Maxwell quickly translated to Shade what Seric said, and he backed off.

"Like I said, we heard an explosion, and we came to see what it was. Before you came up from the hole, I was told by your friends that they came into Termina by accident, and I was asking what they meant by that." Maxwell looked at Dan. "Seriously, though. Did you get lost, and you ended up here? What happened?" Maxwell asked Dan and Briana, but looking towards Dan for the answer.

Maxwell then realized that Seric had said he was a prince. He was about to ask him about it, but refrained. He would let Daniel answer his question first, and then question Seric about being a prince.

Daniel put his hand behind his head, as he tended to do when asked a question. He found it interesting that Seric mentioned he was a prince, as he hadn't before. A King and a Prince together which knew nothing about each other? It seemed the map certainly had had plans by sending him here. "Yeah, it was something like that, getting lost I mean. We didn't really know we were coming here, and we didn't mean to get here together either, but we just traveled and ended up here." He hoped his answer was vague enough as to not reveal any details on his priced possession, as well as clear enough to satisfy Maxwell's curiosity. Hopefully the king would be more interested in Seric than him.

Maxwell found Daniel's answer kind of weird, but shrugged it off. He needed to ask Seric about him being a prince.

"Hmm...ok." Maxwell turned to look at Seric. "Um...Seric, right? You said you were a prince. But you're not part of the Royal Family of Hyrule, and I have no immediate family, so where...?"

Then Maxwell remembered how Seric had introduced himself. My name is Prince Serinopeth Du Ikana, or Seric if you prefer.

"The Royal Family of Ikana? But...I thought they were long gone. Like, a really long time ago. So how...?"

(Seric: You see me use my character's speech color in italics, but no quotation marks. Those are his thoughts. If I used quotation marks and italics, then it's animal speech. You may already know this, but I'm just making sure.)

"I am a member of the now deceased royal family of Ikana. I'm the last living member. the rest were killed by the curse which was released from Stone Tower Temple during the siege. I've been traveling for a while trying to find someone to help me retake the stone tower and Restore life to my home." he said, Slight sadness showing as he thought of his lost home. how long had it been? he was five when it happened right? or was it 6? he didn't want to mention that he too was affected by the curse. granted it was to a lesser amount but still. "I apologize. I feel i have spoken for too long. as for our purpose here. We came here because in this complex there's a library, I've been meaning to come. I believe that there may be information on the tower. Daniel and Brianna came with me to find out more on Termina. as for where they came from i have no idea. they kind of randomly appeared in clock town while i was sleeping on the clock tower." his mood changed back to a more calm and he finally took his hand away from is sword, the glow dying down. then he caught on to something odd maxwell had said. wait. Hylian royal family? what does that mean. who are the Hylians?" he had never heard of hylians as he left Ikana before he was taught about them so he was now both interested and confuzed.

Maxwell stared at Seric in confusion. Everybody knew the Royal Family of Hyrule. Everybody knew Hyrule. But...he didn't. Not to mention he was the prince of a kingdom long gone.

"Yeah, the Royal Family of Hyrule. In Hyrule. East of Termina. In fact, there's a passage from Ikana to Hyrule's desert. You have to be the only person who doesn't know what Hyrule is. Not to mention that you're a prince of a kingdom long gone....like, really long gone. As in you shouldn't be looking that young...at all. Does this make sense to any of you?" Maxwell asked, looking at everybody but Seric for an answer.

h-how long has it been? it only felt like a 10 years. he was only 18... right? Right? he couldn't remember. the thoughts melted together in his head. he lost his breath. his vision began to blur and the world went sideways as he hit the floor and fell into unconsciousness on the dusty floor of the hut.

Daniel was becoming more and more intrigued. His hand ached to reach for the paper and begin writing this all down. A prince from a dead royal family trying to regain his kingdom? A King that didn't see how it was possible for the prince to exist? It was a huge rush of information, and apparently it was for Seric as well as he collapsed on the floor next to him. Frowning, Daniel crouched to check on his pulse. "Well, he's alive, although why he just fell and apparently passed out I have no idea." He looked at the others to see if any of them knew what exactly was really going on.

Sephira noticed how the boy had touched his gloved hand at her question. There was a wariness to how he answered too. He apparently remembered where they'd met. And as she studied the glove, she remembered too. A whip made from gifts from each of the races. The whip from a Hylian, the glove from a Zora, their combined form from a Goron, a paralysis poison in the whip from a Kokiri, a hallucinogenic imbued in the glove's claw, immunity to dirt and taint from a Twili, and an inability to miss from a Gerudo. And from her, its name. Tel’ Lindel. The Melody of Hyrule. She remembered their time together had been short, but it had affected her deeply. She had been wandering the country nearly a year after Strattus, having no idea what to do. She felt lost, and in a world that seemed filled with only hatred and violence, she had seen the whip as a weapon. Daniel, however, had explained it as a symbol of peace and unity, not the weapon of chaos she had seen. Tel’ Lindel. Just like his whip, her fire was a symbol of unity. Her gifts were from the goddesses, the fire from Din, the phoenix from Farore, the inability to die from Nayru. She could learn to control it, make it into something more than simply a harbinger of pain.
Ever since their parting, she had thrown herself into learning about her gift. She had learned a lot, and there were few times she had lost control. And she was learning that there was more to life than the pain her gifts had brought to her. She owed her gratitude to Daniel, for giving her this gift with his melody.
Abruptly she was jerked from her thoughts when the boy who climbed from the hole, Seric, collapsed. Daniel knelt beside him and assured everyone he was alright, but she moved to his side as well. She wasn't much of a healer, but she wondered if there was something more to his fainting.

Briana was beside herself with astonishment. Surreptitiously, she pulled out the small book she always kept with her and started jotting down the various things she was now learning. Ikana, she recognized, and once she made that connection to the Gerudo Desert, she remembered hearing of Termina. While they weren't at war with each other, Hyrule and Termina weren't completely friendly either. Still, she wouldn't have to worry about giving her name to anyone. Her skirt ruffles hid the book as she hastily wrote down everything she was discovering, and consequently didn't notice Seric had fainted until she heard Daniel speak up. She looked up with some surprise and disappointment. "He probably just couldn't take finding out he was supposed to be dead," she said, closing her book and hiding it back in her purse.

Sephira flinched and stepped back. She had been paying attention to the conversation, so she hadn't picked up on that. Supposed to be dead? She hid a shudder as she stepped back to stand with Maxwell and Shade.

Seric's eyes slowly opened to see the ceiling of the hut along with the faces of the people he had been talking to. " wh-Where am I..." his voice was no longer soft and warm. it was sad and rough. "What happened? Am i... Should i be. Dead?" he said looking at Brianna, then to Maxwell, then to the Girl he hadn't gotten the name of yet. "who... Who am i anymore" he shut his eyes tight, trying to stop the tears of confusion and sadness. "i must be cursed. Just like the rest" he said quietly as he began shaking. and for the first time in goddess knows how long, he felt cold and alone.

Daniel stepped back as well, this time not hesitating in retrieving writing utensils and placing all the information down on parchment. He didn't notice Briana was doing the same behind him. As he wrote, without looking at the paper, he listened to Seric. Curses were not unheard of to Daniel, but he'd never seen one where the bearer did not die, or did not age for that matter. Seric must have been truly ancient if he had forgotten how old he was. Or perhaps it was also part of the curse, not remembering. Daniel wrote all of this down, as well as a question. If all his family was dead because of the curse, why wasn't he? He hoped it would be a question to which he would find an answer. He looked up to the King, with the question burning in his eyes. "What is the curse he speaks of? I apologize if I sound ignorant, but I haven't been around long enough to understand."

Seric Wiped his eyes and got up. "I must apologise. this is hardly dignified behavior for me" he said as he sat. "I honestly dont remember how long it's been. however, i do remember what happened. but ill try to explain as best as I can" he said looking at Daniel. "My kingdom had been at war with a Tribe of assassins called the Garo. so long we had searched for thier hideout and to no avail. untill one day one of our spies had seen a small group entering Stone Tower. It was then believed that that was where they were hiding so my grandfather, being the Eldest member therefore making him King, had ordered that a small team would scale the tower and take out the Garo Leader. When they reached the top they had thrown open the doors to the temple, releasing the curse. most died instantly. Few returned. everyone left alive in Ikana was cursed. i was taken out before I to was killed. its funny. this hookshot is the only relic i have left of my family. I guess somewhere the years and days became one in the same."

The book came out again as Seric told his story. At war with assassins. She thought she remembered reading a similar story somewhere, but that had taken place in another place. She thought she remembered that one being fictional, though. "It must be awful, being the last of your people."

Sephira couldn't help giving the girl a look. You have no idea.

Daniel finished writing the last part of the story down. A doubt remained in his mind, however, even as Briana expressed her condolences. "But, what happened to the Garo? Did the course kill them all as well?" It was a very interesting story, one he felt like he should've heard before, but hadn't. He noticed the other girl looking at Briana when she mentioned being the last. He found her expression peculiar. It was almost one of empathy. He remembered when last he saw her. Her expression had been very much the same, except tainted with a good deal more anger and disappointment.

"I have no Idea what happened to the Garo." he said moving to lean in the doorway and look out to the sea. "It's possible that they were already Cursed before the siege. they did live in the Tower after all. they may still be around. I have heard rumors that the spirits were still roaming Ikana Valley. If I could Just close the door to the tower..." he trailed off as he stood in the doorway, listening to the waves

"So you're saying you're affected by the curse, but not enough to turn you into a skeleton?" Maxwell asked. It was an unlikely story, but it was the only possibility if Seric was really the prince. "Well, ok. But let's say you close the door, and the curse goes away. How are you sure you won't age to the physical age you're supposed to be at? You could die, you know."

Shade wasn't entirely sure what Maxwell was saying, but was sure it was something the kid didn't need to hear.

"Way to be blunt about it." Shade said, hitting his head against Maxwell's leg.

"Give me a break! I'm just trying to get him to think about any negative effects ending the curse might have."
