Joshua glanced back and forth between the new guy and Rose. Something was up, but he had no idea what. He was thinking of trying to break them apart before one went for a weapon when Sephira dragged Elliot away. He turned to Rose and tried for a sympathetic smile. "What was that about?" he asked gently.

"it's none of your business" rose said politely "its complicated and not something you should be getting involved in, really sephria shouldn't be getting herself involved in this either, but I know she would kick my butt if I told her not to" rose half smiled.

Elliot was completely flabbergasted at Sephira's outburst towards him. "I...I don't know!" he said, taking a step away from her and raising his hands up in defense. "That's why I wanted to talk to her! So we could get everything out there!" He was so shocked he didn't know what else to say to defend himself.

Joshua shrugged. "If it's love stuff, I probably don't want to anyways." He put an arm around her shoulders. "But I know a pretty girl like you shouldn't have to tell him to back off more than once. I'll send him packing if you want me to." He gave her a cocky smile.

Sephira turned around and walked a few paces away, trying to cool down her temper. She failed, though, and whirled back around on Elliot. She poked him in the chest. "You said something or did something since I left that upset her. Now tell me what happened since I left. NOW!!!" Her tone brockered no arguement, her cheeks flushed with rage, her eyes sparked with anger and a hidden hurt. Her heart might have been broken by a fool of a man, but she'd be damned if she let that happen to one of her friends.

Rose thought about it, it would work but do I really want to hurt Elliot that badly she thought. The truth was she didn't want to hurt him at all but the only way to help him is to hurt him rose looked up and him, her heart was breaking right now, could she do this "fine" she finally said "but we have to wait till Elliot returns, until then, you don't even touch me"

"I just...I mean I...might've...yelled at her...a little...and said some things I shouldn't have..." This was all going horribly, horribly wrong and Elliot knew it. Had he made a mistake trying to win back Rose? Should he have just called it quits? Maybe James was wrong. Maybe he should've just let her go. To someone more worthy of her love. He could feel his already broken heart shatter into a thousand more pieces. His stomach was churning and he felt like he was going to throw up what little food he'd eaten.
He didn't want to leave her. But if it made her happy...Well, who was he to stop her?

Joshua hastily took his arm off her shoulder. He grinned anyways. "Your wish is my command, lady," he said with a bow.

Rose sighed, she couldn't stop looking at Elliot, he was the sweetest guy ever and the last thing she wanted to lose was him. But he had proven to her that she wasn't good for him, that she caused him nothing but worry and pain. A single tear fell from her face, she quickly wiped it off before anyone could notice. No I wont cry, not yet

Sephira felt herself starting to heat up and quickly forced herself to calm down. This was not the time to shift into her phoenix form. She smoothed down the few feathers that had popped out at the base of her neck, feeling them start to retreat back. She took a deep breathe and let it out, then turned back to Elliot, much more calm than she had been. "Why did you yell at her? And what did you say? There is a chance we can repair whatever damage you did," she said in her normal tone.

"She wanted to go back to the fortress...part of a plan to get herself kidnapped again..." Elliot explained in a quiet tone, looking down at the grass that suddenly seemed a lot more interesting to look at. "I didn't want her to go back there and get hurt again...but...she was so insistent...and you know how stubborn she can get. So I told her-" He couldn't get the next words out. They felt stuck in his throat and for a while he just stood there, opening and closing his mouth. Somehow, he managed to force it out. "I told her to go back there, okay?" he shouted back at Sephira. "It's what she wanted, right? To go back? Get herself killed? What was I supposed to do? Tie her up in a chair so she couldn't go back?" He could feel himself getting heated up as well, though he was mostly angry at himself for allowing all of this to happen. "And I told her..." he added, after taking a deep breath and trying again for a calm tone, "I told her that because she would willing go back there again, she didn't have a care for how I felt about the whole thing. That I didn't want her getting hurt." Having said everything he felt that needed to be said, he clenched his teeth and turned his head away from Sephira, ready for the ensuing bashing that was sure to come. So let her call him an insensitive jerk for everything he'd done. It wasn't as if he already felt that way about himself. He deserved every ounce of hatred that Rose and Sephira were giving him right now.

Sephira felt feathers lift around her neck and forced herself to calm down. He had every reason to shout at her, even if she didn't like it. Before they retreated, she plucked one of the larger feathers, flinching a little. She examained its beautiful red-orange-yellow coloring as she considered. He had told her that he wanted to protect her, but he did it the wrong way. She ran her hand down the feather and chewed her lip. There might be a way to turn this around, but he was not going to like it.
She walked over to him and gave him a hug. There was one thing she had to know before she broached the idea to him. "Why did she want to get kidnapped again?" she asked gently.

Elliot stiffened at her hug, not quite the reaction that he was expecting from her after everything he'd done. He sighed. "I don't know..." he mumbled, still looking away. "I don't know anything anymore...This whole thing is messed up...I messed up...and I don't know what to do..."

Sephira rubbed his back as she thought. She doubted that there was no reason for Rose wanting to go back, especially when she told her and Joshua she wasn't go to Gerudo Valley, ever. She turned to regard the Gerudo. "Maybe you should just apologize. Don't go in like you did earlier and tell her that you love her. Don't go in angry. Wait until you've calmed down. Then come over and talk to her." She handed him the phoenix feather. "Even ashes can have life if you search hard enough." With that, she turned and walked back to Midnight, ignoring Rose and Joshua, and just sat down and nuzzled with the wolf.

Elliot stared down at the feather in his hand, twirling it between his fingers. "But how can I apologize if she won't even let me speak to her?" he mumbled softly. Well, he felt calm enough now. And he wanted to make things right. He hoped he would be able to get through to Rose if he could just get her to listen long enough... If he could show her how much he loved her, how much he wanted to be with her, and how sorry he was for getting angry at her, well, everything would be okay, right? He sighed and placed the feather in his pocket. He wasn't going to be so quick to give up on her now. As long as he knew that she loved him, everything was going to be okay. With a more determined heart, he walked back to her.
