Amaya nodded. "We should still try and get Silvervale to our side. They would make a good ally." She glanced down at the map, curious. After all, she hadn't seen it yet. Her eyes widened. "These countries are large, especially this one." She pointed to a mass labelled 'Hyrule'. "We'll be hard-pressed to conquer them." She glanced at Nyx. "Should we even bother conquering them?" she asked, soundly completely unlike herself. "It would be a losing battle, especially after this expedition. Perhaps we should try extending an olive branch first...?"

Rhykim was surprised by Amaya's thinking. "Amaya, I understand your concerns. Taking these countries will take a lot of lives. However, according to Nexus, the whole continent is, or will be, engaged in war. The most we could do for diplomacy is to extend aid in their struggles. The trick is, we need to know who's fighting whom and which ones, should we wish to aid, do we side with?" Rhykim stared at the map and Hyrule, in particular. "I think it's safe to assume that Hyrule has a castle. And as it's so large, it could be attacked on all fronts. But for now, we need to focus on this insurrection that's happening here. Silvervale would make a great ally. Their expertise and superior equestrian breeding would help us combat the Gerudo's cavalry. I'll send a group of soldiers to go extend an offer to Silvervale."sigpic

Amaya rolled her eyes. "Of course," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "you're going to listen to that puddle." She started churning the water in her skin without opening it. "Why don't we just leave that place alone? Why lose lives when we can keep our isolation? There's no point to letting them know where here, especially since we're so small compared to them. They could take us easily. And how do we even know if they're human? They could be beasts like those stupid Dracos. And even if they are human, they might not speak our language. Heck, they might not even have our technology. Why should we bother with them?" This was more like her. Amaya wasn't one to let something go for any reason. And she was set completely against the Nexus. We can have unlimited resources and rule the world! And when we do succeed, you and Nyx can govern half of the mainland! You'll be rulers yourself!"sigpic

Amaya made a face. "Rhykim, you know I don't do the whole power-dealio. As for riches, we can get that just as easily coming on peaceful terms." She fiddled with the end of her braid. "Seriously, why does everyone want to rule the world? The stress that would involve, ugh. Even a cruel ruler would have a hard time keeping up with everything, and a wise ruler wouldn't trust another person to do it, otherwise he'd be overthrown." Endin stepped into the throne room and stood by the doorway, watching Rhykim's and one of his generals argue about something military, an invasion on another continent, and something to do with a puddle. He waited until the General finished speaking, then stepped near then and bowed.
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to be here since the invasion, my lord. A soldier wounded my leg and I had to retreat. What is the Nexus, and what do you mean mainland?"
He spotted the map and stared at it, openly shocked.
'That's huge! How don't we know about it? And Rhykim wants to rule it?"Comment

"Accidents happen, Commander. Try to avoid them next time," Rhykim said in the best possible neutral tone. He knew that accidents do happen, and sometimes are unavoidable, but at the same time, Endin should be more aware. "As for Nexus, the long story short is that it's a powerful lifeform unlike any other I've seen and it's powerful. It has ambitions to conquer the rest of the world, which, despite Amaya's protests, I agree with. Right now, however, we have a domestic issue that needs to be resolved before we can work on the rest of the world," Rhykim briefly explained, skipping over the fact that Nexus was able to control Rhykim at any point it wished and could also easily kill him.sigpic

"Understood, sir. What are my orders? Anything concerning the local threat?"
He'd heard rumors about the Gerudo rising up, and with some underhand help, they might end this war before it started.

Amaya muttered under her breath again. She still didn't trust the soldier. After all, someone who would betray once could betray again. She moved to the map and pushed it off the table. She was tempted to destroy it with her water too, but figured that would be going too far. So instead, she just spread a map of Logata on the table instead. "Now that that's out of the way, let's focus on what's really important," she said, completely ignoring the fact that she was the one who wasn't wanting to drop it. Amaya frowned. "Rhykim, forced allies are as bad as slaves. They could turn on us as easily as he could." She gestured at the former Royal Army guy. "Probably easier, since they will actually have a reason to turn on us. Is something wrong with you? Normally I wouldn't have to point this out to you, you'd say it yourself. *Laora and Rylin arrive from Visit to the Market*
Laora and Rylin slowed and hovered over the courtyard. Below, Xeonph inspected his sword and looked up. Laora smiled. This was his end. "Xeonph! You need to pay for what you've done! We both have a score to settle, and I doubt you could take us both!" With that, they dove towards him. Xeonph quickly flicked his knife into his hand, and whipped it towards Rylin.
Laora was surprised as he heard the stifled yell he had come to associate with death. He turned to see his brief partner plummeting with the hilt of a knife protruding from his chest. He slammed into the ground, his neck snapping and his armored body slamming into the ground with a loud clang. He was dead when he hit the ground. Laora landed, skidded, and shrugged his shield onto his arm and drew his sword. "I would've thought you'd take a more direct approach!" Xeonph chuckled, drawing his sword and holding it in both hands. "Well? I was never one to be fair."
Rylin has perished in an anticlimatic and obviously rushed manner! He dropped...

Endin thought for a moment of protesting at her accusation, then remembered why he was here and decided against it.
'Silvervale... Ways to recruit silvervale... Oh. That's obvious.'
"Sir, my father, before his death, ruled an area that stretched to include much of the land near Silvervale. He was popular enough will the people, and there was no love lost between him and the king. If my brother shares his feelings, we may have a supporter."
