface from the emotional storm in her mind enough to understand what he had said. She would have ignored it as unimportant and resumed her attack, but Star and Midnight interferred. Star pushed between them and shoved Gerrard away, while Midnight bit her belt from behind and pulled. Sephira tumbled over and turned to stare at the wolf. He pushed his head against her. He said enough.
    Sephira nodded, then stood and bowed to Gerrard, her fist over her heart. "I thank you, star brother." She didn't bestow the honorific lightly, but after enduring so long under her constant barrage, she felt he was worthy of it. She turned to James and bowed to him as well. "And I thank you, star watcher." That honorific meant she acknoledged him as judge.
    Midnight nudged her leg. The treatment, Sephira?
    "I know," she murmered to him, patting his head. She swung her pack off her shoulder, surprised she hadn't taken it off before starting, then sorted through it for the proper herbs. She pulled them out and moved to Gerrard, laying them over his wounds and binding them in place with willow fronds she had grabbed. She didn't meet his gaze, or James', nor did she look at Rose.

      Ea scratched her head. Sephira finally seemed to have subsided. "Star watcher? Star brother? What are you, some sort of cult master? Sounds like something out of one of those preposterous fantasy stories. You know... never mind." She desperately hoped she wasn't getting involved with some sort of half-minded freak.

      So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

        Gerrard thanked Sephira as she treated his wounds, he looked down at his wounds and saw all the frustration she had let out. Although it did hurt, for some reason his pain was less than he would expect with the extent of the injuries. He then lay back and looked at the sky, trying to blot out the pain.

          James nodded firmly as Sephira acknowledged him. He was glad Midnight and Star had stepped in before he had to. Now that Sephira was treating Gerrard's wounds, he wondered how she was really feeling. Had the act of beating up Gerrard really helped? Nevertheless, they needed to get a move on if they were planning on leaving Hyrule today. He moved over to Gerrard and crouched beside him. He didn't speak but looked over the guy's wounds as Sephira worked. He wondered if he'd be able to walk...

          Elwood was getting restless. He didn't know why, but he felt like they had stayed here for too long already. He got up and began pacing around, clutching his unfinished slingshot tightly. If Sephira was done with the beating, why weren't they going already?

            Sephira sighed. "Not a cult," she told Ea without looking up from her work. "I am the last of my tribe. I suppose it can be considered a cult, but so is the group that worships the goddesses in Castle Town. I just try to keep the culture of my people alive. This is going to sting," she said to Gerrard as she applied pressure to one of the burst blisters.
            Midnight, seeing Elwood was as bored as he was, moved over to the Kokiri and woofed at him. Star rolled her eyes as the wolf tried to convince Elwood to play with him. Sephira, however, smiled. She was pleased to see her partner was still cheerful. She, on the other hand, was just empty. She hadn't spent all her emotions like she had hoped, but she had used so much energy and channelled so much emotion that she was just feeling drained. Perhaps later she would be flooded with the emotions again, but when that happened, she would find some place to be alone and let it out privately. Perhaps she'd pull out her ocarina and play it, or maybe she'd just sing. Whatever she did, she would do it when no ears would hear, not even Star's or Midnight's.

              rose was still crying, compleatly broken and worse still, hating herself. I always thought I was a good person the horrible thoughts entered her mind but really, I'm a monster, I've done nothing but bring pain and suffering to those I care about

              axel noticed that the fight was over as he was comforting rose "hey" he said "it's over now, and she looks really bad. she hasn't stopped crying at all" inside he was flaming thought they stop to heal the wounds of an enemy, but they don't stop to help her friend. with friends like that no wonder she is in such pain

                Sephira sighed. She had forgotten about Rose. She bandaged the last few burns, then patted Gerrard's shoulder and moved to her friend. She knelt in front of her and took her cool hands. "Rose, you beautiful strong girl, why are you crying? You are softer than I am. I am as stubborn as the stone, as unmoving as the rock. You, though. You are like the powerful oak tree. You shelter people under your branches, provide safety to the ones in need of it, and you take much to topple. You are a better friend than I ever could be, simply because my stoney exterior makes it difficult for me to help, and my fire causes harm to those who get close to me." She hoped she was doing this right. She hadn't ever been good at the comforting thing. Star and Midnight were much better at it than she was.

                  Gerrard looked at his wounds, they looked much better now that they were wrapped up. He attempted to stand, after a few tries he managed to, although he needed to lean on a tree to accomplish it. When he tried to stand on his own his knee buckled, but after a few attempts he managed to be able to limp along slowly.

                    hearing sephira's words rose's tears slowed, but they didn't stop. she was still sobbing a lot when she spoke "I'm crying because I've lost the one man who I ever loved. I can't help but wonder what will I do now that Elliot is gone. I feel so lost and alone without him, like I've lost a part of myself. but James is right, all I ever do is run away...... I can't deal with pain so I run. thank you for your kind words sephira, but they are far from true"

                      Gerrard happened to overhear what Rose was saying, for a minute he couldn't believe it. He slowly hobbled his way towards them and then said "Elliot is dead? I never heard of this." He involuntarily had small flashbacks of him and Elliot, his friend before Ganondorf had possessed him.

                        Sephira put a hand on Rose's shoulder. "They are true, Rose. I know an oak when I see one." She squeezed gently. "You do run a lot, Rose. I, on the other hand, never run, and I have recieved many scars for it. That is why I am so stoney. You are able to find joy so much easier than I am, simply because you run when I don't. There is nothing wrong with running. The trick is to know when to run and when to stand." She smiled. "Tell you what. I'll teach you how to stand sturdy if you'll teach me how to run."
                        Star moved to Gerrard and gently pushed him. The cheetah felt it would be best if he didn't ask about Elliot until after Sephira had calmed Rose. Then someone would explain exactly what happened, when the Gerudo wasn't there to hear. Star looked at James, wondering how to ask him to tell the man now, while Rose was distracted.

                          rose looked up at sephira smiling "ok Its a deal" she then turned to star, easily seeing what she was doing "star, it's ok, I'm fine. you don't need to push him away." rose got up off her knees, the tears were slowly drying on her face "yes, Elliot is dead, he was killed. there has been a lot going on since you kidnapped me, including me losing my memories. I just wish that Elliot's death wasn't the trigger for getting them back. he would have loved to see me able to remember everything again" a few tears escaped her face, but she was still smiling.

                            James' eyes stung as he heard Gerrard mention Elliot. He had promised himself he wouldn't cry again, but it was hard. He tried to smile. "He fought bravely defending me, but yes, he is gone," he said to Gerrard, trying not to choke. He took a deep breath before speaking again. "You know, it seems you can still walk." He laughed a little, "With trouble, but you can still walk." He turned to Sephira. "So what do you say we get going? We need to hurry if we want to have left before dawn."

                            Elwood grinned as he realized Midnight wanted to play again. He was about to start when he heard that they were now going to leave. He stopped and listened to the rest of James' words. He then turned to the wolf again and smiled apologetically. "Sorry, Mid, but it seems we're about to leave." He thought for a moment then added, "You know, maybe we can even play on the way!" In the back of his mind, he thought he heard whispers of trouble, but he ignored them.

                                hearing ea's cold words, rose's head snapped up "do not dare say it is the same!" she growled at her "don't you dare! it is not as simple as a failed relationship! at least with a failed one you know their is a chance for the one you love to be happy and hold onto their friendship! knowing all that you can move on, however when you see someone die you have no chance of ever keeping the friendship, of ever seeing them again!" rose took a deep breath, her words becoming so cold it almost didn't sound like her "don't act like you know what it's like if you have never been through it, you have no idea what it's like"
