  • As soon as Elliot caught site of the two boys, he could tell they'd been fighting. Jame's cheek looked like it was already starting to swell and Tennor wasn't looking much better. Still, he bit back his urge to reprimand them, not wanting to seem overprotective or overbearing. He had to remind himself that James was a tough kid and that he could handle a punch or two.
"Hey, I got something for you, dad," James called out to him, breaking his train of thought. "It's over there on the counter, I hope it helps." Elliot threw him a questioning look before walking over to the counter and picking up the cloth bag that James had motioned him over to. It was definitely on the weighty side. He untied the knot that held the bag closed and peered inside.

And gasped. That had to have been a lot more than three hundred rupees. Like a lot more. Because everything in there were golden rupees. He tied the bag shut again and shook his head. "Nuhuh," he said, giving James a firm look. "I hope you're not planning on using all of this for the house. Three hundred, maybe, but the rest should be for you. Buy some clothes or a new weapon. Or better yet, save up for education. That's important, you know. But I don't want you spending all of your life-savings on this." He tossed the bag back over to James.

    • James sighed as he caught the bag, of course, why had he expected differently from holy self-less Elliot. He shook his head, "No, it's yours." He threw it back. "I don't need a weapon, I have clothes, and education? I mean really?" He shook his head again, "I know you're trying to be a good father, but you know that I could never live that way. Besides, they are not my life-savings. A...friend, left them to me, and he said I could do what I wanted with them, and right now I want you to use them on the house, and no buts."

      • "Hey, hey, education is very important," Elliot said, the side of his mouth curling up in a smile. "Why, when I was your age, I'd already been studying every subject you could imagine, from mathematics to languages to literature to history. I would walk for miles in the cold winter snow just to get to my teacher's house before the crack of dawn and stayed there well into the night. And back in my days, we didn't have those fancy school buildings with freshly painted walls. Sometimes we had to study inside a small broken down shack, and do you know how hot it can get in there when summer is in full bloom and you're crowded with a bunch of other kids? Very! And another thing--" He stopped when he realized he'd been rambling and straying from the point. He cleared his throat and looked away. "You know I only want what's best for you," he said softly. "I want you to have a regular, happy life, without having to worry about things like expenses." He took a deep breath and added the next part while looking into James' eyes. "You don't know how terrible I feel that I can't change the past for you." He remembered how distraught James had looked when he'd first told him that his mother had been brutally murdered. The still fresh memory brought a sharp pang of sorrow through his heart. "If I could, I would in a heartbeat. But dang it, I can at least make the rest of your life as best as I can make it." He stood there for a moment, averting his eyes from everyone so no one could see their dampness. Then, with the bag clenched in his hand, he pushed himself off the counter, mumbled something about 'going to make the payment now', and headed out the door and into the rain.

        • Tennor followed Elliot and patted his back, "It's all right, man," he said, "Don't worry about it. James is happy now as much as he was back then... or, at the very least, pretty close."
He looked around, "I'm gonna stick around for a while. I'm going to be exploring the muntain for a few days and need somebody to talk to when I'm not. Mind if I come over for dinner sometime? Maybe bring anything I can find up the hill?"

            • James bowed his head when Elliot told him that, then watched him leave with a pained expression. He wanted to follow him so badly, tell him it was alright, but, he couldn't bring himself to do it. At least Tennor had followed him, so he wouldn't have to walk alone in the rain. He was now dry so he walked deeper into the house, passing Rose with a pained smile before walking further and seeing...the message from Sephira. He read through it, noticing it was burned into the table, meaning he had been right when thinking Sephira had turned into her phoenix form, which he had seen once before. "Hey," he called to Rose, "Sephira had to go, she wished us luck with the house." He then turned and smiled at Midnight and Star, it seemed he ended up with them a lot lately. He then looked at the door and noticed Sephira's packs, which he hadn't noticed earlier. He went, picked them up, and put them on the counter. He sighed, wondering when Elliot would return.

              • Amaterasu trudged through the rain, trying to figure out what to tell Rose. She saw Elliot and Tennor through the rain, walking somewhere, but didn't call to them. Instead, she knocked on the door of the house that had muddy footprints leading towards the two boys, assuming that was their house. Still comtemplating on what to say, she waited for either the door to open, or the rain to let up.

                • Tennor looked up. He thought he had seen a familiar zora...
But he didn't see that flash of a picture again.
Oh, how Tennor missed Ammy. Where WAS she?

                  • Tennor and Rose's words fell on deaf ears as Elliot left them and trudged through the mud to get to the end of the rows of the housing. After exchanging the down-payment to the realtor for the keys to the house, he decided to head to the markets and just look around. He didn't quite feel like going back home yet. Not when he didn't feel like he deserved it.

Despite the rain, there were still a lot of merchants out selling and it brought a small smile to his face as he realized he'd be doing the same thing. If he had the time, that is. It seemed like a lot of things liked to pop up and keep him from his work. Like Rose repeatedly getting kidnapped, for one thing. Certainly he loved every inch of her, inside and out, and he'd always be there to rescue her from whatever came their way, no matter what. He had to admit that it got a little distressing though. He shook his head as he realized that his mind was beginning to wander again. He focused his attention on the several items on display. One of the stalls caught his eye. The person managing it wore a black robe with a hood that covered his head and part of his face. He stood unflinching and seemed to stare out at nothing. On his stall though were several items that looked to Elliot to be rather impressive rarities. Painted vases that held history, old fashioned looking blades with curiously decorated handles, and some things that he couldn't even recognize. It seemed like things that James would like. His fingers brushed against the pouch that he'd safely tucked away in his pocket as he walked over to the stall. The hooded man looked up at him and Elliot thought he saw a smile appear from under the hood.

If James wasn't going to use the money for himself, he'd have to do it for him.

                      • Amaterasu smiled tensley and walked in, staying near the door where there was already a small puddle of water, probably from James seeing as his hair seemed damp. "Rose, I need to tell you something urgent," she said quickly. "If you want, we can wait, but it can't be any longer than a week until we come up with a plan."

                        • James saw Ammy come in, but he was different, she looked...tense. When she mentioned something urgent he decided to give them some privacy, or at least let them feel like he was not there. "Yeah, I'm going to write in the living room, see you guys later," he said and walked away. 10 seconds later he was sitting behind the kitchen counter, after having crawled back in, listening quietly to their talk.

                            • Amaterasu shook her head and dropped it. "You are going to hate me, but I went to join the Gerudo and see if they'd take me back, learn some secrets from them. Ganondorf said..." her voice trailed off while Amaterasu got the courage to look up and say the last part. "He wants me to bring you back... He said if I didn't, whenever a Gerudo was to see me, she'd attack me and everybody with me. I'm sorry Rose," Amaterasu said, her voice breaking.
