The bodies of the executed soldiers lied motionless on the ground in the courtyard. Rhykim felt somewhat sorry on the inside that he had to kill more men than was necessary, but he soon dispelled the thoughts with the fact he gave them the choice, and they didn't take it. He turned to the soldiers who stood there. He ordered for an immediate Castle cleanup and assigned some teams to begin repairs on the castle. He walked back inside, now, with nothing else to tend to, began to explore the Castle. He wanted to know where his sudden source of power was coming from.

Alwin retook a deep breath, "Alwin," he said, "And I have something to tell you. I was once a normal Zora, but ran away tom home early on. That was when I met grave... grave and I spent many years together... heck ill make it short. I joined rhykim once to join the women I loved, and now I haven't heard from her in weeks since hue left me at a random outpost and took her as a special weapon. I need to find her, and if rhykim has to die for it so be it," he sighed, drained.

Nyx followed Rhykim. "What is it you are looking for, Master? Perhaps I can help you?" She didn't have anything better to do. The only other thing on Nyx's mind was how Ranger faired in battle, but she knew he was okay. If he had been killed or badly wounded, she would have received word by now. Nyx made a mental note to go and see him when she was finished here.

"To be honest," Rhykim started now talking to Nyx, "I don't know. Anything. That can explain where this power is coming from. I'm going to start in the dungeons," Rhykim said now leading the way to the furthest depths of the dungeons. He stumbled upon the Imperial Prison which Rhykim knew was there. He didn't know why he wanted to start in the dungeons, but this power was leading him that way. He walked pass the cells and noticed that at the end, one cell was empty. Assuming that the pattern for storing prisoners would have filled this cell up by now, and judging from the dank and gray of the cell, it hadn't been used for quite some time. He entered the cell and the feeling inside him grew even more. Whatever was giving him his power had to involve the cell. He started to overturn the small space to find an item.

Nyx felt puzzled as she followed Rhykim into the cell. She did notice it felt different in there though. Putting a hand on the pommel of her sword, she kept searching the shadows for danger.

Rhykim now looked at the wall. It was the only and last place that needed to be checked. He placed both hands on the wall and started moving them in all directions. It wasn't until he found what he was looking for, a button. A button in the same shape and color as the rock wall, so it blended right in. As Rhykim pressed it, a door of the rock wall opened. There was a long hallway downwards and Rhykim took a step in. A chain of torches lit up by themselves all the way down, as if by magic. Rhykim stepped forward and began descending the apparent, "eternal staircase".

Eyes wide with shock, Nyx followed her Master onto the staircase. Her hand tightened around her sword as she felt her apprehension grow. "Master, do you know where this leads?" she asked. Nyx had never heard of something like this being in the castle. Wouldn't it have been funny if one of the prisoners would have found that button and stumbled in here? she thought. That made her smile just a little and, very slightly, eased her apprehension.

"No," Rhykim replied sternly. "In all my years, I never knew this existed. I'm not even sure the Prince's Father knew when I was a kid." Rhykim continued until he touched solid floor at the bottom. The torches had stopped lighting the path several yards back, leaving this room pitch black. He spawned a fireball and threw it ahead of him. Is instincts kicking in, it lit another series of torches which illuminated the room to reveal a giant pool of black. Rhykim was taken aback by the discovery.

The hair on the back of Nyx's neck stood on end and jolts of white electricity jumped between her fingers when she saw the pool of inky black water. "Master, I have no idea what this is. If it's not safe... Well, you could lose the throne you only just acquired."

"I'm well aware of the risk. I don't plan on losing the throne any time soon." Suddenly, Rhykim's body started to freeze. For whatever reason, he was completely paralyzed. A force had lifted him up from the ground and he was now suspended over the black pool. A loud, mysterious, female voice boomed throughout the room. "So another lifeform has found my nexus and wishes to acquire more of its power. You're not a terrible specimen. And you have potential. I can feel the power you already inherit. It's tremendous among those in your world. It's to my understanding you are now the rightful owner of the Castle? Very well, then I shall give you a gift. Something special from me, to you, as a sort of... prize, if you will," the mysterious voice concluded.

Xeonph rolled his eyes when Rhykim blatantly ignored him.

Power will do that to people. Should've figured. Ah well, seeing as it's pretty peaceful now, I might as well search around.

Xeonph went out the the courtyard, only to be greeted by several dead bodies. Xeonph rolled his eyes again.

Again, evidence of the new power. I'm surprised I'm not the only one civilized enough to NOT slaughter the enemy after a surrender.

He wondered briefly about his brother. If he recalled correctly, his most disliked brother had come to the castle to enroll in the army. Xeonph hoped desperately that he was not among the dead.

I'd hate to get someone to do my work for me.
So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

The green mist enclosed around Rhykim and poured through him rather painfully. Any common person would die from the sheer force and strength of the magic, but due to Rhykim's strength, he was holding on. He screamed in agony for several minutes until the green mist released him by throwing him to the ground. "Now, Rhykim Verass, you serve me. So long as that 'gift' is inside you, you are my subject and I'm your Master. Am I understood?" the voice now said in a harsher tone. Rhykim who felt wounded and winded turned slowly to face the pool of black liquid. He then kneeled to the pond and returned with "Yes, Master."

"Good, now I have your first mission for you. As you may or may not know, Logata is not the only place on the planet. There's a whole continent waiting for you to conquer," the voice said only being interrupted by Rhykim asking a question.
"I'm to conquer a whole continent I've never seen or heard of?"
The voice replied by using the magic inside to cause more pain, as if he was being tortured by a voodoo doll.
"Your first lesson is to listen. In the other lands are more of these black pools. My people call one of them a nexus. These nexuses have one in three of the four lands. They, like yours, are buried and hidden in their respective castles. You are to defeat and vanquish the guardians of each nexus. Afterwards, I will be able to tap into that nexus' power and absorb it. Do you understand?" the voice said still harsh, but some irritation could still be heard.
"Yes, Master," Rhykim said now about to walk away and get started.
"Oh and Rhykim Verass, this won't be an easy task. The continent will have a shakey future ahead of it. Soon they'll have their own wars to deal with. They will not be trusting of a leader of diplomacy. Keep this in mind. And take this," the voice said now conjuring a scroll of large parchment. "It's a map of the whole continent with Logata marked on it as well. Use that as your battle strategies."
After several moments of silence, Rhykim felt is was safe to talk. "And how will I determine which of these countries have a Castle?"
"No more answers for you, Rhykim Verass. You must figure that out yourself. No leave, before I administer more pain," and the torches went out, immediately returning the room to it's original darkness.
"Let's go," Rhykim said to Nyx, leading the way back up the stairs.

Destinie bit her lip. "I'll help you find her if you'll accept my help... but, hasn't there been enough death already? Can't you try to find her without more bloodshed?"

Destinie sighed in relief. "Thank you." She looked around. "We need to get out of here before they notice us. Do you think you can walk if you lean on me?"
