*Corin, Dean, Felix, Jasin, Tyra, Zaria, and Zulo arrive from In the Deep*

"Loose the sails! I don't want to run aground!" Tyra shouted to her crew, eyeing the water ahead of them with a practiced eye. It looked like it leveled out rather smoothly, no sign of reefs or deadheads. Still, she didn't want to run too far up the beach. She glanced at the beach. Tide was coming in; they'd want to land soon. Otherwise, when they intended to leave, they'd get stranded until the tide came in all the way.
"Hawk! Feather! Keep an eye on those waters! I need to know how close I can get to the beach! If we can avoid having to wade to show, it'll be easier when we return with our prizes!"
The sound of the beach crunching under the hull of her ship was a welcome sound and Tyra breathed a sigh of relief. They'd done it. They sailed across the sea to arrive on this foreign continent. The ship had survived, and she hadn't lost any of her crew to sickness, hunger, or the sea. She patted the tiller. "Good girl," she whispered, relaxing against the rail. Eventually she'd have to start splitting the crew up into who was going ashore and who was staying aboard, as well as assigning specific jobs to each member, but for now, she'd enjoy the feeling of making landfall. The sea was a fickle mistress, and she was glad they'd traversed it safely.

Felix looked out across the new land they'd landed on. A thousand questions rushed his mind. Where were they? Did someone live here? What would they do now that they were here? Would the food be good? He couldn't think of what to say, so instead he just waited for the others to gather around on deck, clearly waiting for Tyra to issue commands. The looks of awe on their faces were exactly how he was feeling. He could hear seagulls but not see them. Wherever they were, he hoped they wouldn't be ambushed. It would be a shame to have gone all the way across the Sea of Sapphire to be slaughtered.

After helping adjust the sails to the proper speed, Corin sped to the front of the ship with wide eyes sweeping over the land before them in awe. It had been a long journey, and in honesty there was a small worry that they wouldn't make it alive, but they had. As he had been anticipating their arrival, Corin had painted an image of this unknown land in his mind, and what he was looking at now was not too far off. The sense of accomplishment that he felt now was greater than he had ever felt before, and now all he was waiting to do was go explore the island. After he was satisfied with his examination of the new world, a jumpy Corin turned back and ran to his sister who was leaning against the rail. "So, now what do we do?" he asked with a wide grin stuck on his face. That wouldn't be going away for a while. "I'm dying to go look around."

Tyra smiled as her brother bounced over to him with all the excitement of a child finding a new toy. Looking at the faces of her other crew members, she could see similar expressions of cheer. No doubt theyd all want a chance to explore the new land, but she didn't dare leave her ship unguarded. "Alright land lubbers! Here's how it's going to go." She paused a moment to make sure they were all listening to her, then continued, serious enough that she didn't even use their nicknames. "Jasin, Dean, you're staying aboard the ship. I don't want any strangers aboard my ship. Zaria, Zulo, scout along the beach here. See if you can find fresh water in the area. Split up if you want or stick together, up to you. Felix, Corin, you two are with me. We're striking inland to see what we can find in terms of plunder and provisions." She looked around and grinned. "We'll meet back here tonight and split a cask of rum in celebration for our new discovery!"

"Aye, Capitan!" Zaria swept down from the deck onto the sand, neglecting the plank. The seabreeze carried her easily onto the sand, where she waited for Zulo. The rising sun cast diamonds across the cobalt sea, and the sand starting warming under her feet. "Zulo, let's head up this way, see if we can find anything important." she gestured up the beach the way she was facing, then waited for the younger Rito.

Zulo swooped down from where he had been perched atop a mast to meet Zaria, and followed her lead in flying off the ship and beginning the long walk down the seemingly endless shoreline. He did not know what to expect, but was just happy to finally be reunited with plain, stationary land. He had gotted used to the swaying of the White Wolf, but he would probably always prefer the land. "So, we're just looking for fresh water?" he asked her for clarification as they walked. The warm sand felt nice between his talons, much better than the hard wooden planks of Tyra's ship.

Felix smiled from ear to ear as he followed Tyra and Corin down to the beach. So far, the sand didn't seem that much different from the one in Logata, but it didn't matter. The simple fact that it was sand from another land was enough to make him giddy. As they walked he looked around to make sure he took in every single part of this area. For a split second, he even considered the possibility that this was unclaimed territory and that Tyra's crew would be able to take over it. Their own personal piece of land. Hopefully it stretched out for more than the size of a small island, but even a small island would be marvelous in his eyes. Shaking the idea from his mind, he talked to the other two. "So, where do you think we are, exactly?"

"Fresh water, neat rocks, whatever you'd think Tyra would need." She shrugged, stretching her arms up and then back. "If there's anything you want to look for aside from fresh water, we can do that as well." Over the trip on the ship, between the attack of the fish and the occasional bad weather of the ocean, Zaria had warmed up to Zulo nicely. She tolerated his presence and saw him as an equal crew member. In loose sense, she'd think of him as a friend.

Before he hopped down to the beach with Felix and Tyra, Corin waved goodbye to Dean and Jasin who were unlucky enough be denied the opportunity to explore the new land, and added a "See you later, suckers!" He looked around the land once again now that he had a view from the sand. For all he knew, he was one of the first to ever set foot on this land. "Um, I say we name it Port Vian, or something," he said in response to Felix's question, letting out the first name possibility that came to mind. For the rest of the day Corin would be trying to come up with his own name for the place as the explored. He was still under the impression that they were the very first Logatans to land here. He was reminded of tales he had heard about a group of Logatan conquerors from ages ago who wiped out nearly the entire population of the Bybourne Forest until a group of Stari beat them out. That brought a question of his own to mind. "Do you think there are any natives living around here?" He figured that if there were, they would be fairly primitive and the crew would be able to clear them out easily enough. Or perhaps, they could befriend them, or if they weren't worth the alliance, make them slaves.

"I think the easiest way to find it would be to search from above, then," Zulo said, and his pace picked up into a run. He jumped and took off, ascending into the sky. It felt nice to finally be able to fly freely since it wasn't exactly something he could do over the sea, but it would also be a help in scouting out sources of fresh water. The entire shoreline as far as he could see appeared to be nothing but sand, so he tilted to sway towards the more green land, expecting to have better luck in finding fresh water there.

Zaria couldn't help but grin when Zulo suggested flight, something she'd always prefered over traveling on foot. The consequences of course, were tender feet, but it didn't matter too much to her. She chased Zulo, spreading her wings wide and flapping after he'd lifted off the sand so they didn't collide on takeoff. She followed him from the white sand over the green tops of trees, feeling the wind on her face and the strength of her wings. She caught up to him and flew a little higher so their wings didn't bump, and shouted to him from above. "Just grab and go when we find it?"

"I suppose there might be, though I find it weird they don't seem to have any ports. Maybe they haven't developed the ability to make ships yet?" The idea entertained Felix. He didn't think it more likely than there not being any natives at all, but it was a possibility. As he walked, he sometimes crouched and scooped off some sand into his hand. The further they went, the less sandy it felt. At times he swore he could feel dirt. "I don't think this beach is too large. I think there might be some other types of land nearby."

"Grab and go?" Zulo asked Zaria above him to make sure he had heard right. He wasn't sure exactly what she had meant. "I thought she just wanted us to find a source of fresh water so we can locate it when we need it." He couldn't imagine that they were supposed to literally bring as much water as they could back to the ship. After all, they hadn't brought anything to carry the water in.
Zulo went into a glide for a while, enjoying himself so much that for a moment he forgot about the task at hand. He snapped his attention back to the land below, which was going to turn into more foresty land before long. Eventually they would have to get lower or they wouldn't be able to see through the dense canopy of the woodlands.

Zaria thought about what she'd suggested, and mentally face palmed. "Yeah, let's just find it and go get Tyra," she told him, scanning the treetops below them. Some of the trees had started to thin out and she could see blue water in between the green of the leaves. "Hey Zulo, do you see that?" she asked, starting to fly down towards it. "I think it's a spring."

When Zaria spoke, Zulo looked closer and saw what she was talking about. "Yeah, I see it," he responded, beginning his descent towards the water. He swooped down and landed on a branch above the spring, looking it over. The water was almost perfectly still and very clean looking, and Zulo knew this was what they needed. The spring water was coming from a calm cascade running over some rocks, although he couldn't tell where the water went beyond the spring—it seemed to just run into the ground. "Looks perfect to me," Zulo said, looking over towards Zaria. "What do you think?"

Zaria touched down lightly next to Zulo and surveyed the water, nodding. "This should be fine, do you wanna see if it leads anywhere?" She gestured to where the water seemed to run into the ground. "It can't hurt, and if we find anything important we can tell Tyra, and if not we'll just say we flew slow." she shrugged then. "It's up to you,"
