Seric replied saying "hopefully it will help me remember what happened to me and my fathere kingdom."he sat down at the smqll desk, lighting the candle with the snap of his finger, he opened the book carefully,l. Misure sat next to him, watching intently as he read.

As he came to a page near the end of the book, he stopped. There was a picture and a text under it.

Entry 1162: This may be it. I was with the squad of 100 soldiers. they went and i followed recording what was seen. we found it, the garo base. but we did not find them... all that there was... It came from nowhere, first darkness. we lost half of our force, they just... dissappeared. then Came the Bats. from nowheree, thousands of them. they surounded this... THING. it was not there, then it was. I saw... it was Granos. It was Death. with one swing of its scythe, it took out the entire force. they all became but Monsters. out of fear i ran, but the darkness chased me and those who came with me, those it touched turning to bone. and its voice. To the people of Ikana, You have dessicrated my Temple and Attacked me. Now the darkness shall rule over all of your Kingdom. You will Die, but you may NEVER BE at Rest."

This is the thing that brought such suffering to our kingdom.

Seric stopped reading a d sat in silence looking at the picture sketched on the page. This Caused it all. He sat i a sad and angry silence, the room seemed to darken around him as a shadow crossed his face.

"This creature caused the deaths of many soldiers," Briana whispered, touching the picture. "It looks like a grim reaper, and based on this account, it acts near as one too, if it can kill so many with only one blow. I would have thought such an act would be impossible, even for such a monster." She frowned and looked at Seric. "Why would so many men be out in force like that? If they were simply looking for something, the force should be larger than a dozen or so, shouldn't it? And if they were planning on attacking..." She frowned at the page, somewhat troubled by the thought of such a creature existing.

"It's a war," Seric said, remembering. "For years, the Garos had been attacking us and we them. They knew where we were, but we didn't know where they were. They killed many of our people and we never found them. They were assassins, bent on destroying the Ikana family and the people of the canyon; they were relentless. Finally a scout who was lucky enough to return reported seeing them going into stone tower. My father, Igos sent an invasion force to take them by surprise, but it was a trap. Darkness came from the tower, and I was run out by a messenger. Now I know what happened to the force. The air around him had grown notably darker. He was becoming angry with the memories. A faint hum came from his sword, which was glowing in its scabbard.

Daniel, who had been reading over Seric's shoulder and listening to his story took a step back and frowned. "Wait, your father?" He looked around him, shaking his head. "Seric, this library must have been lost decades ago, by the looks of it. And that book looks even older, the pages are being torn apart with the lightest touch. Those events, they have long since come and gone. I don't know what happened to you but," he frowned again, "it can't possibly be your father who sent those men." He looked Seric up and down, thinking the boy couldn't be older than 20, if that.

At this point, muri rN to some unseen corner as Seric stood and looked at daniel his eyes could be seen as white-hot cinders. The iris of each eye looked red as blood. Even when he spoke, all the joy and joke typical to Seric was gone only a frightening cool and calm remained My father was Igos Du Ikan, lord of ikana, i only remember bits but i now know how long ive been walking. Over a thousand years its been. That thing is still in the tower. I know this. If it weren't, i wouldnt look like this.. Near the end, his eyes showed the faintest glimmer of... a tear. The darkness faded a bit, and when he next spoke his voice wavered. I just want to... i just want to be free. I just...want to...live he fell to his knees looking towards but not at brianna as his eyes faded bach to normal.

Smythen continued sitting in the corner, slowly growing more bored. He rocked the stool back and forth before the stool fell over in a cloud of dust. He stood up, brushing dust off of his trousers nonchalantly before whistling innocently; feigning interest in what was going on around him.

Daniel felt a sense of pity for Seric. He could feel the pain emanating from his voice, even through the supposed rage. Taking a step back, he quickly drew his notes and began writing down what Seric had told them, as well as what they had learned from the book. It seemed like something that would matter, that could change the course of events at some point in the future. Suddenly, a slight familiar tingling started from the usual place where he kept the map. It took him a few minutes to register it, but as the heat grew so did his awareness of it. At first he was extremely surprised. They had barely been in this place, Termina, and the map usually only took him away after gathering some kind of important information. Then he realized, he had gathered quite a large amount of new information to add to the book. Not only had he recorded his discoveries of this land so different from Hyrule, he'd apparently also discovered the existence of a man, heir to some doomed kingdom, who was cursed with eternal life. All in all, he was sure all of it would matter more sooner or later. But the map seemed to have plans for him to go somewhere else now.

He was about pull the map from its pack to look at it, knowing very well that that would take him away. He would have done it without hesitating, except he remember something else, or someone more like. He looked back up to see Briana there. He had brought her to this place, and he couldn't bring himself to just abandon her here when she might never be able to go home. Deciding what the best course of action would be, he called to her. "Um, Briana, there's something I must tell you."

Briana felt her heart moved by the young man's lamentations. To live for so long, knowing your whole family had died years ago, yet cursed to continue to live. What had he gone through, this cursed prince? Had he ever known a love? Had children? Or had he been cursed with loneliness as well as longevity? Or worse still, had he felt love, only for it to be taken from him by the cruel hand of times? She felt tears forming in her eyes as she considered this, the sad tale of the cursed prince. She barely managed to blink them away before Daniel called to her. She turned to him, frowning. "What is it?" she asked, crossing over to him.

"Um, well remember how we go to this place in the first place?" he responded with a hand behind his head. He shrugged apologetically. "Well, it's about to happen again soon... It's started actually. I don't know where I'll be taken to next, but I don't feel okay leaving you in this place when it's my fault you're even here at all. So..." He looked around, not sure how to go about it. "Do you want to stay here...or would you like to come with me?" Some blood flowed to his cheeks as he heard himself ask the question, though he didn't mean much by it. "Either way, it'd be a pleasure. But if you wanna come, I'd say we have about one minute before I disappear. So," he looked around, "grab everything you want to, if that's the case."

Briana frowned, not realizing for a moment what he was talking about. Then it clicked and her eyes grew wide with surprise. "You never did explain to me how you do that, don't think you're leaving until you do." Her skirts swirled as she turned to Seric and Smythen. "I suppose that means it's time for us to say farewell. Good luck in your fight, Seric, and I wish you luck in breaking your curse. Smythen, I wish you luck in your... drinking." She smiled, hoping she hadn't insulted him, but unsure what else to say really. She touched her bag to be sure she hadn't lost any books, then turned back to Daniel. "Last time, I ran into you. I'd rather not have to do that this time."

Daniel nodded understandingly. He turned to Smythen. "There is much yet left to be said between us. I look forward to us meeting once more." He bowed his head, knowing fully how rare it was for him to meet someone twice in his travels. However, it'd happened once that day. It could happen again. Then he looked at Seric. His eyes felt pity for the man, as he could see tiredness in his eyes. No wonder, considering the curse he'd just explained. But he saw something else as well. Conviction, and a rekindled passion. More than pity, he felt curious about him. Where would he go next? "I pray to those above us that you will find your way, Seric, and get whatever peace you seek. Even if we are never to meet again, I will look for the trace you will leave behind, have no doubt about that. Fare thee well."
With that, he moved closer to Briana and put his arm around hers. "I hope you're ready for this." With that, he drew the map from where he kept it safe. By now it felt so hot in his hands he made an effort not to drop it. Opening it, his eyes spread in wonder once again. I've never heard of a place called Logata. He started feeling the familiar tingling, the heat spreading through his fingers and his bones, enveloping the pair in itself. His eyes lit up, and then they were gone.
