Smythen felt the alcohol's effects grow even stronger, even though he hadn't drank for quite a while, he slowly phased out into the unconsciousness until he was basically sleeping. Then, he revived with a start, glancing around wildly and noticing that two people were missing. Smythen blinked several times, shook his head, and then merely attributed it to his imagination, he obviously just imagined those two people, or maybe they were still here, he didn't even know. How long had he been out? He hoped not for long. He nodded back at Daniel, noticing that some other man had gone deeper into the abyss.
He followed Daniel and the other man deeper into the complex, he soon noticed how musty it smelled, and how dirty it was, and how the place was covered with disgusting cobwebs. Smythen internally shivered, he didn't exactly like dark creepy caverns, but he decided just to roll with it; he was too far along now. He saw a stairwell at the end of the passage leading farther downward, but the man ahead seemed to turn into a door before then; he was happy that he didn't have to delve further into the unknown.

Seric Opened the door. he was surprised by the fact that on the other side was a huge Library. a maze of bookshelves lay before the four. there were empty sections of shelf and the books were dusty and old, but still intact. He heard what sounded like something chewing something else from somewhere on the other side of the room. he stopped and put a hand on his sword's handle

Near a desk on the other side of the room a small grey fox chewed on a bone she had pulled from a small skeleton that was sitting in the chair. she didn't know why she was, possibly the instinct of the animal she inhabited, but nonetheless she was enjoying it. that was until she heard the creek of the door open. She looked up and through a small crack on the shelf saw a small group of four enter. two were strangers
one she felt she had seen before, and the fourth smelled of alcohol. She cautiously watched them as the one she felt she new put a hand on the handle of his sword.

Briana was a little surprised by the departure of Maxwell, the wolf and girl, but she was more disappointed that their light had been taken. The girl had summoned the fire that had light their way, now they only had a dim glow to go by. It made her uneasy, and the cobwebs and rustling skulltullas weren't helping any. She stuck close to Daniel, noticing that he had scrawled a few notes into a notebook much as she had done, as they followed Seric into a room.
Her shock at the size of the library was incomparable. She had seen vast collections of books, but this was the largest one she'd ever seen. The sheer number of books was beyond her comprehension, trying to understand why so many books were in one place. She went to a shelf and looked at the different volumes, pulling a few at random to squint at in dim lighting. "I could spend years here," she breathed, flicking through pages and studying the illustrations and stories.

Seric Watched Brianna and chuckled at her remark. he thought he heard slight footsteps. he looked in the direction Of the sound and caught sight of a small grey face and pointy ears.

The small fox trotted quietly over to peer cautiously around the bookcase at the newcomers. She was Surprised when the male with the sword looked at her. Directly. She tried to dart behind the bookcase. but hit her head on the side.

Seric, now curious, walked over to the shelves. he rounded the corner and looked down at the small grey fox, sitting dazed on the ground. He bent down to look closer. She looked back, took a double take and Backed up. "W-who are you" she said, surprising Seric with her speech. She was frightened, Seric could see that. He spoke softly. "It's alright, I'm Seric. Seric Ikana" Her breathing slowed. Seric? he said his name was Seric. The name sounded familiar. Where had she heard it? following her instincts she sniffed at his outreached hand. she was curious now, about the other people.

Smythen slowly stepped in the room. Peering through the darkness, barely able to see, and tripping once or twice only to regain balance. The alcohol was not wearing off, to his annoyance, and was keeping him more quiet than he usually could be, and his clouded mind was not exactly allowing him to think at his full ability. He glared into the room, as it was filled to the top with ancient books and scrolls. He saw the girl, whose name he recalled to be Briana, go up to books. She didn't seem to be the librarian type, not a reader, but then again very few in Termina were, people liked to obsess with masks and other trivial things.
Why were they here to read books? He wasn't here to read under dark candlelight. So he simply stood over by the wall, and leaned against it, growing even more quiet as sleep threatened to overtake him.
His head quickly snapped around as he saw a fox that seemed to be speaking in some unknown language, he rubbed his eyes several times over, and decided to start some conversation.
"So, why are you guys here? Do these books have something to do with it?" he directed towards Briana.

Brianna was so focused on her books that she didn't notice Smythen approach. His quiet voice made her jump, nearly dropping the book she held. "Little more warning, please," she muttered as she carefully picked it up again. She checked to make sure it was alright, then carefully slipped it into her purse. She'd already placed a couple in there, so it was fairly full now. She thought she might be able to fit only one or two more, although she could look for some scrolls to slip in as well.
"These books have everything to do with it," she told Smythen. "I'm a book dealer, and trade in various tomes. These are unlike any I've seen before, and will be worth a fortune when I return home. I might even keep them for myself. I'll certainly work on making copies of them." She pulled another volume from the shelves and started to leaf through the pages.

Smythen didn't realize that Briana was staring at her books, and her jump at his voice also frightened him for a second. He didn't like this place, not enough sunshine and laughter for Smythen's liking. Smythen preferred something more cheery, and comfortable, and preferably above ground. Smythen simply nodded his head, and then looked around the room to find something more interesting, because he had never been interested in books. Unless they were funny, he never liked reading the renowned great novels or the history books, they made Smythen fall asleep almost as fast as a bed did.

Seric had finished talking to the fox and looked around. he looked at Brianna and Smythen. "WHat are you looking for?" he heard the fox say. he replied saying "NOt sure but the girl there, Brianna is her name, she came for the books. I came for answers. I guess.". he wandered next to Brianna as she put a book in her purse. as he scanned the shelf he saw something that made him stop. There was a book with the Ikana Crest on the back. he took it down stood looking at the cover unusually silent.

Fall of Ikana-Terminis.

The book was marked with the crest of an Ikana Chronicler. interestingly, the fox, Misure, was just gnawing the leg bone of said chronicler. she trotted cautiously over to Seric.

Daniel put away the small booklet where he had been taking notes as he stepped into the library behind the others. The first thing he noticed was the smell, which tickled at his nose. It was a funny kind of feeling, all the dust congregating on the dry pages and the humidity of the ocean nearby accumulating on the walls, all of it mixing together and coming together as a smell he wasn't sure whether to categorize as bad or good. He moved further in, certainly marvelled by the sheer immensity of the collection. Every place he visited tended to have some remarkable aspect about it, whether it be the skull kids playing their enchanting music deep in the Lost Woods, or the many craters and steaming geysers of Death Mountain, but nothing quite like this. The sight made him fill with awe, for it served as a symbol of the great wisdom of the people of this land, which had probably been gathering in the library for many years, if not centuries. He let his hand sweep across several of the old tomes, and barely even noticed Seric had found some kind of animal. He also noticed Briana putting some of the old books into her bag, and internally wondered if they had any right to remove the books from the library. However, he decided it didn't seem like anyone had visited the place in many years anyway, so the books would probably get more of the recognition they deserved if Briana took them with her. He sighed, still filled with marvel, speechless.

Brianna flinched away some as Seric came to stand by her. She glanced at him, then frowned as he pulled down a book. "Fall of Ikana?" she commented, intrigued. "Sounds like a grim tale, but an educational read." Then her frown deepened. "Isn't that your home?" she asked.

Smythen felt the alcohol slowly start to wear off, as he boringly sat in the corner of the room. His friends would be wondering where he was off to by now, and were no doubt searching for him, but Smythen knew they wouldn't give a second glance at the cave. Smythen hated dark and dusty places, and to be honest he had no idea what he was doing in here, or why he came. Smythen stuck along, although, and paced the room, looking at the books. Smythen could read, not very well but he was able, but he had no interest in books that weren't entertaining. And especially not a book that sounded like a history book, as Fall of Ikana did. So Smythen ignored the statements and sat down on a dusty stool, that creaked as his weight was put on it.

While Briana and Seric huddled around some kind of history book, Daniel moved closer to Smythen. He kept his ears listening sharply in case some matter of interest was mentioned by the other two, but at the moment some inert curiosity pulled him towards the stranger. "So tell me, in a cave filled with pages whose stories run as far back as memory can tell, what is yours? A knight? A lord? An exile? I wonder what brings someone dressed in such a flamboyant attire to seek adventure in the depths of a long forgotten library?"

"Yes, it was." he said, slight sadness could be heard in his voice "That book may have the answers i need" he carefully took the book back from her. he signalled brianna to follow as he walked back to the desk in the back of the room, pasing daniel and smythen. he opened the book and sat at the small desk after knocking a skeleton out of it. the fox, seeing movement in her snack, grabbed a femur and gnawed on it.

Smythen looked over towards the man and responded I got lost to be honest. Smythen then dived into a longwinded explanation explaining his role in his band, his childhood, and how he was kicked out for being drunk. He then concluded with him getting lost and tripping into the cave. Smythen had a bad habit of talking for far too long, and as a person seemed to not care about it either. He would probably love to talk all day if he had the opportunity.

Daniel smiled and nodded throughout Smythen's tale, politely enough not to interrupt. Surely it wasn't the most exciting story he'd ever heard, but when you thought hard on it it was quite comical. When the man seemed to be finally done, he acknowledged that it was an interesting tale, and that hopefully they wouldn't get too lost in the cave. Then he turned to Briana and Seric, trying to see what they were doing. "And which questions do those answers answer?" he spoke up, curious about what the whole deal with the book was.
