Tyra loosened the death grip she'd had on the tiller as the fish finally stopped struggling. "About time," she muttered. She waited a few moments for the adrenaline to finally burn out before lashing the tiller in place. "Let's see what exactly we landed." She helped her brother stand and together they approached the dead fish, cautiously, in case it was faking.
It wasn't, and Tyra could see just how well Zulo had done his work. She patted the scaly side and gave the Rito a thumbs-up. "Good shooting, lad. I might have Sparrow teach you how to use the cannon." She glanced up as Felix came back on deck. "Yeah, it's dead. Think you can chop it up for dinner? Sparrow, Zulo, help him out. Hawk, I want you to take the tiller for a while. I want to make certain there's no leaks." She smiled at Felix to indicate she meant no offense. She knew he'd scour the ship high and low to any leaks when she asked, but she had to see for herself that her precious White Wolf was all ship shape.

Once the crew was certain the monster was finished and began to draw closer to it, Zulo slowly approached, still keeping his distance as dead as it was. He smiled at Tyra's compliment, but the truth really was that it was luck. If the target had been smaller, he probably wouldn't have done so well with the arrows. He almost told her that, but realized it would be better if she thought of him as a good shot. Zulo's pride simmered down when Tyra said he would be helping Felix and Corin get it ready for dinner. The thing was terrifying alive, let alone it's gory state. It wouldn't be possible to do much with the fish without getting all bloody. He didn't know how he would get himself to go near the corpse.

Corin cringed a bit when his sister mentioned that Zulo could try using the cannon. He was just about the only one who ever used it, and he liked it that way. Besides using the cannon, his only major purpose aboard the ship was repairs. He would rather teach the rito how to use a hammer.
"That we can, sister," he responded to Tyra. After she left to check for damage, he joined Felix to look at the monster. The rito on the other hand, looked a bit more reluctant to approach. Corin had kind of been expecting to help out, and the thought didn't bother him much. The whole reason he landed the monster on deck was to try cooking it for dinner. Being the crew's fisherman, he was the man for filleting his catches along with the crew's cook. And even if Zulo's arrows finished the monster, Corin liked to think that himself was to thank for the catch. Without him on the cannon, the monster wouldn't have been in the crew's possession anyways. He examined the corpse, imagining how gutting it would go. Definitely a two man job at least, three if the Rito could pull himself together and help out. And then there would be the clean up, but Corin didn't want to think about that for now.

Felix eyed the fish cautiously. It was big, which meant there was no way they were going to be able to get it down to the kitchen without chopping it up first. He walked around it, eyeing it and sizing it. When he was satisfied, he nodded and returned to Corin and the reluctant Zulo. "Alright, Corin already knows the drill, but I need you to pick up on it fast if you're going to help, Zulo. I need you to run down and get me the scaling tools that are by the fridge. I also need the big knife, looks almost like a sword, that is in the cupboard by the stove," he ordered fluently. Looking at the newcomers face, he frowned and added, "and if you're grossed out by this you might want to get some gloves as well. Corin, come with me and help me get the barrel of fresh water and some other empty barrels for afterwards. Zulo, this needs to be done fast, as fast as possible, as the fish will begin rotting within the hour and we don't want that, obviously. It's a big fish that will take some time to move though." With that Felix turned and hurried down to the storage, motioning for Zulo to follow.

Tyra ran her hand over a small crack in the planking on her ship. She'd already found a few, from where the fish had slammed into her ship, but so far, none of them were leaking. She'd just have to keep an eye on them, though. If they received too many more blow like from that fish, the boards would splinter more, and it only took a small crack to sink a ship. She patted a beam as she headed back to the deck. "Glad you're in tact," she murmured. "Tough old girl. As she strode back on deck, she saw the three boys had departed, no doubt to get the various supplies they'd need to cut up and store the fish. She stared at it in mild fascination, wondering what kind of creature it was. Then she shrugged and returned to the tiller. Judging by the stolen charts, they should be arriving in Hyrule soon. Not as soon as she'd like, given the state of the ship, but soon enough that they shouldn't have to worry too much about being sunk.

(Alright, boys, I'd like to land the ship soon. Finish with the fish, and we'll time-skip to make land-fall. A week sound good to y'all?)

Zulo felt a slight bit of relief when Felix told him he had to get some tools, as it sounded like he would only have to do some retrieving. The anxiety returned when he was told he'd also want some gloves. He quickly walked over to follow Felix. At least he could get away from the thing for a little while. "I'm coming," Zulo muttered, rather disappointedly.

Corin followed as well when Zulo went with Felix to get supplies, but he made a turn to where he knew the barrels would be. Once he had reached them, he got a hold of one designated for fresh water and gently tipped it onto it's side. He began rolling it towards the corpse, rather easily now that the waves had simmered down a bit. They always seemed like that after a good battle, like they slow down after the action.

Felix helped Zulo get all the tools back to the fish, including the gloves for him, and seeing as Corin had returned as well he took a deep breath. "Alright, fellas, lets dig in. Zulo, do as I say, and keep up. Oh and, if you feel like puking," he turned with a skeptical look in his eyes, "make sure to do it over the side of the ship. There's plenty of water around, to feel free to choose where you do it." With that, the three got to work. They used the water and tools to remove all of the scales, down to the last one, and then got down to gutting the fish. It was the nastiest bit of the process, starting the cut at the creature's **** and pulling the long knife up to its chest, followed by removing all of the entrails. But Felix was used to it, at least to doing it on smaller fish. Luckily this one was just about the same except ten times larger. After the gutting had been taken care of, they each got assigned a section of the fish to begin chopping up into smaller, more manageable pieces, which they then set up in the empty barrels. Felix kept glancing over at Zulo, wanting to make sure the new guy didn't mess anything up. Overall, the entire process took just over an hour, but to them it felt like a lot longer. They were now covered in fish slime and stunk even worse than the rest of the crew, but at least all the food was ready to be cooked in the barrels. Thankful for their work, Felix nodded at Zulo and Corin before beginning the job of moving the barrels down to the kitchen. Whatever happened later, he knew he wasn't going to be the one to clean up the mess on deck.
