After what Chandra said, Elgin had no idea how to comfort her. He just simply followed her to the stables. He looked around the stables to check if anyone was there, but as soon as his eyes found the spot where Taurean stood before leaving, Elgin's life flashed before his eyes.

The first memories were about Taurean. At the beginning, Taurean was a kind older brother, carrying Elgin everywhere. But as time progressed, Taurean started to hate Elgin and beat him where nobody could seem them. Then Marcus was born, and Elgin protected him from Taurean, who hated Marcus since the day he was born.
Then the day when Taurean was exiled came. Elgin remembered the day as if it was yesterday, which terrified him. Elgin, Taurean, and their dad finally reached the top of Smokehead. They all looked down at the lava inside the volcano, each of them having a different reaction.
Then the moment came. Smoke suddenly surrounded the trio and Elgin couldn't see anything. Elgin remember his father's last words before burning in Smokehead. Why, my son? Why?!
The smoke cleared and Taurean stood where his father had been, and he was also looking at the lava. T-t-aurean! D-d-id you just push Dad into the lava?
So what if I did, punk? No one will ever kn- By that time, Elgin had already started going back down, scared that Taurean would push him into the lava. Elgin saw the dreaded moments of him telling his mom the bad news, Taurean's battle with Joseph, the Goron outcast, then watching Taurean walk away from Ironlynne.
Then it skipped to events that had happened the year after Taurean left. Elgin bringing Marcus to the top of Smokehead, Elgin begging the elders to let him go explore Logata, Elgin leaving Smokehead, Elgin meeting Wyman, Elgin meeting Shak, Elgin and Shak meeting the Gerudo Twins, the Southmarble Edge, and going back to Logata City all flashed before Elgin's eyes faster than all the other memories.

"Ugh!" Elgin yelped. Seeing his life flash before his eyes was something that he considered horrible, but it happened often.

Chandra grimanced as she walked into the stable. The place was a mess. Several railings were smashed, stall latches were broken, and the bedding was all over the place. Chandra glanced outside at Ignatius, then picked up a rake and got to work on the scattered bedding. She worked on getting it all into a pile out of the way, then she'd find some way to dispose of the dirty bedding and put down fresh bedding. She had only just started when she noticed Elgin wasn't helping her, even though she was certain she saw him follow her out. She peeked her head out and looked for him. She quickly found him rubbing his head. "Are you okay?" she called.

'"Yeah, I'm fine. My life just flashed before my eyes. It happens often for me." Elgin told Chandra. "I'm fine now, though." Elgin walked over to her and saw the damage the stables had taken. "Whoever came here sure didn't like stables." Elgin said half jokingly, still rubbing his head.

Chandra was concerned, but she hid it with a smile. "You could say that again. Thankfully, there's only the one stable. If there were multiple, like I hear most royalty have, we would be here a couple days. At least." She handed Elgin another rake and resumed moving the bedding to the side.

Elgin stopped rubbing his head, took the rake, and started helping out. I wonder what the others are doing.... Elgin thought as he continued to work with the rake. "Ya know, there sure are quite a few items that could easily be used as a weapon around this area." Elgin said to himself quietly.

*time lapse: that evening*

Chandra rubbed her shoulder. It was quite a bit of work, but they had finally finished. All the dirty bedding was gathered up and new bedding was put in the stalls. New latches were jerry-rigged, and the few horses remaining were put in stalls. Chandra smiled tiredly. They had done a lot of work here, and it paid off. The place looked much better than it did before. She turned to Elgin. "Shall we go get dinner? And I have to warn you, I'm so tired I might fall asleep on my feet."

"Thanks for letting me know that. I wouldn't want to find out later and not know what was happening." Elgin said, dropping his rake. "And to answer your question, yes, food does sound very good right now, so we should go get dinner." Elgin started to walk away but remembered that Chandra was very tired. "Do you need any help getting back to the castle?" Elgin asked.

Chandra smiled at Elgin and started to head to the castle as well. She was much slower than him, and was swaying so much she almost fell down a couple times. When he offered to help, she smiled defeatedly. "Yes, I will. Otherwise, I might end up in the town and not know how I got there."

"I would've helped either way, to be honest." Elgin said as he walked over to Chandra and picked her up. After a few minutes of walking, they were inside the castle. "Umm, where should I set you down?" Elgin asked.

Chandra protested a little as he picked her up, but without much effort. She knew it would be much easier than anything else he could do to help. She snuggled into him, smiling as she breathed in his fiery scent. She almost didn't hear his question. "Oh, anywhere will do. I don't care, as long as its a bed." She nodded off before he went more than a few steps after that.

"Alrighty then." Elgin said, going into the hallway where the ambassador rooms were located. He walked to the Goron ambassador room and placed Chandra on the second bed that was there. "What do I do now?" Elgin asked himself quietly. He walked out of the room and went to the balcony. He looked over all of Logata City, admiring its beauty. "I should go back to the top of Smokehead someday..." Elgin said, remembering all the good times he had at Ironlynne.

Chandra rolled over in her sleep and fell off the bed. She cursed as she woke up fully. She rubbed her side and looked around. She was in the room she had taken Elgin for his sleep. She blushed as she realized she must have dozed off. Standing, she looked around for him. She quickly found him on the balcony. She stood next to him and looked out. It was a beautiful night, cool and peaceful. She breathed in the fresh night air. "What's on your mind?" she asked softly.

Elgin heard a voice and looked to the side to see Chandra. He wasn't that surprised that she had come. "I was just remembering the good times I had back at Ironlynne...like the time I took my younger brother Marcus up Smokehead. That was also the first time that I had looked at the rest of Logata. The view up there was so breathtaking....it is one of those things I'll never forget." Elgin told Chandra. "The view up here is a little bit like the view on Smokehead, but on Smokehead, you can see all of Logata."

Chandra leaned against Elgin. "It sounds wonderful," she breathed. "Would you show it to me sometime?" She hoped he'd say yes. Gorons were testy individuals, and she didn't feel comfortable going to the top Smokehead without an escort of some sort.

"Of course I will show it to you. To be honest, I thought you wouldn't ask." Elgin told Chandra "My dad told me that most people he asked didn't want to go because they thought that going up Smokehead to see all of Logata wasn't worth it. Of course, most the people my father met were very rude to him." Elgin sighed. Marcus was right. I will never get over the fact that Dad is dead. "How do you think the others are doing?" Elgin asked Chandra.

Chandra smiled. "Those other people must have been pampered city folk. I'm of the desert. I can stand climbing up that mountain of yours." She snuggled up against him. "And I think they're just fine. With my sister, they have to be. She'll keep all of them safe. As for whether they'll find the king or not, I don't know. Kidnappers are fickle folk. I'm certain that he's fine, but for how long..." she trailed off.

Elgin slightly smiled, but he changed it to a slight frown. "That is what I'm worried about. If the king is dead, then Shak will be king, and I'll have a bigger responsiblity." Elgin closed his eyes. "And if Shak gets attacked or killed while they are searching for the king, I'll never forgive myself for staying behind and not being there to protect him." Elgin reopened his eyes and looked at Logata City and thought about his future. Will I be ready when the time comes?

Chandra patted his shoulder. "Eos will keep him alive. She likes him to much to let him die. Even if it turns out the king is dead, Eos will make sure Shak gets here safely. No matter the cost." Chandra sighed, because she knew this would be true. Even if that cost was her own life, Chandra was certain Eos would pay it gladly.

Elgin yawned. He was getting very sleepy. "Okay, I'm getting sleepy. I should start heading back before I fall asleep here." Elgin said, his eyes fighting to stay open.

"Okay." Chandra said. Then she yawned herself. Her nap had helped her recover some of her energy, but not enough of it. She laughed a little. "Sounds like a good idea to me." She followed him inside and laid down on the first bed she came to. She was asleep in seconds.

Time lapse : The next morning

Elgin woke up, not sure where he was at first. When his vision cleared, he saw that he was in the hallway of ambassador rooms. Now he remembered what happened last night ; he had tried to make it to the Goron ambassador room, but he fell asleep before he could make it. Elgin got up and looked around. He had forgetten where Chandra had fallen asleep. This castle can't be too big... Elgin told himself as he looked around.

Chandra woke up slowly. The bed she was lying in was really comfortable and she did not want to leave. Then her stomach growled. She sighed and got up. She stretched, then left the room. It was only after she walked out that she realized it was not the ambassador's room. She shrugged, then went looking for Elgin. She found him rather quickly, looking seemingly frantically for something. She sidled up to him. "What are you doing?" she asked.

Elgin slightly jumped and saw that the voice came from Chandra. "I was just looking for you because I had no idea where you fell asleep and I was worried that something bad had happened to you." Elgin told Chandra. Was being honest just now really the right thing?
