Luther paused, unsure of what to think. According to these people, he was a long way from Hyrule. He thought about this fact for a while, then remembered his father had mentioned a nation bordering Hyrule called Termina. Luther always thought the desert connected directly to Termina, but he guessed he was wrong.

"Ah, this must be Termina, then." Luther said, nodding his head. "And that body of water...that must be the Great Sea. We're in the west part of Termina, huh? Then my question would be, where are you from? And how do you know about Hyrule?"

Gerrard frowned slightly as Shane talked, there was something about him that unnerved him. Always had, he didn't feel comfortable around the man, no matter if he had gotten them a ship to get away from Termina Away from Hyrule. Away from his old life.

"I've never felt right around him," he said with a shrug. "Just the way he looks, the way he talks. About you, about me, about anyone. He just creeps me out." He shrugged, looking towards Jacky. "Or perhaps I am just being judgemental. Although his seeming knowledge of our previous lives is a bit weird."

James frowned at Luther. "Well...I think you're thinking of the wrong side of the Great Bay. We left Termina on that ship over there a while ago. We crossed the sea until we found this place," he motioned around him with his hands. "This is...some other place."

"Logata, I think it's called that way," jumped in Daniel, who had now reached the group. James looked at the newcomers, tilting his head to consider them. They too appeared to be Hylian, clothing and all. He wondered where they'd come from.

"Um, if you really are this lost maybe a good place to start is, what's the last thing you remember?"

Luther chuckled. "Heh, you'll likely take me for a mad man, if you haven't already."

Luther looked out onto the sea, taking a moment to think about the new information. Logata, many leagues away from Gerudo Desert...you clever *******.

Luther's gaze returned to the group, and began to tell them his story.

"The last thing I remember, yes? Well...I was traveling with a group of people I had recently encountered, and we were on our way to Termina. Since we were taking the desert route, we figured we would stop by the Gerudo Fortress for some supplies. Long tale short, we stumbled into a conflict with the Gerudo...and then something strange happened. A man in strange clothing appeared, and put himself between us and the enemy. He summoned a black trident out of nowhere, and fired lighting at the people we had fighting. Then he rose six skeletons from the ground, and sent them to attack the rest of the enemy force. I would've continued fighting, but the man's presence distracted me. It was like...he was there, but at the same time, he wasn't. Part of it felt...wrong. I...I felt compelled to draw my sword, so I did. But before I could attack him, he turned around swiftly, and put his hand on my face. When I regained consciousness, I was in an alley not too far from here. Shortly after, I came up to you, and asked you where I was."

Sephira listened in surprise to the man's tale. She didn't remember seeing anyone like that while they had been in the desert, although she remembered seeing a Stalfos after crossing the border. Then again, that had been weeks ago. Who knows what had happened between then and now? But that didn't answer the question about Briana and Daniel. They hadn't been with this man when she'd seen them in Termina, and he didn't mention them at all. "What about you two?" she asked. "How did you get from Termina to here?"

Briana looked over at Daniel. "I suppose that's more for you to answer," she commented. "After all, you're why we're here." She wasn't sure if he wanted to explain about his map or keep it a secret. Either way, she'd back his story, regardless if it was the truth or something he made up to keep the secret.

James raised an eyebrow at Sephira's comment. "They were in Termina?" he asked, now even more confused about what could've happened. He turned to look at them once again, then at the guy, waiting for him to answer.

Daniel bit his lip and eyed Briana, hoping she wouldn't reveal the details about the map. He didn't usually tell people about it, as he worried it would cause people trying to steal it. However, he didn't like outright lying either. "Well, it's some kind of magic I think. It's been happening to me for a while now. I just tend to...change locations. It was just accident that Bri here came along for the ride this time." He shrugged, hoping the explanation was enough for them. He unconsciously placed his hand on the pack where he kept the map.

James was about to ask another question, but just then a voice behind him made him stop. "I know everyone's only getting to know each other, and oh how I hate to interrupt such interesting discussions. However, I couldn't help but overhear and I am starting to feel the conversation is only going to keep extending. So, James, Sephira, I thought it'd be rude of me to head off without a proper farewell." He stepped in front of them, smiling smugly. "Thank you for the lovely trip, it was of the utmost exciting to me." He thought on it for a moment, before adding. "But don't worry, I have a feeling you haven't seen the last of me just yet." He nodded at the pair, then turned to Briana, Daniel, and Luther. He eyed the three, then his eyes went to Daniel's hand which was covering the hidden map. He squinted, then smiled again, only to perform a little bow in front of Daniel. With that, he turned and walked off. Both Daniel and James stared after him, frowning.

James shook his head. "I still can't figure him out," he sighed, then turned back to the group.

A little off in the distance, Shane stopped by the little Kokiri boy who had been running around with the wolf. He looked down at him, and Elwood immediately stood up straight, feeling eerily nervous. "Don't forget what we discussed now, El." Elwood shook his head rapidly.
              "I promise, I won't."
"Good lad." The Kokiri then watched the man walk away, but was then distracted by Midnight pushing at his hand to get him to pet him. When he looked again, Shane wasn't within sight.

Sephira waved a hand at James, indicating she'd explain later about meeting them. She might also explain about everything else that happened while she was with Maxwell, but she didn't think it likely. She was more concerned with Daniel's explanation, which she found rather unusual. Granted, she was used to unusual things, hence why she accepted Luther's explanation about a strange man sending him here. However, magic that acted on someone without his permission, that didn't even act solely on him, was a little harder for her accept. On the other hand, it explained why he and Briana were here, and how he'd appeared twice before.
She was about to comment when Shane spoke up, causing her to flinch as she hadn't heard him approach. He bade them farewell but assured them that they'd likely be seeing him again. She snorted as he walked off. "I think it would be impossible for anyone to get a read on that man," she said in reply to James' comment.

Briana couldn't help a shiver as the man that approached them studied Daniel, Luther, and herself. She noticed his gaze lingered some on Daniel, which really unnerved her. She recognized that her companion didn't want to reveal his map, so she feared that this other man suspected its existence, considering the glance he cast at the pack. "Who is he?" she asked as she watched him walk off, pausing for a moment to speak with the boy.

"Just the person who gave us a lift," Sephira answered, frowning after Shane. "Beyond that, we don't know, and frankly, I don't care to. He gets under my skin."

Luther caught Sephira's wave at James, and frowned. Was she hiding something from him? They had been holding hands, so he had assumed they were in a relationship. Was there something she knew that he didn't?
Luther had been taught at a young age that you should never withhold information from your lover, because it displayed a lack of trust. Granted, it could be that they hadn't been together for long, or that this person hadn't been relevant until now, but Luther had the feeling that wasn't the only thing Sephira was hiding from James.
Luther was about to question Daniel when Shane began to speak. Strangely enough, like the man in the desert, this man also made Luther uncomfortable. And this time, it was worse. If he didn't know better, Luther would say it felt like the man lacked a soul.
When his eyes made contact with Shane's, Luther felt pain as if he had just been stabbed in the chest. However, Luther knew there was no wound in his chest. Luther kept a poker face, as to not tip anybody off that something was wrong, but he felt like keeling over.
"There is something very, very wrong with that man. It was almost as if a dead man walked among us." Luther said, watching Shane walk away until he was out of eyesight.

"I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was something dead about him," James commented, turning his eyes back to the group after Shane had moved out of sight. "But I rather we never have to find out." Daniel looked at him quizzically, wondering about his comment. Shane's eyes on him had disturbed him, but he knew dwelling on the thought would only worsen the feeling. Sighing, he looked at Sephira.
"So, he gave you a lift? Were you in such a hurry as to get out of Termina that you would set sail with a stranger?" he asked, then added, "I'm not judging you or anything, it just surprises me. You didn't look like you wanted to leave anytime soon when we saw you with that other man." James raised an eyebrow, still wondering about how the pair seemed to have met Sephira in Termina, but guessed Daniel was probably referring to Maxwell and shrugged the thought away.

Elwood sat down on the soft, warm sand, resting after his latest game with Midnight. He looked up at the sky, wondering how different this new world could really be from Hyrule or even Termina. The entire journey felt so rushed that it was hard for him to remember everything that had happened so far. He just knew he was having fun now, and that's what truly mattered. "Although now I do have a job to do," he muttered, talking to himself.

Sephira winced at Luther's comment, wishing he hadn't commented on the chance of Shane really be someone who belonged in the netherworld. While she mistrusted him, she could pass that off as his snake-like mannerism. Being an escaped spirit of the ether did not make it easy for her to deal with him. Still, she managed to shrug off her unease enough to reply to Daniel. "Maxwell and I were only in temporary company, a small pause during our voyage. We are travelling under... special circumstances, that require us to find a safe haven soon." She glanced down the beach towards where Elwood was playing.

Briana frowned as she caught the glance. What was so special about that kid? She had to agree with Daniel, the woman hadn't seemed to be in a rush when they'd met in the library. Yet she seemed to be saying that they were attempting to get somewhere quickly before then even, so it wasn't as if something had happened while with Maxwell. Briana rubbed the side of her head. He seemed to her this woman had a very confusing lifestyle.

Midnight turned as he saw Elwood was no longer chasing him and trotted back up the beach. He collapsed on the sand next to the boy and began panting heavily, already worn from the fun. Once Elwood was ready to play again, though, the wolf would be up and running again regardless how long he was able to rest. He turned and looked at the boy with one amber eye. "Job?" he repeated, forgetting that Elwood couldn't understand him. "What job?"

As Shane walked away, Luther's sixth sense began to take notice of the people around him. The people he had encountered first, were normal for the most part. Luther thought he sensed something strange in both of them, but it wasn't very significant.

The other people around Luther were more interesting. The boy holding hands with the blonde seemed to have some secrets, but it wasn't too bad. He had blood on his hands, but it was justified. Luther could tell that Nayru smiled upon this one, and it was likely he was a trustworthy person.

The girl, however, was a different story. She had a lot of blood on her hands, most of it unjust. Luther could feel the pure anger inside of her, and a remnant of the desire for revenge. Frankly, her presence felt disgusting. Luther found it hard to believe that a just looking person was guilty of such horrible crimes.

"May Nayru have mercy on you." Luther muttered, glaring at Sephira.

James and Daniel both looked down the beach towards Elwood when Sephira did. The former wondered if they were far enough from the reach of the creature Melody had warned them against. Daniel wondered how such a small Kokiri seemed to be the thing Sephira was referring to, the thing that need so much protection that they had to flee from the continent to find it.
"I just hope we're close to finding that safe haven," James commented, praying in his heart for it to be true. "This trip has already made me weary, and who knows what still lies in wait."

Elwood looked at Midnight and smiled. "But it matters not," he laughed, petting the wolf, completely oblivious to the wolf having asked anything. He normally could understand the feelings animals had by their body language, and he could see Midnight's eyes were questioning, but he chose to ignore it. He didn't like to think about this job. It wasn't hard or anything, but the idea of it being for someone so big and seemingly important as Shane, that was scary. He didn't like to think about it at all.

Daniel frowned at Luther. He had heard him mutter what seemed like a prayer, but the glare he was giving Sephira seemed entirely out of place. He didn't know whether to ask about it or not.

Sephira sighed. She hoped they were near the end of their journey as well, but she feared that even if they found somewhere Elwood would be safe from Krea, she would be unable to rest. After wandering for four years with only brief rests, she doubted she'd be able to stop moving anymore than a Goron would stop rolling once reaching the bottom of a long hill. Still, she hoped they'd be able to rest long enough for her and James to decide where to go from here.
She frowned as she noticed the stranger began glaring at her. She didn't know why he was, but her experience with animals had taught her not to ignore the challenge issued. While she doubted he'd know he was issuing such a challenge, she returned his glare.

Briana frowned at the two glaring at each other and wondered why. Deciding it might be better to change the subject, she said, "I hope that you find it. In the meantime, would you mind if we accompanied you?" She smiled at the young man and bobbed a curtsy. "My name's Briana and this is Daniel."

Luther was a bit surprised when Sephira returned his glare, but he didn't stop glaring at her.
Does she know why I glare at her? Luther asked himself. Perhaps after you've taken a few lives, it's hard to trust people. I will watch you, sinner.
Luther lost his glare and looked to the other girl when she started speaking. There was wisdom in her words. It would likely be in Luther's best interest to go with this group, despite the miscreant among them.
"It would be convenient if I could come along as well." Luther said. "My name is Luther."
Without warning, the principled Luther lost control to the corrupt Luther, who grinned.
"And I would really prefer that we don't keep our sins against Nayru a secret, alright?"

James smiled at Briana and nodded at Daniel. They seemed innocent enough not to prove a danger to their group. Of course, he found the guy's story about how they'd gotten to this place unusually strange, but he knew they weren't the members of their group weren't the most clean of people either. When Luther spoke, however, something unsettled him. His grin, accompanied by his last comment, felt out of place, and he couldn't help but feel that it was meant in a hostile manner. Still, he smiled and bowed his head at the three.
"I am James, and I do believe you have already met Sephira," he commented, directed towards Briana and Daniel. Daniel smiled back and laughed inwardly.
"Yes I do believe we have," he answered, in his mind adding the more than once he didn't say out loud. He began wondering if this was the group he was supposed to meet. After all, there had to be a reason the map had taken them to this exact place at this moment.
