Zulo thought about the options between using swords or knives. He had thought that it might be safer for him to use a sword because since the blade is longer, he would be able to keep a greater distance from the enemy. But that also meant it would be heavier and would slow him down, and he didn't want that. Tyra seemed to be pushing for him to be a knive fighter. "I'll think about it," Zulo said. "I think knives might be better for me though. We'll see." He wondered why it was so important that he learned how to use a close-combat weapon now that he was in a crew. He hadn't seen anyone else with a bow yet and thought there might have been a reason. "Will I get any use out of this?" he asked, showing them his bow. It was light and easy enough to draw back, making it ideal for firing arrows during flight. He wasn't the best shot, but could kill a typical Logata Field enemy with a few arrows.

Corin examined the Rito's wooden weapon. Although he had no experience with them himself, Corin had seen many bows before and knew just what they were. He couldn't think of any other crew members skilled with bows, but figured it would come in handy on a ship. "I'm sure it will be useful," Corin answered the Rito. He realized that if Zulo was able to snipe enemies off their cannons it would be very helpful. "But you'll want a blade handy if someone gets close. It's often the difference between life and death. And if we're all fightin' in a crowd, we don't want you to accidentally land an arrow in one of us. You just can't rely on ranged combat."

"I understand," Zulo replied. By now his plate was empty, but he seemed to be one of the last to finish dinner. It was a good amount of food and he was feeling a bit lazy now that he was filled up. He was looking forward to going to sleep in his quarters, wherever they were.

Tyra nodded. "You'll definitely get some use of your bow, but while we're at sea, it'll be better to use something else. You can very easily lose your shot with the rocking water and the constant motion that comes from the water. You'll go through arrows very quickly and they'll be difficult to replace as long as we're at sea. While we're on land, though, you'll get some use of your bow, I'm sure, if for nothing else than hunting us up some fresh supplies." She stood. Now that the meal was finished, it was time to set out. She stretched her back, then sighed. "Beaver, you did a great job again. I want to go to my quarters and enjoy the feeling of warm food in my belly." Then she shook her head. "But the sea awaits. Come on, crew, let's get this thing under-way!"
She strode to the wheel, calling orders as she went. Hawk, get in the crow's nest. Feather, get up there with her. I want you both to keep an eye out for any reefs that might get in our way when we start off. Sparrow, Wolf, loose the sails. Beaver, cast us off, then get Oak to help you clean the dishes. Let's find ourselves a new world, lads!" She grabbed the wheel and looked out to sea, a grin spreading across her face as she loosed a long howl, as she always did when they set sail. "Going to a new land, White Wolf," she told the ship affectionately. "Our most dangerous voyage yet. But you'll carry us there safely, won't you, girl?"

(And off we go!)

Zaria echoed her captain's howl and grinned. Taking off from the dock was her favorite part of being a crew mate on the White Wolf. "C'mon, boy!" she stepped back from the table and pushed down hard with her powerful wings, lifting herself up to the crow's nest. She withheld the rope ladder for those not blessed by the powers that be with wings, she needed to see how well he flew. "C'mon boy, Tyra wants me to show you how to do this! But don't think you're getting off easy because you're belly's full and you're a new member!"

((Howls loudly!))

(Sorry I haven't posted for so long, I haven't had internet for almost a week)

Zulo was quite surprised when Zaria took off for what was called the crow's nest. He hadn't expected the Sea Queen launch so soon, and he was ready for bed. Not wanting to look useless to Zaria, Zulo took a few steps and flapped his wings to land in the crows nest. He had never flown with so much extra weight, but as it was a quick ascent, he had no problems with reaching Zaria. Once he was standing again, Zulo took a quick look at the world below. He could see a lot more from up here, and could see miles into the calm ocean. "What a view," he said, pleasantly gazing down Logata's coast.

Corin followed his sister's orders to loosen the sails, but first ran along the side of the ship to untie any ropes connected to the dock. After he was sure the ship was free, he zipped from mast to mast, dropping the sails enough for the White Wolf to leave port at the right speed. A familiar feeling returned to Corin as he let the sails fly. It was the feeling of excitement he loved, the feeling when a new adventure had officially begun. And this would surely be one he would tell stories about next time he was sitting on the docks. He loved knowing that they were on the path towards a great discovery but not knowing what that was yet. Whatever they would find, he had a heart feeling that they were on the right path, and it felt like he had been waiting to do this since he was born. It wan't even too important to him if they actually found this mysterious land. Corin was just happy to be embarking on a new journey. Soon, the docks had been left behind and the White Wolf began traveling it's long and winding, nautical road to unknown adventures and encounters.

Zaria watched him, and he seemed to do well considering they'd just had dinner. On more than one occasion, they'd had an attack during a meal and everyone had to spring into action, despite being full of fresh food. She still didn't bother to throw down the rope, but instead pulled the map from the hollow mast that held the crow's nest. It was deep enough to hold a rolled map, and sometimes you could squeeze two in together. She plucked the newly stolen map they'd stowed there, and unrolled it, smoothing it on the rim of the crow's nest. "This is where we're headed, and this is the sea we're going to get there through." Zaria gestured to the land mass marked "HYRULE" and the faded blue that marked the sea they'd be crossing. "You know how to read a compass, don't you Boy?"

((i'm laughing bc we have rito in the crow's nest)) ((we're punny))

Zulo stared at the map Zaria pulled from inside the mast. He was amazed by how much blue there was, how much ocean they had to cross. "That's a lot of water," he mumbled. He prayed he wouldn't get seasick once they were away from land, because they would be on the ocean for a long time. Then Zaria asked if he knew how to use a compass. "A compass?" He thought a bit about it. He knew what a compass was, but couldn't say he ever had to use one. He had seen them before, and remembered them as being fairly simple to use. "I've never really had to use one, but I'm sure I could figure it out."

Zaria sighed and pinned the map to the wall of the crow's nest with her hip so she could give Zulo a mini-lesson on compasses. "Alright Boy, the red part always points north. You're gonna want to hold your map so that north on the paper matches up. Always go up the map." she flicked the glass a couple times and the needle twitched. "Capin', we'll be traveling through the Sea of Expanse into the West Ocean. Head for the Great Bay!" she lowered her voice before talking to Zulo again. "We're to keep the boat on track, Boy."

(( at least I believe that's the right water bodies))

Dean threw up over the side of the raft as he followed the ship. This was definitley a bad idea... Bob would be laughing by that time, but he, too, was having some problems. After their initial... ah, conquest by the sea, Dean sat down and put his head between his knees. Stupid idea.

Alwin looked around at the flurry of activity aboard the ship. Not one for responsibility, he was glad to be a stowaway, yet knew that he'd have to get back to Dean soon enough. Tonight maybe? Yes, tonight.

Zulo watched as Zaria showed him how to use the compass and the map. It was really simple, and he didn't have to ask any questions. "Got it," he replied after her little explanation. The only thing Zulo wondered about was why it would take two people to do this. There must have been different jobs they would be working at the same time to help with navigation. "So, we'll take turns doing this?" he assumed.

She nodded, glad this wasn't going to turn into a lesson on rocket science. "Until you're familiar with it, we'll both be up here. Then if I'm busy and Tyra needs direction, you'll be the one up here. There's also a lookin' glass if we're on the run or close to land. Wait here." She left the boy in the crow's nest for a minute, gently flapping her wings so she wouldn't crash into the deck. Below deck, she ducked into the first cabin, a room where most everything from non-perishables to extra crates were held. On the far wall, there were a couple of crates attached to the boards, for more delicate items like glass things. She dug through them until she found a small telescope, one she kept in here so it wouldn't become waterlogged or scratched, and hurried back to the crow's nest. "There's usually ships about outskirts of the island, comin' and goin' y'know." Zaria pressed the telescope to her eye and slowly looked about the open water.
All but one ship passed by her gaze. One of Rhykim's scouts was coming towards the docks, and they were still awfully close. "Uh, Cap'n! Rhykim's boats is close by!" she shouted towards deck.
