  • Gerrard arrives from Memories Rekindled
Gerrard had a chance to think while on his journey back to the base about the memories he had just encountered. His mind was in turmoil, he didn't know what to trust. Was he really like this, was he really evil? DId he really kill dozens of people? Did he really betray his friends?
He wasn't even paying attention to where he was going anymore, he was too confused. He mulled through his newfound memories, cringing at the death and destruction he had left in his wake.
Gerrard was disgusted at himself, absolutely disgusted, he felt like he was about to be sick. He then looked up and realized that he was the camp, and a quick glance at the sky confirmed that he was here just in time for when he usually went out to hunt in the morning. So he quickly crept to his tent, grabbed his supplies and then went back out to hunt.
He had even more time to think during his hunting, as it had become little more than second nature to him. He was absolutely drained, drained to the core, maybe his decision to visit Clock Town was a bad idea after all. But he decided to move on from his disgust, and instead focus on how to change himself. He had left Hyrule, simply because he felt that he didn't belong, it was an impulse decision. But he saw a new potential now, the potential to change himself, to become a new person. It was then, that he decided to change himself, to continue to become a better person. To rebuild relationships, as Gerrard skinned a young animal he set this in his mind, and he was happy.
He knew that Termina was merely a stop on the road, that they were going somewhere farther, and he was happy with that, he was happy that he would have the opportunity to change himself and everything that was represented by him. All he had to do was show others that he has changed, by doing everything in his power to protect others, to support his morals; even if it puts him in mortal danger.
Gerrard had found out his purpose in life, and he liked it.

    • *James, Star, and Sephira enter from TBaTE*

James mood had fallen on the way back from the ambush. Sephira had remained quiet and he hadn't dared break her silence. He knew something was different, something had changed, but he couldn't pinpoint whatever it was that was causing it. He knew his own mind was all jumbled up now, considering his recent findings, but something was going on inside Sephira as well. He just wish he could openly ask her without fearing she wouldn't react well to it. As the camp loomed closer, he began wondering what was happening with Maxwell and Edward. Was the fight over yet? And if so, who had won?

      • Sephira had finally forced her emotions down, sealing them behind the hard wall where she usually kept them. "Get the others," she told James, her voice empty. "Now that this is over, we need to keep going. Get Elwood out of here. Star, go find Midnight and Zarola. Especially Zarola. I need to know why she gave Edward the signal before it was time." The cheetah glanced at her concerned, but hurried off to do just as she asked. "And James? Thank you." She smiled at him. "For asking Zeb to stay." Then she moved off to reclaim her pack and old clothes. She was tired of this dress. As soon as she was back in her proper outfit, she'd burn it. She might not even way that long.

        • Gerrard returned from his hunting trip, deposited the food in the kitchen and made a journey back to his tent. He was the happiest he had been in a long while, as he had come to a conclusion on what to do with his life. And consistency with his ideals was very important to him, with how chaotic his life had been.
Gerrard made his way back to his tent, and sat down, taking a short rest.

          • Jacob sat the spot he and Zebulon usually sat at, the edge of the camp facing Clock Town. He wasn't sure why, but something was....different. Like there was no longer conflict in Termina. Jacob started to become bored, then remembered that Edward and Zeb had left to ambush Maxwell. They didn't say where they were going.

Now that Jacob thought about it, what was he doing here? He had left Alec, Widow, and Odin at Romani Ranch because he needed to make sure Maxwell was taken down. But he was stuck not being able to help. So what was the point of staying here? He thought about going to the ranch, but immediately shot the idea down. He hadn't been lying when he said he couldn't settle down with them, and it was still true now.

I should go to Clock Town. Maybe I'll find some nice people there who will take me traveling with them. That'd be good.

Jacob stood up, and gathered a few supplies. He felt bad for taking the supplies, as he felt he was stealing from the rebels. It was like they held out their hand for him to grab, and he took it, but stabbed them in the back as soon as they helped him up.

"Sorry, but I need this." Jacob whispered to himself, pretending the camp was a person. As Jacob walked away from the camp, he looked back once, and saw that nobody was watching or following him.

"Don't worry, camp. I'll be fine." Jacob said. He turned back around and walked towards Clock Town. In the distance, he saw someone walking beside someone riding a horse, and ran towards them. Maybe they'd take him.

            • Inga smiled as Elwood talked and rested his head. The care-free life of childhood was great, when getting tired was mostly caused by playing. Even her own as a Sheikah was nice, although Inga was a bit less hard-working than most of the others from her village. She heard his fairy jingle in Elwood's ear and had a feeling of what she was telling him. "Sounds rough," she said with a smile as she scrubbed a dish over the bucket. She didn't mean to sound snarky, but it might have naturally sounded like that. Of course, it was still insincere. "I think I'll head out and get some rest myself. Although I won't really need it with how boring this job is."

              • James nodded stiffly at Sephira. Her tone felt like knives to his ears, but he did as he was told since he knew nothing else he did could help her. He walked around, spotting Tennor, Tenning, and Ea and passing along the message. "Meet us at the edge of camp, it's about time we got out of here." Finally he got to where he knew Gerrard was staying at the moment. Seeing him resting made him realize how tired he felt. It had been a long day and even longer night. "Hey, Gerrard, it's over. We're leaving this place. I mean, you're welcome to stay, but I don't think the Rebel's Base will last much longer anyway. We're meeting at the edge of camp." He nodded with a dark tone on his face and turned, knowing Inga would probably still be at the kitchen. He was lucky to run into her just as she left the place, and stopped her before she wandered off. "We've been here long enough, Inga, and frankly I couldn't be more glad we're leaving. Edge of camp, gather your things." He tried a small smile for her to make sure she didn't feel like he was being bossy, but there wasn't enough motivation in him to do it. Instead, he heard a jingling inside the kitchen and guessed Elwood would be there. Taking a deep breath he stepped in. Sure enough he was sitting there. He delivered the message coldly, and Elwood could tell something had changed. However, he didn't mention it and only headed to where James had ordered.
Finally, James wandered around the camp for a while before coming to the girl he knew would be most surprised they were leaving. "Hey," he started shyly, and she half-smiled back. "I know I said we would talk later, and we can, but we're... My group is leaving the camp now. Some things have happened and we don't belong here anymore. I know it's more sudden than you were expecting, but do you still want to come with us?"

A few minutes later James found himself nearing the edge of camp, Jacky a few feet behind him. Most of the others were already there, waiting. Some looked tired and ready to go, others not so much. It didn't matter anyway. He stopped once they were close enough and closed his eyes, feeling the weight of the world still heavy on his mind.

                • Gerrard looked up from his brooding thoughts and saw James mentioning that they were about to leave the camp. Gerrard was elated, it had been long enough, he hated being involved in a war in which he had no emotional hold. It felt unnatural, he felt used.
He gladly rummaged through his tent and gathered his meager supplies. He "borrowed" the bow he received from the camp when he arrived, it had served him well and he felt like he would need it for the trip ahead. Once he triple and double checked his pack, making sure he left nothing vital behind, he set off towards the edge of camp.
Gerrard had a pep in his step as he walked, he was excited for this trip, a whole new world. How exciting this would be, and hopefully he would be able to make his own life there. Finally get some peace, he was sick of fighting, and he sure as hell wasn't ready to die. Putting his whole past behind him, off to the unknown, he loved the sound of it.
He approached the edge of camp quickly, a sly grin on his face, as he stood there, waiting for the rest of the group to arrive.

                  • "It's about time," Inga muttered when James came by. She was really excited to be leaving camp, but her tone may not have quite reflected that joy. "I've had more fun herding cats back home..." With that, she began gathering up all her things from inside the cooking tent. She ended up storing all her belongings there, since that's where most of her day was spent. It felt great to bid the other two cooking ladies a rather snide farewell and get away from the eventless tent for good. Inga spotted a few familiar faces around camp heading towards a spot outside of camp, and made her way there herself with Elwood close by. She had no reason to stick around the camp. As it seemed with the other Hyrulians, she had nothing to do with the conflict, and in all honesty she still wasn't totally clear on what was going on in Termina. Her biggest interest since arriving in the region was to do some exploration, and she figured some of the others may have shared a similar lust for adventure.

                    • Midnight was with Elwood, just as Star expected. He asked what had happened, which she replied to with a shrug. "The fight's over, and we're leaving. Something's happened to Sephira, though, and it'd be best to leave her to her own devices." The wolf grimaced, knowing just how moody their mistress could be, and continued after Elwood, determined to keep the Kokiri from pestering Sephira.
Star then went to find Zarola. The panther was gnawing the remnants of a rabbit she had caught, and looked up as Star approached on stiff legs. "Finally finished with your soft-hearted mistress?"
                      "Soft-hearted?"
the cheetah repeated, spitting. "Sephira is anything but!" Sephira could be kind, but she was not overly so.
Zarola guffawed. "I grew up with a woman who delighted in causing others pain. She took pleasure in causing torment, whether to a stranger or to me. Any who harmed her was only met with her loud laughter and wild grin. She taught me what strength is: to take whatever is dealt you, no matter how harmful, with laughter, and to deal it back with equal delight. Your Sephira learned some of that from our time together, but she's still weak." She stood and stretched. [I]"Now I have no need to remain here. You're moving on out of Termina, so I will return to my home and retake my command as master hunter." She flicked her tail and walked off. Star stared after her, then shook her head and wished her good riddance, then headed to join the rest of the group.

Sephira stared at the dress in her hands. She had changed into her normal green shirt and black leggings, but she couldn't decide what to do with the dress. Keep it, as a memento of Termina? As a reminder of what allowing herself to open up could cause? Or burn it, to allow her emotions out fully? As she would a body, as tribute to Maxwell? She sighed and tossed it to the ground, then flicked her wrist. The dress caught fire and burn away quickly, leaving a pile of ash in the grass, left unburned by her skill. She returned her sword to her hip and replaced her pack on her back. She shifted the quiver so it settled as it usually did, then glanced around her.
This had been a mistake. Stopping in this camp. Allowing Edward to convince them to join his rebellion. Accepting the task as spy. She should have led her group past, taken the risk they would have been caught in cross-fires. At least she could have protected her people. She could have avoided getting between Edward and Maxwell, avoided harming the latter.
She let out her breath in a puff, smoke curling from her lips as fire roiled in her belly. These thoughts weren't going to change anything. She had learned long ago the uselessness of second-guessing. Look back on the past and learn from mistakes. Then set your face to the future and dwell on it no further. She took a deep breathe, then turned and moved to where the Hylians were standing, waiting for her. She moved to the head of the group and looked back on the others. "Their fight is over. We have no further reason to stay here, unless you chose to remain in Termina." With those simple words, she turned and led the way west. Always west, seeking a place where Elwood would be unaffected by the wizard's curse. And now, Sephira searched for a place where she no longer allowed her heart to be influenced by others. Where she wouldn't have to worry about her emotions hurting anyone, not even herself.

                      • Gerrard stood at the edge of the camp, gathering around with his companions, he might even call them his friends. He was ready to leave, and the remnants of a smile were still plastered on his face. Adventure, he needed one, he needed to get that feeling of freedom and happiness again, and he was hoping that their adventure would hold that in store.
Suddenly, Sephira stormed up, with a stony look on her face. Gerrard was about to issue a cheery greeting, but decided that may not be the best course of action, Sephira looked pretty angry and he wouldn't want to anger someone who could burn him on command. She gave everyone the option of either staying in Termina or continuing their travels, and Gerrard knew the answer immediately. He knew he wanted to leave this place, Termina was not right for him, he didn't really like anyone here, and he didn't exactly want to abandon the only people he knew either.
Sephira then tromped off to the west, with a determined stride, and Gerrard looked behind him, and then followed. His whole life lay ahead of him, all of his hopes, all of his dreams. His whole life lay behind him also, but his old one, his new one lay before him. He was off for a new hope, onward, onward to the west.

                          • It put Ralatar in an awkward situation when word reached the rebellion base that Edward, the rebel leader, had been killed. Seeing as he was the whole reason Ral was out here, the boy wasn't sure what to do next. As the news spread, panic in the base increased, so he figured all he could now do was go back home. He began the trek back to Clocktown, mood dampened with disappointment, but paused when a thought struck him. He could still get that bounty money... nobody was ever clear on how this Edward guy had died. If he was that far out from the base, it could have easily been an attack from one of Termina's countless monsters. Ralatar decided that instead of going straight home, he would drop by the site of Edward's death and see what he could do. After passing back through the camp and picking up a sack of apples, he headed over to where a few distant rebels grieved over the man's dead body.

Before his arrival at the dead body, the group that had been there had begun walking back to the camp, leaving the body alone. Once he reached the body to get a look of his own, Ralatar couldn't help grimacing at the gruesome sight. Whoever had done this was certainly not just any old field monster, and they certainly had the intent of making Edward suffer. This was more than a dead man... he was literally broken. Ralatar noticed that each of the limbs appeared to be broken, and there was a piercing in the man's heart. Even though Ral had never even seen a fight to the death in his entire life, he knew that what lay before him was the product of pure hatred. He ripped his eyes away from the bloody sight and scanned around him. There was nobody near, some guards here and there but they probably just thought Ral was another boy crying over the man. It would only be a matter of time before people came to dispose of the body, so he made sure to be quick about this. Kneeling down, he drew his sword and layed the blade across the man's neck. With a gulp, he pressed down. The blade didn't dig too deep at first so he pressed harder, and his heart leaped when red blood squirted up from the new split, a couple drops landing on his skin. That caused Ral to stop what he was doing for a moment, but he somehow kept himself from realizing how terrible this was. He forced the blade down once more, this time letting some of the sword's heat energy flow, and completed the chop. After letting the severed head empty itself of blood, he picked it up by the hair and quickly dropped it into the bag. When he had lifted the head, the eyes that were still open seemed to stare straight at Ral and he almost vomited. Once it was in his bag, he made sure it was concealed with apples, and he stood up and sheathed his sword. Suddenly the boy took off, as if the body laying there was a giant spider, and he didn't stop running until he was almost into Clocktown. Now he couldn't shut out the feelings of disgust, guilt, and even horror, and as he ran he constantly repeated things like "What the hell," and "What is wrong with me," as if they were mantras. Now all he wanted was to get the thing out of his possession, so his plan was to turn in the head as quick as he could and get the bounty money. The thought of someone knowing he hadn't killed Edward never even crossed his mind as he got near town.
